Chapter 3 It's Time to Leave...
(Marinkia’s POV)
It wasn’t like my food or water supply was running out. I made sure to ration it, even though I had a surplus that would last a decent while. As such, that wasn’t the reason why I needed to leave.
Marinkia: “Cough” I cough, trying not to throw up.
The still shambling bodies that were the undead, had still stunk to all hell with them in the process of rotting. Even though my room hasn’t been breached, the smell was enough to make me horribly sick from smelling it.
Literally… it was like being overwhelmed by the smell of urine, or something along those lines. Which meant that it was actually hard to breathe now. Not to mention, smelling in these smells will probably affect my health…
With nothing left to do, I decided to leave my apartment. I planned to take with me a few changes of clothes, my food and water supplies, and my one knife that Mai graciously gave me back.
Getting down from this kind of height will be hard, but not impossible. With me being very active, and having gone to rock climb a lot, I should be able to scale the building by jumping down from each balcony of each room.
From outside the window, I could see that the streets were mostly cleared up. The sun would make the rotting of the zombies faster, and, before the fall, it was already known that zombies tend to only go out during the night, or linger in dark places such as buildings or dark shadows.
Opening up the door, I walked outside to my balcony. The fire of death was abundant in the air, almost sickeningly so…
Zombie: “Growl!” He shouted.
Jumping out of my bones, I quickly hurried to the opposite side of my balcony where the zombie was. There was a zombie in Mai’s apartment? Even though she robbed me, I hope that she didn’t die…
With its arms pointed toward me, the zombie clearly wanted to kill and eat me. But instead, due to it being somewhat stupid, it just kept walking in place, with the rails of the balcony preventing it from falling to its, uh… second death.
Marinkia: “How silly…” I scoff.
Staying on the safe side, I could see six other zombies on Mai’s balcony. None of them looked like her, though. Grabbing on the railing, it was easy for me to flip to the other side of it and drop down to the lower balcony.

Swish!
The heck? One of those zombies had fallen down… and all the way to the ground floor at that. Soon, the rest of the undead had followed his lead, and they all became paste on the ground far down.
Marinka: “…”
Well, since they’re gone, I should look inside Mai’s apartment. After all, if she did die, I should at least get back what she had stolen from me. Not out of spite, but since if she was dead, Mai wouldn’t have any use of it.
A Short Re-climb Later.
The room smelled horrible, and it was clear that Mai wasn’t in the place any longer. Rather than climb down like me, she must have just left from her door and tried to escape that way. Before leaving, I quickly re-closed the open door and locked it.
I really don’t want more undead to go flying. Especially if I just so happen to be standing under where they fall. Even in the process of rotting, having a human sized body fall on you from such a height would certainly kill you.
Ah, I forgot to mention, but the reason why I knew that Mai left and wasn’t in the room… was due to the fact that my backpack that she stole from me wasn’t in the room at all. Not in any closet or bathroom. I checked everywhere.
Well, at least there is some hope that she escaped. Being a lesbian, I am pretty partial to pretty women. Even the ones that just so happen to steal things from me. God help me if I ever get into a relationship… Welp, time to start climbing down this building… Ah, forty floors, please don’t take as longer than I think that it will take…
Hours of Climbing Later.
Now at the ground floor, I took out my knife and carefully left the main area of the apartment building. If I was a good person, then I would have put down any zombie that I came across. You know, a mercy kill.
Marinkia: “Sorry, Garry…” I say with a remorseful bow.
The guard of the apartment building, was stuck inside his small office where the car blocker was operated at. It seems that he got bit, and decided to lock himself inside, so as to not hurt others. Garry was always a good old dude…
This city was now dead, and it was a striking thing to witness. Only the rich would drive old vehicles such as cars, so all of the roads were completely clear. Everyone else, including me, all drove flying vehicles.
In fact, if it wasn’t for that fuck, Grant, we could easily survive by flying away to somewhere safe. But that isn’t the case anymore. All of a sudden, there was a shockingly loud notification sound from my PC.
Opening it up, it was a message from that asshole, Grant… Basically, in ten minutes, all access to PC’s will be completely revoked. Meaning that we won’t be able to use them anymore.
This is one of the times where I wish that I had listened to that shady saleswoman, and jailbreak my PC. If I did listen, I could be able to still have a PC to use. Man… if only someone saw what was happening to Grant, then this all wouldn’t have happened…
Being a complete idiot, I didn’t notice my surroundings at all. The notification sound was loud, enough to draw the attention of any undead. Not to mention, I was a distance aways from the apartment, under the shade of a large building…
Woman: “Do you wish to die, or do you wish to live?” She asked in a sweet voice.
Marinkia: “…”
Currently, there were a few hundred zombies around me. Possibly, there might have been more than 500 of them. They surrounded me in a circle, not approaching at all. The one that did approach me, was a beautiful woman.
Her eyes were a deep, glaring and seemingly glowing blood red. Her hair was a beautiful, ashen white. She was… quite possibly the most beautiful woman that I have ever seen. What did she say about dying? What even is this situation?…
