Chapter 148

I had but one choice left for me.

Ignore guardians attempt at humor.

Few, if any, trees liked or even made puns.

And the seldom few of the forest who did kept to themselves.

“Guardian…”

It was rude to ignore its attempt at levity but I did not wish to encourage that particular kind of humor. It was very unappealing.

“I am sorry you have not felt welcomed so far.”

Guardian’s next words would prove vital. If it continued to make puns I would either continue ignoring it or confront it.

“Elder thanks for being understanding but I feel very uncomfortable here. All I’ve attempted to do here is do what’s right. But it feels like I’m being surveilled almost constantly. The surrounding trees around the burnt clearing have been almost consistently donating nutrients and while it’s appreciated I feel very watched.”

Almost consistently? That was strange.

That the surrounding trees were keeping an eye on it was par for the course. But the fact that the nutrients stopped for a moment was odd.

“When you say almost consistently, what do you mean?”

A pause before guardian began to explain.

“The nutrients stopped for a second but then continued.”

“When did this occur?”

“Just before I contacted you.”

Oh that coincides with my outburst. Which had thankfully worked I was now being left alone as was my colony.

However i am positive that the problem hasn’t simply resolved itself.
