The three of them arrived at Sharon’s apartment quickly and rushed to her room. Sharon hurriedly opened the door for them. Kazuya’s eyes searched for Lilica and quickly ran towards her.
“Lilica, are you okay?” Kazuya asked, his voice shaking.
“…” Lilica didn’t reply, her face still pale.
Kazuya gently hugged her and patted her back to console her and said gently, “You’re safe now. Don’t be scared. Everything’s alright. I’m here.”
“…*sob* Kazuya… *sob* I was so scared.” Lilica slowly muttered as she came back to her senses slowly. His warm touch had made her start feeling relieved. Her tears ran down her soft cheeks uncontrollably as she thought of the incident.
Kazuya didn’t know what to do to stop her tears, so he just sat there and stroked her head gently to console her and whispered gently, “It’s alright now. I’m here.”
Mr. Stell saw his precious daughter sobbing uncontrollably and his heart ached. If he hadn’t held onto his stupid pride and forbid the two of them to meet, his daughter wouldn’t have met with danger. Mr. Stell knew that Kazuya would be able to protect Lilica better than he could.
Lilica couldn’t stop crying at all, making Kazuya feel helpless. Kazuya continued stroking her head to console her and turned to ask Sharon, “What happened?”
“As you know, the two of us went to the mall today. We then met with Ven and Ventina there and continued shopping together. When we were going down the escalator, Lilica was suddenly pushed from behind. Luckily, Ven caught her in time so she was uninjured. All of us then decided to go home since it was dangerous. However, when we were going to the parking lot, Lilica was attacked again. Ven was near her and saved her but she’s pretty shaken.” Sharon summarized what happened, intentionally not telling him that she was attacked by a knife. She knew that if she had included this detail, Kazuya would immediately become enraged.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
“How was she attacked?” Kazuya asked, his voice cold and dangerous.
“That’s…” Sharon hesitated.
“A knife came flying at her, your highness.” Ven answered when he saw Sharon’s troubled face.
Kazuya’s face darkened as he continued listening to Ven’s report on what had happened. His heart was aching at the thought of how much it had scared Lilica. His anger grew and grew as he thought of what could have happened to Lilica.
Lilica cried her heart out and fell asleep without realizing. Kazuya saw that Lilica had fallen asleep, so he carried her to the bed for her to sleep properly. He then kissed her creased eye brows and turned to Mr. Stell and said, “Mr. Stell. I have something to tell you.”
Mr. Stell didn’t retort as usual. Right now, he wasn’t in the mood to spite anyone. He knew that what Kazuya wanted to talk to him about was surely something about Lilica, so he stayed silent and followed Kazuya out of the room so the two of them can have a talk.
Mrs. Stell stayed in the room to take care of daughter. Ven and Ventina excused themselves as they saw that Kazuya had already arrived. Kazuya’s presence should make Lilica’s condition better. They had nothing to worry about, so they decided to go home.
In the study room
The two of them sat on a sofa opposite each other. Kazuya then spoke up, “Mr. Stell, regarding this time’s incident, I have an idea on who the culprit might be.”
“Really?! Who?” Mr. Stell asked, surprised that he would have an idea so quickly.
“I’m sure you are familiar with the name Elvin Rochester. I believe this time’s incident may be related to that guy.” Kazuya said with conviction. Actually, Kazuya didn’t want to use the fact that they had a common enemy to make Mr. Stell willing to accept him. He wanted Mr. Stell to accept him for himself.
“How do you know that name?” Mr. Stell asked, his voice filled with anger and hatred.
“He is the number one suspect on our list of suspects that was behind many incidents related to the royal family. What I’m abut to say is confidential information.” Kazuya voice was also filled with anger and hatred. He then continued, “My brother, the first prince, Kazuki, was almost assassinated around 4 months ago. The incident was masked as a car accident, but we discovered that the car ad no driver and there was nothing wrong with the car, except the fact that it was made from material that could harm demons. My brother was in a vegetative state for three months before he fortunately woke up. However, during the 3 months’ time, the royal family’s life was in danger many times. I believe the enemy’s motive is to assassinate the whole royal family to take over the demon realm.”
