Chapter 211: “Reunion”

Chapter 211: “Reunion”

“Grandfather!” Kazuya called out in alarm.

The man followed Kazuya’s line of sight and sneered.

“Wake him up.” The man ordered as he gestured for the former king to be dragged to him.

One of the men dragged him to the man and splashed cold water onto the former king’s head.

The cold water jolted the old man awake.

“W-where is this?” the former king slowly tried to stand up, but his arms and legs were also tied.

“Grandfather!” Kazuya shouted worriedly.

“Kazuya?” the former king looked towards Kazuya’s direction and saw that the area around his stomach looked like it had been kicked.

“Are you alright?” Kazuya’s grandfather asked worriedly.

“Oh, do you have the time to be worrying about other people?” the man who was back at his throne asked in a dangerous tone.

The two of them turned to look at the man and the former king’s expression changed.

“Michael, so you’re really still alive.” The former king muttered bitterly.

“What? Aren’t you happy to see your dear old friend anymore? Isn’t this the part where you should come and hug your friend after not seeing him for a thousand year?” Michael sneered sarcastically.

This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.

“We stopped being friends the moment you targeted my family.” The former king replied determinedly.

“Oh, how unfortunate. If you had still regarded me as a friend, I was thinking of sparing your life.” Michael said as he walked towards the two of them after taking out a gun. He then gestured for his subordinates to hang the old man too.

“Huh, even if you say that, I know that you won’t kill us just yet, right? I know that your ultimate goal is to overthrow the current monarch. That means that you need us as leverage so that my son, the current king, will hand the throne over to you in exchange for us. Not only that, you know that by killing me, it’ll be the same as you killing my wife, your first love.” Kazuya’s grandfather taunted.

“Pfft!” Michael let out a laugh as he made a face like he was hearing a joke before he continued, “My dear friend, how many years ago was that? You still believe that I have feelings for her? But you know what? The first part is correct. Therefore, I’ll need you guys to look especially pitiful for me.”

Michael then sneered as he pointed a gun to Kazuya’s heart without any hesitation.

Bang!

The sound of the bullet echoed inside the spacious room.

“Urgh!” Kazuya groaned when he felt the pain that was slowly creeping in. Normally, weapons from the human realm did no damage to demons. However, the weapons used by this man was as expected, adjusted so that it could inflict harm upon demons. Not only that, the heart was a vital organ for a demon. If they were to be shot elsewhere, they could still recover but once the heart is destroyed, there was no way of recovering.

“Just kidding! Remember that I still need you guys to be alive? There’s no way I’m going to let you die so easily like that.” The man laughed hysterically like a psychopath.

Kazuya looked towards the place where he was just shot. The location was very near to his heart, making him feel a chill down his spine.

To be able to aim right above the heart without any hesitation, this man’s marksmanship wasn’t ordinary.

Even though he wasn’t hit in the heart, blood still flowed out. A vampire’s self-healing ability was very high, so Kazuya wasn’t that worried about running out of blood.

“Right, onto the next one.” Michael said before he moved his hands to aim at Kazuya’s grandfather.

Kazuya immediately felt alarmed. Although vampires were fine even if they were injured, his grandfather had lost quite a lot of magical power during the war with the humans so Kazuya was afraid that he wouldn’t be able to self-heal.

“No! don’t shoot grandfather!” Kazuya shouted.

However, he was too late.

Bang!

Michael shot his friend without any hesitation as he sneered.

“Oops! Too late!” Michael said as he looked at Kazuya with eyes filled with amusement.

“Urgh!” Kazuya’s grandfather groaned as he felt that something was wrong. He had been looking at Kazuya the whole time after he was shot and saw that Kazuya’s wound showed no signs of healing. Blood just continued to flow out.

“Grandfather!” Kazuya shouted when he saw the old man’s pale face.

“Oh, right. I forgot to tell you two. This is a special bullet that prevents demons, especially you vampires, to regenerate cells. Simply put, you guys won’t be healing yourselves until the bullet gets out of your body. But then again, I’m sure that my wise friend over there already noticed this, right?” Michael laughed happily.

How great it felt to torture the one he’s been hating for over a millennium…
