“I see. Then I’ll go over in about a few minutes.” Ron replied as he got up to shower. In his mind, he already saw Ellie’s father as irresponsible. Although he knew that her father could possibly be the enemy, he still felt that he should have a sense of responsibility as a father. How could he leave his daughter all alone by herself for so many years?
As their houses weren’t so far apart, Ron arrived at Ellie’s place within a few minutes by car.
Ron pressed the doorbell, stuffed his hands in his pockets, waiting for Ellie. Almost immediately, the door opened, as if Ellie had been waiting for him from the other side of the door.
“You came!” Ellie exclaimed happily.
“Of course. I already agreed to come over.” Ron replied matter-of-factly. He then glanced inside her house curiously. Her house was quite spacious and decorated luxuriously. However, it had an empty and lonely feel to it as it was too big for one person.
“Come in! I made pancakes for breakfast. Is that okay with you?” Ellie invited him in, stealing glances at his clothes secretly.
The outfit he was wearing today was coincidentally the same as the ones he had wore when they first met. On that fateful day, Ellie had found a handkerchief that Ron’s other had dropped. Ellie had returned it without thinking too much but that was what caught Ron’s mother’s eyes. The two of them had a chat and got along quite well and realized that they had chatted with each other until evening. Ellie escorted his mother until her house and that was when she saw Ron walking out of the house.
The white shirt and black trousers that would look completely normal on everyone somehow enhanced Ron’s harmless and kind aura. The sight of his dashing figure made Ellie fell for him. After that day, Ellie frequented his house to accompany his mother for tea and chat for a while, hoping to catch a glimpse of her first love. Of course, being an elder, his mother noticed Ellie’s intentions and decided to see how things would play out for these two. One day, Ellie decided to gather her courage to ask his mother whether she could be one of his fiancée candidates, thinking that he was probably very popular and had many candidates. Hearing this, his mother quickly established their engagement.

“Where’s the dining room?” Ron’s voice interrupted her thoughts of the past.
Ellie realized then that she had stopped walking and was just admiring his back from behind.
“I’ll lead you there!” Ellie quickly ran up to him and showed him the way.
Soon, the two were in the dining room and two sets of breakfasts were already on the table.
The breakfast looked so extravagant that Ron was caught by surprise.
“Did you make all this by yourself?” Ron asked as he took in the enticing fragrance of the pancake.
“Yes. Ah! Do you not like pancakes?” Ellie frowned when she thought that he may not like to eat pancakes.
“No… I just thought that you’re amazing!” Ron smiled as he walked towards the plate on the table.
“!” Ellie immediately blushed when he complimented her.
The two then walked to their respective seats and Ellie served him some tea. She also put the medicine she got from her father into the tea. Since her father had said that it could be eaten together, that meant that she could just dilute the medicine into the tea.
“Do you have coffee? I don’t really drink tea.” Ron asked when he saw her pouring another cup for him.
“I’m sorry. I don’t drink coffee so there’s none in this house.” Ellie replied, feeling a little disappointed that she couldn’t offer him the things he wanted.
“It’s fine. I can drink the tea too.” Ron tried to cheer her up.
“I’m so sorry.” Ellie looked down. If she had known better, she would have bought some coffee beans so she could serve him!
“It’s fine. Now let’s start eating or it will go cold.” Ron tried to change the topic when he saw how disappointed she looked.
“Okay.” Ellie replied as she sat down and watched him take the first bite.
Noticing her stare, Ron looked up, chewing.
“How is it?” Ellie asked, her eyes filled with expectations.
“It’s delicious! It’s even better than the ones from my chef at home!” Ron complimented her honestly as he took another bite. Maybe it was because she had put bacon on the plate too, Ron really loved it since it was to his liking.
Ellie blushed slightly as she couldn’t hide her happiness. This was the first time that she had eaten a meal with someone and cooked for someone. Although she had tried cooking for her father before, he would just say that he was busy or that he had already eaten. This feeling of having someone, especially her crush, appreciate her efforts made her feel so happy that she couldn’t stop smiling for days!
