Francesca was busy working on releasing the news about Joy, a pro-found niche online designer who had missed the deadline. She didn't wait to release the second news as she had ordered the press to release two in one news that her mother is the one who had married Tang Qiu Wen recently.
Due to the chaos created by that news release, Qiu Wen had no choice but to turn up for work at the new branch early. He had been working with the PR team and his assistant, Jia Yi who was a close ally of Qiu Yeh, to release a statement of clarification.
"Qiu Wen, release your statement before the day ends else the damage would not be good, especially since you're new." Qiu Yeh warned over the phone as Qiu Wen sighed.
"Yes, bro. Working on it. Have you figured out who is the source of the news?" Qiu Wen questioned as Qiu Yeh chuckled.
"Isn't it obvious? Your love rival. Qiu Wen, do a proper job to guard the kids. Check on your wife too." Qiu Yeh warned again before he hang up. Qiu Wen quickly wrapped up the clarification statement to be released by the PR team clarifying that the twins are actually Xue Ting's siblings but to cover up and make formal registrations easier, Xue Ting had been nominated as the kids' guardian and mother.
Xue Ting was overwhelmed by the news as she tried to get hold of Qiu Wen only to realise she had never asked for his number and neither did he. Feeling restless, she stirred in bed for a long time waiting for him to be home only to drift asleep as it was too late.
That night when Qiu Wen returned home close to the waking hours of Xue Ting, he found Matthew fumbling in the kitchen. "Matthew? Are you alright?" Qiu Wen approached him as he helped Matthew to sit on the chair at the tabletop.
He could feel Matthew's body was scorching. "You're having a fever?" Qiu Wen asked as Matthew nodded and sniffed his runny nose.
Qiu Wen rushed over with the first aid and offered him the fever and cold tablets. "Get some rest." Qiu Wen said. "Thank you. Don't tell my mother please." Matthew said before heading up the stairs to sleep back as Qiu Wen nodded after some consideration.
Feeling worried, Qiu Wen wanted to leave a text to Xue Ting about Matthew's condition only to figure he didn't have her number all the while. Instead, he wrote a note and left it on the kitchen countertop. Xue Ting was awake soon after and wrote a reply to him which she left on his room's desk as he was sound asleep. She didn't only thank him for helping out with Matthew but also for the news.
Thereafter, she quickly went to check on Matthew who was still having a slight fever. She didn't wake Matthew but switched off his alarm as Joy went off to school alone by bus. Xue Ting didn't want to trouble Qiu Wen seeing how sound he was asleep as she left both Matthew and Qiu Wen's breakfast on the dining table covered with a net and a note.
Joy was walking towards the main gate with her best friend, Diane when the group of girl bullies approached her. They would only dare to do so when Matthew wasn't around.
"Joy! Stop where you are!" yelled Cherie the head of the school drama club.
Joy shuddered with anxiety but when she glanced at the front gate, the sight of Qiu Wen waiting for her made her more determined to retaliate against the bullies.
"What do you want from me now?!" Joy yelled in return with annoyance. It caught Diane by surprise as Joy usually fastened her pace to avoid trouble when Matthew wasn't around. She wondered where did she get her sense of sudden confidence.

Cherie was raging with anger at Joy's pitch as she raise her hand wanting to slap her but Diane managed to get in their way in time to stop Cherie.
Qiu Wen panicked as he watched Joy being bullied. He quickly ran over to them.
"You! Stay out of this! This feud is between me and Joy. If it wasn't because of her, I would have been dating Matthew!" Cherie yelled out to Diane as Qiu Wen heard them, bringing him to a halt.
One second he thought Joy was a victim due to the circumstances at home but he never expected it was due to her twin.
As the girls were scrambling and getting heated up at their squabbles, he knew he couldn't just stand there watching his daughter being bullied. After all, Xue Ting was his wife by law so that makes the twins his kids.
"Joy!" Qiu Wen called out.
The girls were startled as they look at who was calling out to her. Being quick-witted, she wanted to get back at the girls, so she decided to call him differently.
"Daddy!" She ran over to him with a winking eye to signal to him that it was all an act as he absentmindedly embraced her.
The girls were whispering in doubt as they knew the twins had grown up without a father. How could she simply call out to someone as her father?
