With the birthday party being a success, it bothered Mrs. Tang for the next few days very much that Xue Ting and Qiu Wen's relationship was becoming the center of attention wherever she went. She was contemplating on visiting Xue Ting to demand her to sign the divorce papers again but a better idea popped into mind as she called her connections to prepare.
Mrs. Tang knows Joy's interest in design, hence she decided to use a different way to send a warning to Xue Ting. She had arranged an ambush robbery at Joy when the twins were leaving from school that afternoon. Fortunately, Matthew being quickwitted managed to protect Joy from injury. However, as he chased down the robbers and fought them, he unfortunately got himself a deep cut on his right arm before the robbers escaped.
Joy panicked when she found him with his heavy injury and knew it was not wise to call Xue Ting who would get overly hysterically. The school security was arranging for an ambulance to send them to the nearest hospital. So, she called Qiu Wen instead.
"Daddy!" Qiu Wen who was about to leave for lunch was alarmed at Joy's urgent voice coupled with the siren noise in her background.
"Qiu Qiu? Where are you? Are you alright?" Qiu Wen questioned as Jia Yi noticed his alarming state.
"Daddy, we are on the way to the hospital near our school. Can you come by? I don't dare to call mummy…" Joy said amidst her half crying.
"What happened? Alright, I will be there!" Qiu Wen rushed off with Jia Yi and instructed him to get the car.
"The… they…" Joy could not help but cry as Matthew was enduring the pain from the cut while trying to stay conscious to ensure Joy would be fine.
"Qiu Qiu, stay strong. Your brother needs you. I will reach soon, alright my dear. Promise me you will wait for me." Qiu Wen was struggling to keep Joy calm as he got into the car while Jia Yi sped to the hospital.
When they arrived, he caught Joy standing by the corner in the lobby with two school bags, looking very haggard.
"Qiu Qiu…" Qiu Wen rushed over to embrace Joy who dropped Matthew's school bag to hug him.
"Dadddyyy…" She called out while breaking down as Qiu Wen gently rubbed her back while worrying about Matthew.
"You're alright? I'm here. Don't worry sweetie. Let's check on how's Matthew doing alright?" Qiu Wen tried coaxing as Joy began to calm down.
"There… there were robbers and they tried to rob us but they failed cause Matthew pushed me aside. He… He ran after them and they… they injured his arm…" Joy explained slowly as Qiu Wen listened attentively.
"He will be alright. He will be fine. Did you tell mummy yet?" Qiu Wen asked. Joy shook her head as tears continued to flow.
"No… I… I don't know how…" Qiu Wen continued to hug Joy who tried to calm down while waiting for Matthew who had to be stitched up. Jia Yi was assisting with making a police report while assisting with administrative matters over the reception instead.
Xue Ting who was busy in the restaurant during lunch hour did not notice a message from Mrs. Tang. Instead, she got a call from Qiu Wen.
"Hello?" Xue Ting answered sweetly while finding it strange that the twins were not in the restaurant yet since it was nearly three in the afternoon.
"Ting Ting, is peak hours over at your end?" He asked in a serious tone which made Xue Ting frown when she heard the siren sound in the background.
"Yes, what's wrong? Where are you?" Xue Ting stood from the chair, beginning to panic.
"Listen, I'm with the twins. They were nearly robbed earlier but Matthew just had his stitches and will be discharged soon. Don't panic. I will send them back home." Qiu Wen explained as Xue Ting was already grabbing her belongings before heading towards Macy and Xiao Ji.
"Which hospital is it? I will come by." Xue Ting asked as Qiu Wen told her before she hung up.
"What's wrong? Why the hospital?" Xiao Ji asked worriedly. "The twins were nearly robbed. Ryan is with them. I need to go see them… Here… I …" Xue Ting could not think calmly about what to do to cover her shift.

"Go! Go! We can manage!" Macy urged and chased Xue Ting whose ankle had just recovered, rushed to her car as they watched her drive off.
Xiao Ji shook her head. "One thing after another…"
"Poor Xue Ting… But it's so strange to be robbed in daylight in such a small town. Yet kids? Do you think this is somebody's plan?" Macy speculated as Xiao Ji pondered.
"You're right… Bet the police will get down to it very soon." Xiao Ji concluded as they both went back to their work.
When Xue Ting parked her car at the hospital, only then did she see a warning message from Mrs. Tang.
Did you get my warning? If you don't leave Qiu Wen soon, I'm not sure who will be next.
Xue Ting gasped at the message as she forced herself to stay composed. She cannot afford to let Qiu Wen know about it else it will definitely strain the mother and son's relationship even more. Instead, she planned to shift to the new place even earlier.
