Qiu Wen was awake first as he continued to stay in bed and held on to Xue Ting who was still soundly asleep. He felt like the luckiest man on earth to be able to still hold her after all that they had been through. As he eased in closer to her and examined her pretty face, a call from Jia Yi woke her which made him disappointed at the shortlifted beauty sight as he forced himself to pick up the call.
"This better be worth it for waking me up this early." He warned as Jia Yi checked the time to find it was nearly ten in the morning and found it strange as Qiu Wen was not a late waker. Jia Yi instantly knew it was Xue Ting who must have still been asleep.
"Apologies but the client has confirmed he needed the prototype of the design between the next few days. So…" Qiu Wen interrupted Jia Yi, knowing what to do next.
"Alright. I will make the arrangements…" Qiu Wen hung up as he kissed the pretty face beside him who was still half asleep.
"Thank you! I knew you were the right choice for the position. You didn't fail me." He praised as Xue Ting smiled and wanted to sit up to embrace him only to succumb to an excruciating pain as she lay back down in bed.
Qiu Wen noticed something was not right. "Ting Ting, what's wrong? Is it the gastric?"
Xue Ting waved her hand as she held on to her right thigh and Qiu Wen instantly knew what was going on.
"You… Bear with me. I will carry you to the tub to soak in warm water." He said dotingly as he did so and nestled with her in the tub thereafter.
"I'm sorry. We should have gone slower last night…" He apologised as Xue Ting rested on his chest at the soothing ease of the warm water, making the uncomfortable pain more bearable. She shook her head and smiled as she opened her eyes.
"It's something every woman had to go through…" She said nonchalantly.
"Having said so, you haven't been with anyone in the past years?" He asked as she shook her head and met his gaze lovingly.
"Have you?" She asked as he kissed her as an answer.
"No." He rested his forehead on hers. "You have left a huge impact that I think my body is living in a phobia. If the woman isn't you, there will be allergies and you're to blame. Are you going to be responsible for the damage?" He joked as Xue Ting chuckled in his arms.
"Then let's continue to be that way…" She teased as he gazed at her with a hint of his devilish look. She was captivated for a moment before she realised he was trying to devour her again.
"Wen Wen… Didn't you say to go slow? You need to meet with the craftsman. I can't help you if you carry on…" She protested as he continued to nibble on her neck and stopped after listening to her.
"Then I shall leave you hanging wanting for more without finishing…" He teased as she smacked him before he pulled her in for a hug.
"I love you. Thank you for all the toughness you had to endure. With that, I am very grateful to be able to still hold you in my arms." He said sincerely as Xue Ting hugged him tighter knowing she too felt the same and that he was the only man she had ever slept with though he did not try to clarify his doubts on it and made him suspect the identity of the twins to be of high chance his. He did not want to spoil the atmosphere and decided to keep the pending questions he had for another day.
When they finally reached the craftsman house, Qiu Wen alighted first to make a request to meet with the master only to be rejected. The master even took his walking cane and chased him out of the house.
That was when Xue Ting noticed it was Master Loong who was Joy's art teacher long ago before he retired. She recalled he was crafty and had taken a few lessons from him.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
"Master Loong." She stepped out of the car to address him which startled him to see her in front of his house. "Xue Ting, is that you?" Master Loong asked as Xue Ting tried to walk over slowly while enduring a little uncomfortable pain.
Qiu Wen quickly supported her by her shoulder.
"Yes, Master Loong. How are you? Have you been well?" Xue Ting asked as Master Loong was so happy to meet her again and held her hand.
"Yes, yes. I cannot believe I could see you here again. How are the children? They must be so much older now?" Master Loong chuckled as Xue Ting nodded.
"Yes, they are in their final year of school. Here, meet my husband, Ryan Tang Qiu Wen." Xue Ting introduced and could tell Master Loong was happy at first but shocked and began to get upset.
"Master Loong, nice to meet you." Qiu Wen greeted as he interjected before explaining himself.