"Please help me, Uncle Ryan... I'm sorry... " She whispered.
"It's alright... What's going on? Why are you being bullied? This is absurd!" Qiu Wen raised his voice slightly towards his last two sentences.
"The lead girl is someone Matt likes and she is also fond of him but she is never serious." Joy continued in her whispers.
"Uncle, you came right in time! These girls always bully her when Matthew is not around!" Diane said out loud trying to help as she walked up to them while she watched Qiu Wen listening attentively.
He walked up to the group of six girls and he smiled at Diane while walking past her.
"So, what are all of your names?" He asked gently.
"I'm Cherie. You must be really Matthew's father. Nice meeting you. They are my girlfriends, Lela, Jasmine, Song, Charmaine, and Wendy." Cherie smiled. Qiu Wen affirmed that she needed to be taught a lesson considering she even recognised him as Matthew's and not Joy's or both of their father.
"Very well, Cherie, Jasmine, Lela, Song, Charmaine, and Wendy." He turned around with his sunglasses held down a little.
"Princess, let's go to your principal's office." He walked past the girls as Joy was first taken by surprise by the sudden change in events as well as what he just called her. She let out a sinister smile to the girls who were freaking out and trailed along with Diane.
The group of girls was utterly shocked at what they were digging themselves into as they stood under the scorching hot sun dumbfounded.
"Mr. Tang, what brings you here on such a fine day?" Joy's home teacher Mdm. How was cooing at Qiu Wen. Joy finds it to be weird.
"Mdm. How, if this is how it's going to be from now on with the student's welfare not taken care of while being bullied for stupid reasons, I'm afraid I will just have to withdraw my investments." That statement alone was enough to send chills to the whole teacher's room while Joy stood in surprise again followed by Diane whose mouth was wide open enough for a fly to make a round trip in and out again. Mdm. How was looking back and forth at Joy and Qiu Wen as she began to realise their relationship.
"Mr. Tang! Oh, I didn't know that Joy and Matthew are your children. Come let's go on and discuss this further in my room..." The principal voiced, knowing a difficult situation was at hand.
"There's no need for that. Just ensure I don't see or hear of these six bullyings any of the kids in this school or I will seriously consider if my investment was worth it or not." Qiu Wen warned.
"Yes, yes Mr. Tang. Rest assured we will take the necessary measures and actions to ensure no bullies will occur in the future and the girls will be punished accordingly." Mdm. How assured before Qiu Wen stormed off with Joy and Diane.
"Daddy, you really have an investment in the school?" Joy asked curiously without caring anymore how she addressed him as he chuckled after a moment of surprise hearing her calling him "daddy".
"Yes, darling… The Tang family had always donated to the scholarship program." Qiu Wen explained as Diane was in awe.
"Shall we head for lunch together including you Diane?" Qiu Wen asked as Diane shook her head. "Ah, it's alright. I need to go. I have extra classes. See you, Joy!" Diane said as she ran off to the front gate.
"Did I scare her?" Qiu Wen asked as Joy laughed. "No… She really has extra classes. All the kids in the school go for it after school." Joy explained.
"How come you and Matthew are not?" Qiu Wen questioned as Joy sighed. "Daddy, it's not necessary to burden my mummy with it… Oh, oops…" Joy finally realised she had been calling him daddy as Qiu Wen laughed and patted her head.
"Feel free to call me that. I love listening to that." Qiu Wen comforted as Joy jumped up in excitement.
"Really, I can? Oh, then you can call me Qiu Qiu, my nickname!" For some reason, Joy from the start had already felt the urge to call him daddy as they both resembled each other in many ways, especially in their habits. Qiu Wen, on the other hand, had felt nothing else but comfortable being among the twins and Xue Ting from the beginning as though they all belonged to each other. Somehow her nickname made him wonder if only it sounded the same syllable as his Chinese name "Qiu".
"Let's keep today's problem a secret from mummy alright?" Joy suggested. Qiu Wen nodded as they both did a pinky promise with their little fingers. "Why were you today?" Joy asked. "The news about your identity..." He felt a little guilty that things might turn out more complicated.
"Don't worry. We just declared our parent-child relationship which is technical based on the news. It will be alright." Joy comforted as she got into the car as Qiu Wen drove them to lunch.