She rushed to the lobby of the hospital to find Joy had fallen asleep on Matthew whose right hand was in a cast. Qiu Wen was on the phone busy with office matters. Jia Yi noticed her as he nodded in acknowledgment while assisting Qiu Wen. Her heart sank as she approached them. She signaled for Jia Yi to rush back to the office with Qiu Wen as Jia Yi smiled and nodded.
Qiu Wen was urged to leave by Jia Yi as he saw Xue Ting and walked towards her to pull her in for a hug as he briefly got off the phone. "They are alright now." He said. "Go, head back to work. I will take over." She instructed as he smiled and stole a kiss before hastily walking off with Jia Yi.
"You're alright?" She asked Matthew who was trying to reach out to Xue Ting who was squatting in front of him. "Let's head home first. Let Daddy head back to work first." She said as Matthew nodded while Joy was still asleep on his left shoulder.
"Brisbane!" He suddenly recalled which startled Joy awake and had Xue Ting rushed them both to the car before heading to fetch the little girl.
That night when she returned home from closing the restaurant on a later shift, she was frustrated with not having an idea of ways to convey the house-moving news to Qiu Wen. She went to check on the twins who were asleep with little Brisbane. As she came back downstairs for a glass of water, she found Qiu Wen who had just returned home equally frustrated.
He received news that it was highly suspected his mother instructed the robbery and he could not bring himself to tell Xue Ting about it. Yet, he had received an invitation from the Wei family to the Tang family to gather on Haiyak Island where the Wei owned a piece of huge land with a mansion there. Grandma had warned him to oblige and yield due to their business arrangements but he really did not want to leave Xue Ting at such times.
Xue Ting went over to hug him. "Do you want to go out for a walk?" She asked as he smiled and nodded.
It slipped his mind that they had not been dating late at night on a stroll and that being able to do it again with her kept all his worries away momentarily.
"What's on your mind?" She asked while holding his hand.
"A lot…" He said briefly as Xue Ting stole a kiss on his cheek.
"Thank you for the afternoon. My babies can be difficult to console especially Qiu Qiu." She said as he smiled sweetly at her surprise gesture.
"Ting Ting…" Qiu Wen paused while their gaze met which made him decide not to tell her about the police's findings.
"What is it? You know I could be an empty vessel… Is it your anxiety?" She pestered on curiously as he shook his head.
"I need to travel for an invitation to the Wei's family private land. I wanted to reject it but Grandma said to bear with it as I believe it's probably a deal they are negotiating on…" Qiu Wen explained.
"Go… That's fine. When is it?" She asked as she caressed his face gently.
"Tomorrow…" The reply sends Xue Ting a little taken aback as the idea of moving house resurfaces in mind.
This would be a good chance since everyone from Tang and Wei isn't around… She told herself as she quickly kept a straight face and smiled.
"We will be right here. Don't worry about Matthew. He will recover by then." Xue Ting comforted as Qiu Wen pulled her in for a hug.
"Thank you… I'm sorry I couldn't do better." He was truly grateful to have her being understanding. Xue Ting sighed as she smiled looking up at him.
"You're already doing your best. I know you would think it might cause us a misunderstanding but after all that we have been through in the past few months and after all that I have learned, I would never doubt you if you don't give up on me and the twins. I love you, Wen Wen, and will always be." She comforted him as they shared a kiss below the blossoming shades of trees.
I'm sorry Wen Wen. When you're back I will explain to you about the move and also about your mother's warning today… She thought to herself but the sudden unexpected tears sprung in her eyes made Qiu Wen chuckle.
"You said you will be fine. Why are you crying, Ting Ting?" He teased as he helped her wipe her tears away.
Yes, why are you crying Ting Ting? She questioned herself and she knew it was the fear she had of his mother. At this point, she no longer doubted the strength and depth of their love. She trusted him but the one and only reason they could fall apart was his mother and the truth about the twins which she was still afraid to let him know.
"Else I will reject. I won't go. After all, it matters more to all of them. You… are what matters to me." Qiu Wen gazed into her weary eyes as she hugged him and shook her head.
"No, don't bother about me. Just go…" Despite Xue Ting trying to fight her chaotic thoughts, she could not help but have a bad feeling about the trip as she sobbed quietly in his arms.
At that moment all she wanted to do was to hold on to him for as long as she could as who knew what would happen tomorrow and what would change thereafter.
Will I have another chance to be in your embrace again?
Holding your hand, or simply just talking like we do now again Wen Wen?
