Chapter
She’s didn’t want to go back outside.
Once she got in her burrow she stayed there waiting. First she grew hungry. And she bore through it. Hunger was something all denizens of the forest have experience with. Winters were long and unbearable but were an excellent teacher in bearing with hunger.
However she then grew thirsty.
Even during winters you could go out and eat ice.
She endured as long as she could but she didn’t think she could stand it any longer. The smell of the water, which was only a stones throw away was enticing her to go outside.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
But she was afraid of even peeking her head out of the burrow. She was afraid she would find the wispy white things poking from the ground. Waiting to see where she was.
Part of the reason for her fear was that in all her years she had never seen a plant react in that manner before.
It was almost like it reacted the same way an animal might have. It was unnerving and chilling.
She hesitantly made her way to the exit.
The light felt almost blinding but she couldn’t care less all she had eyes on was the ground.
She couldn’t find any.
Which was such a relief she stood there dumbfounded only for the scent of water to reach her and practically beg her to go have a drink.
She cautiously stepped out of the burrow and took a more in depth glance at the surroundings. It all looked normal.
She might have just been over reacting. She felt foolish as she made her way the water.
When she made it there she didn’t stop to look for anything.
She practically dove in the water she was so thirsty. As she was just about to head back for the place she saw those flowers, she caught a piece of whiteness within the water.
She almost dismissed it as rock but she went to take a closer look and froze.
How big was this plant!?
