Chapter 135
It’s alive.
That’s all she can think as she full out sprints back to her burrow.
Of course it’s alive. It’s a plant but it reacted to her stepping back from the tree.
IT REACTS.
She realized half way through that it deflated almost right after she started eating it in earnest. She was so caught up on the taste that she merely dismissed it. She just thought it was just a normal reaction for that plant. Lots of plants have little quirks like that.

But something about it stopping moving the literal second she stepped backed viscerally unnerved her.
In her paranoia she payed special close attention to the ground as she made her way back to the burrow.
Turning her head around every which way every few seconds trying to spot the wispy white strings poking out from the ground.
Is it alive? Is it looking for her? Will it be angry that she ate some of it?
None of those questions were going to get answered but she couldn’t help but grow more and more anxious the more she thought about it.
The more anxious she got though the more she looked around so while she was heading the right way she wasn’t much looking forward as she should have.
She ran straight into the bush that her burrow was made right next to.
It took her awhile to detangle herself from the plant but she managed to in the end and quickly made her way into her burrow.
