Xue Ting instantly recognised the same petite woman whom she had seen scurrying off that day from Qiu Wen's office and followed her. "Who are you?! Come out now!" She demanded.

"Liew Wei?" Xue Ting asked when the recording ended.

"Ms… Mrs… Tang…" Liew Wei panicked as she stuttered.

"Waiting for Ms. Wei?" Xue Ting asked nonchalantly as Liew Wei shuddered in fear.

"Well, look here, the meeting has started though. If Ms. Wei walks in and finds out, what will she do right?" Xue Ting prompted and Liew Wei knew she was in deep trouble.

Xue Ting gave her a smirk. "Tell me, was all these eavesdropping and making Jia Yi's life hard at work, Ms. Wei's instruction?" Liew Wei kept quiet as she kept her eyes looking down on the floor, guilty. Anything she said was just an excuse at that point.

Liew Wei's phone started to vibrate and it was Francesca's ID on the phone.

"Liew Wei, why don't you work with me too?" Xue Ting offered after observing her for a while. Liew Wei frowned at wanting to pick up the call or deal with her threat.

"Nothing difficult. I won't make your life difficult. Just report to me any of her absurd requests daily and stop making things difficult for Jia Yi. If you both could work out the schemes daily, Jia Yi and I could stage an act often to cover for you…" Xue Ting offered as she handed Liew Wei her name card when Liew Wei's phone vibrated again to an incoming call.

Liew Wei took the name card shakily. "Don't worry Liew Wei. If you have heard from Jia Yi before, I treat my people well. To start, you should go ahead and tell Ms. Wei the meeting has ended cause I changed the meeting earlier. Let her vent about me." Liew Wei blinked and knew Xue Ting was right about protecting people who worked for her.

"Thank… Thank You, Mrs. Tang." Liew Wei thanked her before rushing off to deal with Francesca.

Xue Ting sighed hoping Liew Wei would know better to side with them and work with Jia Yi. She lamented the tough work life Jia Yi had.

It's no wonder he is still single. Qiu Wen should reward and treat him better… Xue Ting smiled to herself as Qiu Wen's call came, signaling their meeting had ended and it was time to call it a day.

"How do you do your work, Liew Wei?! I clearly told you I need this opportunity to turn my wrongs into rights! Look at what you have done!" Francesca bellowed away at the lobby as Xue Ting walked up to them, keeping her promise to Liew Wei to protect her discreetly.

Xue Ting also noticed Liew Wei had not brought up anything about her meet with her or pinning all the wrongs to Xue Ting. From then on, Xue Ting knew Liew Wei was just doing her work as she decided to help her out.

"Trouble with work, Ms. Wei?" Xue Ting asked while folding her arms.

"Let me give you a piece of advice Ms. Wei. Start signing up for business proposal writing classes. It helps a lot and you don't have to waste time rushing here and there. It's not the price that's essential only in this industry. Negotiations only happen when the client appreciates the drafts and proposal." Xue Ting snarled at Francesca before walking away towards Qiu Wen who had just stepped out with Mr. Quan.

"You get back to the office now! Make sure you continue what you do properly tomorrow!" Francesca scolded Liew Wei through her gritted teeth as she stormed off to the car at the lobby while Liew Wei could only nod and endure Francesca's temper. A part of her was feeling thankful towards Xue Ting and wished she had worked under the Tang brothers or better still under Xue Ting. She smiled recalling the name card. It was her chance and she was determined to put it to good use.

She sent an apology message to Jia Yi that night. Jia Yi who had discharged was resting at home when he saw the text message.

"Jia Yi, I'm sorry. Very sorry for spiking the cake. I hope you're well. I didn't want to harm you. Don't worry, Mrs. Tang handled well your tasks today. I'm sorry for all the schemes you had to encounter. Ms. Wei is always up to no good and I could only do my job. But now, I would like to take up Mrs. Tang's offer to help you out instead. I will tell you tomorrow or when you're back to work on how to manage Ms. Wei's unreasonable demands on Mr. Tang. Rest well and I'm sorry again."

