Just by looking at the message, Sam could tell that things would be better from now on. The monsters were from a single tier of power, and they were likely to be stronger than their predecessors. It seemed that there would be some sort of restart in terms of the floor layouts.
Before starting his true climb, Sam opened his sheet. His new title was already beginning to make a difference.

Emboldened by his immense stats, Sam cracked his knuckles. Finally, he had what he wanted. It was time to do what he did best. Excel.
A few minutes later, he crouched behind a waving patch of grass, whipped up by the storm. Rain pattered down around him, concealing his presence from the lion nearby. The monster was majestic, wrought from coruscating power. It was a transcendent being, not of the flesh, but of something higher.
Sam waited until it turned away, and then attacked. At this level of power, he could not count on teleportation being a guaranteed surprise anymore. As he expected, the monster turned instantly, seeming to transmit its form backwards through itself, turning its rear end into its head. However, it was a fraction of a second lost, and the monster paid the price for that. Sam’s hammer descended like an apocalyptic meteor, spelling the monster’s end. Only, it didn’t.
The creature’s head was flattened beneath the strike, but it simply shifted the rest of its body away from the ensuing detonation of Dao energy. With a roar that seemed to reverberate through the universe itself, the monster attacked.
Its body flickered, and the skies above darkened. The monster vanished, and then a bright point of light appeared in the sky above.
A head descended from the clouds, patterned after the lion. It was far larger, easily a hundred feet wide. Behind it, a twisting rope of light extended down, propelling it towards Sam. Of course, all of this happened in a fraction of a second.
Sam teleported on instinct, only narrowly missing the river of lightning that obliterated the ground where he had been standing. The smell of scorched bone wafted through the air as the lion reformed from thin air. His eyes saw nothing but a white expanse, but his other senses took up the slack.
The lion raced forwards, teleporting in short bursts. It was impressive for a beast, but ultimately, it was incapable of anything more, as it lacked the intelligence. Sam’s vision began to return, but far too slowly. As he tried to react using his other senses, he angled his hammer a little too low, and a claw streaked forwards, impacting his armor.
Sam jerked as he suddenly felt the power of a storm arcing through his body, searing flesh. He pushed through, and reached out, his hand wreathed in the power of his Dao. The lion yowled in sudden fear, but it was too late. Sam poured his power into the monster’s ephemeral form, banishing it from existence with his will.
Dao energy clashed with the lambent elemental power, crushing the lion’s relatively weak Dao with ease. Thunder sounded as the monster was wiped away, a small tremor racing through the air as Sam did so. Then essence poured into his body, far more than from the previous floors.
It still added up to a tiny percentage of what he required, but it was far better than his previous experience. It was greater than the essence from even the Alphas.
Sam continued along the titan’s bone, eyeing up the realm around him. The bones were organized in a seemingly haphazard pile, but as his eyes adjusted to the shadowy lighting provided by the flickering lightning, he realized that he was standing upon a fully formed skeleton. Only, it was so large that it appeared to be that of multitudes.
The Tower was a strange, but inspiring place, and Sam was starting to think that this was only the beginning of the wonders he would find.
More of the monsters roamed the skeleton, visible in the distance as spots of white light. Sam tracked them with his E Ranked senses, and started towards the nearest one. He would have to be a bit more careful about these monsters, but they were hardly a dire threat. He wanted to become more adept at his use of Dao to banish his enemies. Perhaps he would eventually be able to use it against normal opponents, and not just spirits and elementals. It seemed like it would be a useful technique.
