While I grew the … photosynthetic mushroom? What about lichen mushroom? Well whatever I ended up calling it, while it was growing, I checked in on the progress I was making towards the pain mushroom.

… i was going in the right direction I think but it was difficult to gauge where I was exactly in relation to the pain mushroom. I wasn’t following the old path I made to get to it. I wanted a shorter and more direct path to it instead of the winding path I made when I was exploring. I figured if I was going to start giving the pain mushroom nutrient I would need a straight-shot pathway from me to it.

Though… if I really wanted nutrients sent quickly I could always find a local tree with a lichen colony on it. But the chances of finding a local surviving tree, much less an intact lichen colony, after the fire blazed through the area was astronomical.

Tapping into the area’s local hub might be worth a shot though. The one in my area was still mildly fluctuating but if the trees there were truly decimated then the hub was likely left somewhat intact, meaning some nutrients might still reside there that I can pilfer and redirect towards the poor pain mushroom.

From what I recall people can die when exposed to extreme pain. But since it’s a mushroom I can only hope its made from sterner stuff.
