Chapter 118: Moved On

Ventina was surprised at Ven’s words, feeling a little happy that he had said he was her boyfriend. It was the second time he had said that. The way he had saved her today was just like wat happened back when they first met each other. Ventina’s heart was pounding hard a how cool he looked right now. She remembered that this was how she fell in love with him in the first place.

The man was dumbfounded by Ven’s declaration. His lie was exposed instantly. The man then said in a careful tone, “Bro, you’ve got it wrong. I was just helping her. It was nothing. I didn’t do anything to your girlfriend. If there’s nothing more, I’ll excuse myself.” After he finished his sentence, the man put the shopping bags down and quickly ran away, in fear of being punched again.

“Why didn’t you defend yourself?” Ven turned to reprimand Ventina.

“It’s my fault? He took me by surprise! And I mean… It had been a while since someone tried to approach me that I forgot how to react.” Ventina retorted back softly, thinking up various excuses.

“Sigh…Next time be more careful.” Ven didn’t want to scold the poor girl so much so he just grabbed the bag on the floor and walked towards Ventina.

“I’ll be careful. But you were taking so long to come back. It’s your fault too.” Ventina retorted back, pushing the blame onto him. Her words were mixed with a little bit of jealousy since she thought he had gone away to buy something for Lilica.

“Alright, alright. It’s my fault. Anyways, here.” Ven said as he handed her the ice cream cone in his hand. He had gone to the ice-cream store just now to buy an ice cream and present for her, so it had taken quite a lot of time.

“! Is this the ice-cream from the shop earlier? You bought it for me?” Ventina asked, feeling so happy. She wanted to even preserve this ice-cream. She was happy that he hadn’t gone to buy something for Lilica, but for her.

“Didn’t you want to eat it? You looked so down when we went away from the shop that it made me feel guilty for nagging so much.” Ven explained his actions as he naturally took her shopping bags in her other hand and carried it for her.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Ventina noticed these small gestures of him and thought, ‘This is why I love you so much. You’re always so considerate and gentlemanly.’

“Aww… Little Ven is so sweet.” Ventina teased as she patted his head, treating him like a child.

“Don’t pat me! I’m not a child. C’mon, let’s go. I’m hungry.” Ven said as he pushed away her hand annoyingly and strode forward without waiting or her.

“Wait!” Ventina said as she quickly followed him, eating her ice-cream happily at the same time.

“By the way, you’re pretty good to be able to punch and hold an ice-cream at the same time.” Ventina said as she remembered how he saved her.

“I’m trained to be able to fight even with one hand. I’m not the general of knight order for nothing. Anyways, what do you want to eat?” Ven asked as they walked around the mall aimlessly.

“Hmm… How about that restaurant? I heard the food there is pretty good.” Ventina suggested as she pointed to a classy restaurant.

“Okay.” Ven had no objections so he readily agreed to her suggestion. Even though Ventina was the one dragging him around, he was always the one who was paying since his pride didn’t allow women to pay for him. The restaurant didn’t look too expensive and there weren’t that many people so Ven had no objections.

However, as he was about to step into the restaurant, Ventina pulled him back, preventing him from going inside.

“What’s wrong?” Ven asked Ventina questioningly. Wasn’t she the one who suggested this restaurant? She didn’t want to eat here anymore?

“Let’s not eat here. I suddenly want to eat noodles.” Ventina said as she glanced at a table inside the restaurant.

Ven knew that Ventina hated eating noodles so he was even more confused with her words. He then saw that she was looking inside the restaurant, so he followed her gaze and saw two women chatting happily in the restaurant, one of them being the one he had loved before, Lilica.

Ventina realized that it was obvious she was looking somewhere else, so she retracted her gaze and said, “Let’s go.”

She tugged him, not wanting to meet Lilica since she knew that something was going on between them the night he asked to stay at her place. She didn’t want him to feel sad since he was bound to be rejected so she decided to eat somewhere else, even though she really wanted to try this restaurant.

“It’s fine. I’ve already been rejected, and I’ve come to terms with it. You don’t need to be considerate.” Ven said as he walked into the restaurant.

Hearing his reply, she was both happy and sad. She was happy that he had come to terms with his feelings but was also sad for him since she knew how much he had loved Lilica.

“Do you want to go to a table far from them?” Ventina asked, not sure if he had really accepted the fact that he had been rejected.

“It’s fine. I know that you want to sit with them, right?” Ven replied back with a gentle smile. He had thought that after one month, he would probably still love Lilica but when he saw her laughing happily, he didn’t feel his heart squeeze or racing heart. He just felt happy for her as friend. He didn’t feel any other emotions, meaning he had really accepted being rejected. Surprisingly, he had already moved on quicker than he had thought.
