Chapter 180: He’s Old Enough to Know Now

“Dad, do you remember that day about ten years ago that I played with another boy? The one who looked similar to my plushie, Vampy?” Lilica asked her father after their breakfast.

“I do. What about it?” Mr. Stell asked, wondering if she had regained her memory. Lilica had suffered such a trauma back then that she had erased her own memory.

“Well, I think that the boy back then was Kazuya but Kazuya said he had no memory of it. Can you tell us what really happened that day? Part of my memories are also gone so it got me curious.” Lilica replied as she glanced at Kazuya.

“Lily, are you sure? It might not be a pleasant memory for you so do you still want to hear about it?” Mr. Stell asked, feeling worried for his daughter.

“Yep!” Lilica replied resolutely.

“Okay, I’ll tell you then. On that day, you told us that you wanted to play with that boy so we allowed the two of you to play around at the park. However, after sending you off, not long after, you disappeared. Your mother and I couldn’t find you no matter what. It seemed like you’d gone quite far away to play. After a few hours though, you ran back to where we had parted, crying and crying. You kept telling us to help the boy and that he was in danger. We quickly informed the police and they helped us search for the boy. A while later, the police came to find us and told us not to worry since the boy had been rescued.”

“And then?” Lilica asked.

“That’s all I know. I never knew who the boy was too. If Kazuya is really the boy back then, then you’ll have to ask his parents about the details after that.” Mr. Stell replied. He really didn’t know that much since the police was being rather secretive and only told him that everything had been handled. The reason there were being so secretive was most probably because the boy was someone of importance. And the incident had to be kept under wraps.

“I guess so.” Lilica replied, feeling a little disappointed. What she wanted to know was what had happened during the time she played with him until the time she ran to her parents, not how her parents found her again!

“Anyways, has there been any updates on the enemy?” Mr. Stell asked.

“Yes. My father says that they’ve figured out who the enemy is. It seems that he was an old friend of my grandfather but they’ve fallen out due to some argument. He is from the angel’s race.” Kazuya replied.

“The angels? Didn’t they flee from the demon realm many years ago?” Mr. Stell asked.

“Yes, but it seems like he held some grudges for the royal family and is dead set on ruling the demon realm. I doubt the other angels are actually with him.” Kazuya replied politely.

“I see. I’ll research on their weaknesses just in case. You two go do whatever you need to do.” Mr. Stell said before he stood up to leave the room.

Kazuya and Lilica also returned to their room to call the king and queen. The call was to check on Lilienne and to ask about that day.

“Hello, mother?” Lilica was the one who called.

“Lilica?” The queen’s voice came through from the other end.

“How’s Lilienne?” Lilica asked as she still felt anxious.

“She still hasn’t woken up yet but there are no problems with her body condition.” The queen replied.

“That’s great…” Lilica breathed a sigh of relief.

Seeing that Lilica didn’t say anything right after, the queen had a feeling that she probably had something to ask her so she said in a gentle tone, “Is there something you’d like to ask me about?”

“! Yes. Actually, it’s about something over 10 years ago.” Lilica replied.

“10 years?” The queen felt puzzled.

“Did Kazuya meet with an accident or something like it? I noticed that he has a scar a little scar on his left chest. He also has some missing memories from that time too so I wanted to ask if you knew anything about it.” Lilica asked the queen honestly.

“!” The queen was surprised that Lilica would ask her about this. Almost everyone had forgotten about it since it was so long ago.

After deliberating for a while, the queen sighed and said, “... I guess he’s old enough to know what had actually happened now. Put on the speaker. I’ll tell you two about what had happened and why we had to lie to him back then.”
