Chapter 202: Childishly Cute

“Got it.” Lilica replied back.

The two of them then flirted for a long while before they finally went back to doing their work.

Meanwhile in another place

Ven and Ventina had woken up extra early to travel to Ventina’s parents’ graveyard. Ventina had placed her parents’ remains far away from her house and people since she wanted their souls to rest in peace. As a result, the two of them had to travel really far away to the rural areas.

By the time they got to the graveyard, it was already noon. The two of them walked along the rows of graveyards until Ventina came to a stop.

“This is my parents.” Ventina said as she bent down to put the flowers on their graves.

Ven followed suit and placed some flowers too. He then bent down and started greeting her parents, “Nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Yukimura. I’m Ven Lester and I am your daughter’s boyfriend. I am here to greet you two today and ask for her hand in marriage.”

As he finished his sentence, he used his warm sturdy hand to touch Ventina’s shoulders, bringing her in closer to him.

Ven then looked into her eyes lovingly before he continued, “I love her and promise to treasure her my whole life. My parents have no objections to our marriage at all and all that’s left are your blessings.”

Ventina felt a little touched at his speech so she added, “Mom, Dad, I’ve finally found where my own happiness lies. I know I want to be with him forever. Please give us your blessings. Of course, after I marry him, I’ll still be visiting you two every year.”

The couple’s eyes met each other as they let out a trusting and loving smile. After a moment of silence, the two of them then proceeded to clean the grave before going home.

On the way home, Ventina rested her head on Ven’s shoulder.

“Do you think my parents are happy in heaven?” Ventina asked, disrupting the silence in the car.

Although she knew that crossing realms was possible, the realm of the dead and the realm of the living must never cross paths. There was once when this taboo was broken and that was during the great war between the humans and the demons. Ever since then, this rule was taken very seriously and there was a very clear line drawn between the living and the dead.

“They probably are, which such a cute and beautiful woman as their daughter. I know that they’re probably watching you from up there, loving you just like always.” Ven patted her head with one hand as the other held the steering wheel.

“How are you so sure?” Ventina asked. Maybe it was because the thought of marriage finally dawned on her, she felt like she’ll really be separating with her parents as she was going to be spending most of her life in the demon realm now.

“You do know that there are magic ponds that allow people to look at their loved one’s lives in heaven, right? Besides, if your parents have yet to be reincarnated, then they’re probably busy watching over you, for fear you’ll make some childish mistake.” Ven teased her.

“What do you mean by childish? I’ve never been childish. The one who’s childish is you!” Ventina pinched his arm.

“Ouch! See? You’re already acting childish!” Ven said as he quickly retreated his arm that as previously on her head.

“I’m not! I don’t care anymore! I hate you! How dare you insult me!” Ventina pouted her beautiful lips, annoyed at his words.

“Wait! I didn’t insult you!” Ven tried to coax her.

Ventina ignored him.

“Who said that being childish was a bad thing? What I meant was that you’re childishly cute!”

Ventina’s annoyed feeling dissipated quickly but she still continued pouting her lips an ignoring him.

“I didn’t mean to insult you or anything. In fact, I was complimenting you! Tina, don’t be angry with me.” Ven said as he took her hand to hold. He wanted to look her in the eyes and coax her, but he needed to drive, or they wouldn’t be able to return home before it was dark.

“…” Ventina still ignored him and pulled her hand back.

Seeing as she was still ignoring him, Ven felt a little desperate. At this rate, would she ask him to cancel their wedding?

“What do you want me to do for you to forgive me? Hm?” Ven asked as he tried to grasp her hand again but failed to do so.

Ventina still ignored him after all the talking and coaxing he did. Ven felt really helpless at this point and he sighed as he parked the car by the side of the road.

“Alright. I’m sorry. I was wrong to call you childish. I’ll do anything you want. Will you forgive me?” Ven pulled her hand so she would turn to face him.

Ventina turned her head away as she ignored him.

Helpless, Ven gently touched her face and forcefully made her turn to look at him and said, “Darling, please forgive me. I’ll do anything you want. How about this. I’ll let you do whatever you want to me tonight. I won’t complain about anything and tell you to stop even if I feel like my energy’s been drained until I’m dying.”

Ventina’s ears perked up when she heard him call her ‘Darling’. She really like this word somehow. It had such a nice ring to it! However, she couldn’t possibly give in to him so easily.

“Darling, please~” Ven used his puppy eyes on her.

Ventina couldn’t resist the temptation and gave in finally, “You promised. I can do anything I want to you tonight. No objections.”

“Of course!” Ven smiled handsomely as he moved in to peck her on the lips before continuing the drive. He finally managed to coax her! The two of them then held hands lovingly all the way until home.
