Back at Lilica's house
"Dad? Why did you lock the door? Kazuya still hasn't come in yet." Lilica turned her head questioningly when she heard the door locked.
"Hah! You…! You still think I'd let that bastard come in? I was going accept it if it was Ven but… you're telling me it wasn't even someone close to you from before?! Tell me, just how long did you know him for?" Mr. Stell shouted angrily, his face turning gradually red.
"…Around 3 months…" Lilica whispered softly and guiltily, afraid that her father would hear her answer. Truthfully speaking, knowing a person for only 3 months was very short and isn't usually enough to get to know their true personality.
"3 months?! Lily… Do you even know him? Isn't he just tricking you? What if he just wanted your child? He'll throw you away after you've given birth! You brat! Don't you even realize that?! Think about it carefully! He's a prince! Why would he want a runaway succubus like you!" Mr. Stell shouted loudly, veins popping up on his face.
"He's not like that! Kazuya's kind and treats me gently!" Lilica shouted back, feeling sad that her father would doubt the person she loves.
"Hah! You said you only met him for 3 months. How do you know he's not just acting? People can put on an act for months or even years! Do you really believe he's sincere? Don't you know that he's well-known for being cold? You really think he's kind and gentle?" Mr. Stell shouted back, feeling sad that his daughter had completely been brainwashed by that bastard.
"Kazuya's not cold at all! At least towards me… I know he didn't put on an act for sure. I know he's sincere towards me!" Lilica retorted back, trying to hold her tears back.
"You idiot! You don't even realize you've been deceived! He's kind to you just because he wants the child!" Mr. Stell shouted, sure that he was right.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
"No! He was kind to me even before he knew about the baby!" Lilica said as she put her hand on her abdomen subconsciously.
"Hah! You really think he didn't know? Vampires have more magic than us! Don't you think that he had realized that there's another magic source in your stomach?!" Mr. Stell said.
"That's…" Lilica couldn't answer, as she followed her father's thoughts, it was possible that Kazuya had known about the baby even before her.
"Look at you… You can't even retort back now! Isn't the truth plain to see? You've been tricked!" Mr. Stell shouted victoriously, feeling that he had finally managed to open his daughter's eyes.
"Go collect your thoughts in your room! Don't even think of contacting that bastard!" Mr. Stell continued as he walked towards Lilica to take her phone away.
"Lily… Go rest up in your room. Mom will make you some soup. Don't stress too much about what your father said. It isn't good for the baby." Mrs. Stell said as she gestured for Lilica to go up to her room.
"Okay…" Lilica replied softly as she went upstairs, her mind still filled with what her father had said.
'Did Kazuya really act gently to me just because of the baby? So, he really doesn't love me? Was all of that just an act? No… I've already decided to give him a chance to show his love for me… I shouldn't just doubt him so easily like this.' Lilica thought to herself as she entered her old room.
The room was still as it was, without any dust. Her mother had probably kept it clean for her. Lilica walked in nostalgically as warm memories surged into her heart.
'How I miss this place…' Lilica thought as she saw her favorite plushie doll on the bed and her favorite pen that her father had given it to her as a graduation gift.
After a while Mrs. Stell came into the room, holding a tray with a bowl of soup on top.
"Drink this soup! It's good for your pregnancy. I also drank it everyday when you were in my stomach." Mrs. Stell said as she gave the bowl to Lilica.
"Thanks, mom." Lilica thanked her as she received the bowl of hot soup. The soup had an enticing smell and soon, Lilica finished the whole bowl in seconds.
"Don't think too much about your dad. I'll find a way to convince him to at least give the Second Prince a chance." Mrs. Stell smiled in satisfaction when she saw Lilica finish the bowl. She also wasn't quite satisfied that her future son-in-law was going to be a prince since she didn't want to become a family with the royal family. It was too restricting. Moreover, she had actually planned for Ven to be her son-in-law since she really liked how Ven had stayed loyal to Lilica for many years.
