The banquet went on for several hour peacefully. Kazuya brought Lilica to meet with many important figures in the demon realm. When the banquet was over, and all the guests had gone back, it was finally time to deal with the prisoner.
As Lilica was pregnant, Kazuya didn’t want her to go to dungeon here it was dirty and wasn’t suitable for her current state. However, Lilica insisted on going with Kazuya to interrogate Lacey as she didn’t want them to be alone even for the interrogation.
Meanwhile in the dungeon cell, Lacey was trembling with fear. She knew she was done for. Kazuya had intentionally left her with her phone to monitor her actions. He knew that there was no way that Lacey had got this idea to harm his wife by herself.
Lacey panicked, and her last resort was to call a certain number for help…
At a certain place in the human world
“…” A man answered his phone silently.
“Help me… I can’t escape from here!” A high-pitched voice sounded from the other side of the phone.
“Why should I help you?” The man let out a sinister chuckle.
“I gave you many information, right?” The woman said with a shaky voice.
“Such as?” The man feigned ignorance.
“That Kazuya’s fiancée was pregnant and that they had come back to the demon world!” The woman shouted, her voice desperate.
“Such information is easy to come by. Just one glance at the news and it’s obvious.” The man said as he played around with his knife in one hand.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“You… You were the one who told me to kill her! You said that everything would work out fine and look how it turned out! I’m chained to this dungeon! How am I supposed to ever get out?!” Lacey shouted.
“And you were the one who insisted on getting the drug yourself? You also insisted that you would execute the plan yourself.” The man said as he revealed a bone-chilling smirk.
“That’s…” Lacey couldn’t retort since it was true. She wanted to see Lilica’s desperate expression herself as she died.
“Sorry, but you’re useless to me now that you’ve been caught, Missy. Goodbye!” The man said in a playful tone. However, to Lacey, it sounded sinister, making her tremble even more.
“Wait!” Lacey shouted, hoping that there was still room for negotiation. However, all she heard after that was the tone that meant that the other side had hung up.
Her face became pale as she was struck with fear. The creeping fear of being killed was killing her. After all, a dead man tells no tales. She quickly pleaded the guard to bring Ken to see her as quickly as possible. She knew Kazuya wouldn’t’ listen to her no matter what so she had requested to meet Ken instead. At least, she would be helping the man she loved by telling of the danger that was creeping in.
Back to a certain place
The man hung up his phone and let out a hysterical laugh, causing his lackeys goosebumps.
“B-boss! How should we deal with that woman?” One of the lackeys asked fearfully.
“Kill her.” The man replied in an ice-cold voice as he revealed a murderous look.
“Yes, boss!” The lackey replied resolutely as he turned to order the others to contact one of their spies in the palace.
The man took out his phone once again and dialed a certain number.
“…Yes?” A woman’s voice sounded from the other end fearfully after a few seconds.
“Hey~ How come I haven’t heard you report anything? Whether it be when the second prince came back or that his fiancée was pregnant.” The man asked sarcastically.
“…” There was no answer from the other end.
“So, you choose loyalty over love, huh?” The man said as he revealed a sinister smirk.
“…” There was still no answer.
“Don’t forget your husband’s life is in my hands. Should I chop off his fingers to show you?” The man threatened as he gestured for one of his lackeys to ready their torture equipment.
“No! Don’t do anything to him!” The woman quickly shouted, her voice filled with fear.
“Good. So, you still care about your little husband. Give me some good intel. Whether your husband go back to you in one piece or not depends on your actions.” The man threatened.
“… The second princess is two months into her pregnancy.” The woman lied.
“And?” The man asked for more information.
“…They are going to have their wedding around next month…” The woman told the truth that she had heard from the queen. With pregnancy, it was still difficult to tell but lying about the wedding was just too risky. She knew that the man had several spies planted in the palace.
“Anything else?” The man asked impatiently.
“No… I haven’t heard anything else.” The woman replied fearfully.
“I’ll let you go this time. Just give me more information next time. Don’t forget about the little life that I can crush anytime.” The man threatened before hanging up.
“Boss, are we going to attack them on their wedding?” One of the lackies asked with a wicked smile.
“Let them enjoy the happiness while it lasts. We’ve been attacking them too often right now. They might get a clue of who we are. After their wedding, we can just kill one of them and the three of them would be dead. Talk about killing three birds with one stone. What a convenient tradition the demon has.” The man said as he laughed hysterically once again.
