Chapter 72: What If I Said No?

Chapter 72: What If I Said No?

"Okay… I'll believe you…" Lilica said softly.

"Do you still feel tired? Do you want to rest some more?" Kazuya asked gently, afraid that she would be feeling tired from their stressful talk.

"No." Lilica shook her petite head and continued hugging Kazuya tightly.

"Then, how about we go around town for sightseeing? Its been a while since you've left the demon realm, many things have changed since then. Do you want to go see them?" Kazuya asked, trying to cheer her up with a date.

"Okay! Oh! By the way, I texted Ven yesterday and he said he wanted to meet me. Do you think you can drop me at the town square? We usually meet up there." Lilica said as she was reminded of her promise with Ven.

Kazuya's face darkened when Lilica mentioned Ven. How did his first date with her suddenly become him dropping her off so she could go to another guy?

"What if I said no?" Kazuya said, his tone filled with jealousy and disappointed.

Lilica noticed his disappointed tone and said, "I already promised him earlier, so I need to go. You see…Actually, Ven proposed to me the morning of the day before yesterday and I still haven't given him an answer yet." As Lilica finished her sentence, she glanced at Kazuya to see his reaction.

'Propose? The day before yesterday was the day after Lilica had gone missing. It seems like that punk is really brave, making a move on my woman. It seems like I really need to kill that guy.' Kazuya thought to himself, 'Furthermore, to think that that guy actually proposed to Baby before I did is unforgivable.' Kazuya's faced darkened with each evil thought forming in his mind.

Lilica noticed his jealousy filled face and felt quite happy. But she really needed to go and talk with Ven so that there wouldn't be any misunderstandings between the two of them.

"I'll go with you. Whatever you need to talk with him, I'll be there with you." Kazuya sweetly said, trying to stick with her all he time, valuing every second.

"It's fine. I'm sure you still have some work to do right? After all, we haven't touched any work at all ever since that day. I'll be sure to make it quick, so I can accompany you to do your work quickly." Lilica said, worried about his workload.

"My brother's already woken up. We can just push the work to him. Originally, it was all his work, so he should be the one to do it." Kazuya stubbornly insisted on staying with Lilica.

"You… Sigh…I pity Kazuki for having a brother like you… He's just woken up and even Mother said that he still needs to rehabilitate right? Don't just push all the work to him." Lilica said as she felt bad for the recently woken up Kazuki.

"I want to stay with you all the time. We haven't even had our first date yet and now you're going on a date with a guy who proposed to you. Don't you think that I will feel jealous and sulky at all?" Kazuya whispered sulkily as he pulled Lilica in for a light hug.

'Who said we haven't had our first date yet? ...Wait, we really haven't had a date yet!' Lilica thought to herself as she searched her memory. Since the beginning, they had only met each other at hotels and just recently, they had met at the company and that was all. They had never really done any lover-like things, even though they were engaged now.

Feeling a little guilty, Lilica suggested, "Then…Why don't we go on a date now? Then after that, I'll meet up with Ven and you can go do your work."

"…You're still going to go on a date with that bastard?" Kazuya frowned as he saw how Lilica still insisted on meeting that guy.

"It's not a date! I'm just going to go and explain our circumstances and reject his proposal, that's all!" Lilica quickly explained why she had insisted on meeting Ven.

"Then bring me along! If it's not a date then it should be fine, right?" Kazuya still stubbornly insisted on going.

"Darling, I want to sort this out with him by myself. I promise that after this one time, you can tag along with us wherever we go!" Lilica said as she tried to make Kazuya come to a compromise, without realizing what she had called him.

When Kazuya heard Lilica utter the word 'darling', he was pleasantly surprised, and he couldn't hear what she had said after that word. He was on cloud nine and felt like nothing mattered anymore. It was the first time Lilica had ever called him 'darling', moreover, it came out so naturally from her mouth that it felt like she had been using the word 'darling' to refer to him for a long time.
