After Kazuki reported the incident to his father, the king’s face turned grim. Could this new girl be a spy? But shouldn’t Ron’s mother at least do a background check on the girl that’s marrying his son first?
“What did the girl say his name was?” The king asked his son.
“Michael Wilson.” Kazuki replied.
The king then used the only ancient magic he was trained to use. As most of the documents concerning the country were done in paper, to find out who someone was, this was the only way. It was the type of magic that was passed down from his grandfather to each king. Kazuki still hadn’t begun his training yet so wasn’t able to use it.
The king mumbled a few words as he drew a magic circle in the air. At that moment, the books on the bookshelf started moving. However, no book came out of the shelf even though the magic was to search for the name ‘Michael Wilson’.
This confirmed their suspicions. Michael Wilson wasn’t registered, which meant that he was most probably the enemy.
“Kazuki. Try to find a way to get the girl to show a photo of her father. Also, get her to tell us as much information as possible.” The king ordered.
“Yes, Father.” Kazuki replied before the two of them excused themselves from the room.
The king then gathered his investigations and gave them more clues to search for the enemy.

Back at the living room
After a few minutes, Kazuki and Lilienne returned to the room together. Lilienne approached Ellie and led her to a corner of the room to continue asking her questions for Kazuki. She knew that her three friends were probably very curious why Kazuki used hypnotism.
“Kazuki, explain to us now. Why did you use hypnotism just then?” Sharon asked curiously.
“You all know that there’s someone targeting us, right?” Kazuki asked back.
“Yeah. What does that have to do with this?” Zeke asked, feeling confused.
“Well, she’s most probably the mastermind’s daughter.” Kazuki answered as he looked at Ron’s shocked face and continued seriously, “I don’t think that Ellie is involved in this herself. Ron, I’ll need you to try to get as many information from Ellie as possible. I know that you might not want to use her like this but it’s for the sake of the demon realm.”
“A-Are you sure? I mean, she’s just a high schooler, you know? The enemy’s been attacking you guys for over centuries, right?” Ron asked as he felt like his soul left his body. He suddenly couldn’t comprehend what Kazuki was talking about.
“Her father is the enemy. Ellie’s innocent.” Kazuki reminded him since it seemed like Ron had misunderstood. His brain probably short-circuited for a moment from shock.
“Still…” Ron seemed to be against the idea of using Ellie to get more information on the enemy.
“Please! I really need you to do this! Of course, we’ll try to protect Ellie the best we can. She’s innocent after all.” Kazuki pleaded him.
Letting Ron, who was the closest to Ellie do the questioning was better than letting others ask her since it would seem strange.
“Sigh… Fine… Just this once!” Ron gave in. He really didn’t like the idea of using others to get information, but he knew that this was a very crucial step to find the enemy.
“Thank you! I’ll leave it to you then.” Kazuki said as he felt like they were finally able to find clues on the enemy.
On the other hand, Lilienne was successful in her questions and Ellie gave her a copy of her father’s photo when she was young and one that was taken recently.
Lilienne then commented, “Your father looks so young! He looks like he’s still in his thirties!”
“Well, the strange thing is that my father’s face never aged even after all these years. Maybe it’s because we’re demons.” Ellie replied.
However, even for demons, their face would still age a little, at least every ten years. The fact that her father’s face hadn’t aged at all was strange. A demon’s face generally starts to age slower after 25 years old. After that, their faces would look a little older every ten years. Since demons could live up to 1000 or even 2000 years, aging slowly was normal. But Ellie’s father’s face looked like he had gone back in time rather than aging up, according to the photos Ellie showed to Lilienne.
After that Lilienne tried to dig for more information from the girl but Ellie really didn’t know a lot of things about her father. It was probably because she grew up without him.