Jia Yi sighed, half relieved knowing Xue Ting did well today but was worried if Qiu Wen knew he had given her trouble, his job might be at risk. Instead of replying to Liew Wei, he sent a text message thanking Xue Ting instead.

Xue Ting smiled receiving the grateful message from Jia Yi while strolling with Qiu Wen in the late evening. "Sweetie, I had a design request from Mr. Jiu today. It's for his wife." Qiu Wen held Xue Ting's hand.

Xue Ting raised an eyebrow at him and smiled as she hummed in acknowledgment.

"He wanted some plum flower designs for a piece of jewelry. Well, he hasn't given her anything of such for a long while. So…" Qiu Wen paused midway looking at her smiling as though she was not bothering.

"Are you listening?" He finally asked as she chuckled at his question.

"Yes, Mr. Tang. I was thinking of what to present." She teased him as he stole a kiss in revenge.

"You have been a great helper today. Should I fire my assistant and replace him with you?" He said gently after their lingering kiss as she grinned.

"No. Instead, he has been doing a great job. I'm not sure you are aware of what war he had to face daily all thanks to that witch. But no. You should instead raise his pay and give him a better work-life balance. This recent incident is planned by none other than the witch and her secretary. However, worry not, Mr. Tang. I have got them under control for you and Jia Yi as well as Qiu Yeh." Xue Ting nonchalantly explained to him as she began to stroll a little more.

"What exactly happened earlier?" He jogged a little to catch up with her as she explained the entire day's event to him and he was caught by surprise by the news.

"If that's the case, I think I know what to do from now on." He concluded. "What?" She questioned.

"Play along." He smirked as a phone call from Qiu Yeh interrupted them.

"Bro heard about Mr. Jiu's request. I felt this is a good…" Qiu Wen put him on loudspeaker instead for Xue Ting to listen in.

"... move to counter Francesca. It feels like she intends to dominate the branch's operation. However, from the looks of things, your branch has been receiving lots of customise orders lately…" Qiu Yeh cleared his throat for a moment as Qiu Wen smiled and gave Xue Ting a knowing look as Xue Ting frowned.

"Having said so, let's change the branch concept. Instead of accommodating Wai Tao's order, why don't you take on customised orders from everywhere?" Qiu Yeh concluded and only then realise the other line was silent. "Hello? Qiu Wen? Have you been listening?"

"Yes… Well, that would depend on the availability of my Design Advisor. You know she is contracted by the way?" Qiu Wen was half teasing Xue Ting who was annoyed by it as she thought it would be impossible for her to take on full-time.

"Then, please take my sister-in-law out for a nice candle-lit dinner and coax her well. I'm prepared to pay a premium or even hire her full-time if needed." Qiu Yeh offered.

"Consider this deal done." Qiu Wen said as Xue Ting frantically wanted to reject but Qiu Yeh spoke first.

"Having said so, let's start with Mr. Qiu's request as the next project following the earlier pilot was with the Auspicary couple. We will then navigate from there to see if we need to hire more or source for materials as such…" Qiu Yeh concluded as Qiu Wen smiled satisfyingly.

"Great. Speak to you soon brother." Qiu Wen hung up before Xue Ting could retaliate.

"You know I don't agree. Then?" Xue Ting folded her hands in defense.

"Honey, didn't you hear he was going to hire for you? You will have a team who runs for you and you are only required to review. When they do the work, you can still run the cafe." Qiu Wen tried coaxing her as he pulled her into his arms and strolled a little more.

"Oh don't forget, the twins can certainly help you out. Speaking of which, we can also hire a temporary assistant who can help out while you're gone from the cafe." Qiu Wen added which made Xue Ting roll her eyes in agitation at the way things were well thought out by both brothers.

She certainly did not need to worry about anything other than designing and materialising the product for them.

"So, let's head home and rest well. Cause we shall start tomorrow. Send me the designs two days from today and we will let Mr. Quan decide. I have a picture of his wife for you as a reference too." Qiu Wen added which caused Xue Ting to finally chuckle.

"You're so annoying. Both of you are so good at planning things for me as though I don't own my life." Xue Ting vented as Qiu Wen kissed her cheek.