"I do not encourage any customised crafts to be commercialise. It will eventually lose its' essence." Master Loong emphasise with conviction as Qiu Wen wanted to explain but Xue Ting held him back.
"Master Loong, this was designed by us for a specific client. If you allow, I will prepare the prototype with you. As for commercialising it, I promise you, I will do my best to ensure it will be all handmade by myself. That way, it would be impossible to commercialise the production." Xue Ting tried to persuade Master Loong who seemed to waver.
He took a good look at Qiu Wen before he interjected again and invited them in. The couple was very delighted that Xue Ting nearly tripped when she rushed in, forgetting the uncomfortable pain as Qiu Wen held her by her waist.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He apologised feeling very guilty as he accompanied her to walk into the house. She shook her head to indicate it was fine as she quickly took a seat next to Master Loong to hide her situation and started working together with Master Loong on the prototype the entire afternoon.
Qiu Wen was intermittently working on his laptop and answering calls from Jia Yi on approvals. He was glad to have a chance to watch his wife work so seriously on her passion as he wondered if the twins were not around, would she be a very successful art and craft businesswoman by now.
He grimaced at the sight of her shaking her right arm a couple of times throughout the afternoon. Only then he realised it was the arm which got injured from the fall and it had been tiring easily.
"Xue Ting, did you injure your arm recently?" Master Loong asked as she nodded guiltily.
He interjected before ranting loud enough for Qiu Wen to hear. "Why had not that man taken good care of you huh? How can he let his wife injure herself on her hands which are so important to her?"
"Master Loong, it's not like that. It was an accident…" Xue Ting tried to explain but Qiu Wen stepped forward and bowed at the Master.
"You're right Master Loong. It's my fault for not taking good care of my wife but rest assured I have already put a restraining order on the person who injured her."
Master Loong was surprised by that action and began to be impressed with Qiu Wen. "That was not even necessary." Xue Ting retaliated while keeping her hands busy with the last part of the prototype.
Master Loong chuckled. "Well done young man! After the entire afternoon with you, you finally did something right for once. Make sure you work with Xue Ting to ensure this is not comercialise or I will put a restraining order on you against her."
Qiu Wen knew how serious he was about the matter and how much he doted on Xue Ting. "Rest assured Master Loong. You have my word!" Qiu Wen quickly bowed again as Xue Ting shook her head in disbelief and presented the final prototype.
"Now both of you save your lawyer money and have a look at this…" Xue Ting said as they both admired the dragonfly hair-pin.
"You're indeed worth my time back then to train. It's a waste you didn't continue. Now that the twins are older, you should consider. Besides, this old man needs some help." Master Loong tried to persuade Xue Ting to pick up her art and craft skills again.
"Master Loong, I still have a long way to go. Besides, I still work at the restaurant and I am also my husband's personal design advisor…" She explained as Master Loong nodded and waved his hand. He could tell how much the couple loved each other and without a doubt he knew he was the twins' father. However, he was still upset with Qiu Wen's commercialising handcrafted crafts suggestion.
"If you ever change your mind, my door is open widely for you." He offered as Xue Ting nodded and smiled gratefully before they accompanied the Master for lunch and left.
As they flew back to Cravine, Qiu Wen could not help but asked her about her arm.
"Is this still not healing well?" He asked as he helped to massage her right arm. She caressed his cheek and shook her head.
"It will be fine. Don't worry, it takes time." She lied as she knew it could possibly be longer or never heal again. Qiu Wen felt guilty hearing that as he recalled Master Loong's words earlier that any fault of hers reflected how badly he was as her husband.
"Let's have a check-up on it when we get back." He urged while she leaned on him as she shook her head again.
"It's fine. We will go when we have time. For now, you should get this order done first and ensure what we promised to Master Loong on commercialisation is kept. I don't want to be restrained from you." She chuckled as he smiled and kissed her forehead in adoration.
