As his vision began to return, he groggily noticed that his armor was covered in red. He was bleeding, and heavily at that. Perhaps he shouldn't have been so cocky with his energy usage. Although his hammer could take it, he could not.
A storm of essence, almost all of which was for him, departed the Titan’s body as it died, streaking down to meet him. Multiple nodes cracked wide open as he subconsciously sent his essence surging into them. Pain wracked his body, but with his second threshold of Resilience passed, it was far less damaging than it would have been normally. Instead, it healed him more than it damaged him, and by the time he hit the ground, he was almost fully recovered.
Seven entire levels sent their strength through his body, filling him with pure power. He rose to his feet and grinned. Although the battle had been long and hard, at least for his level of strength, he had won, and almost completely by himself. Remembering his allies a moment later, he started the long process of teleporting back towards the mountain peaks.
By the time he reached his friends, they had begun their descent, heading towards a wide plateau, perfect for taking off with. As he went, he opened his status sheet.

His stats were all pushing a thousand, if not already there. With a large stock of free points, he was ready for anything that might come his way. Sam had expected needing to use them against the Lawful Titan, but surprisingly, he had been an almost complete counter to the monster’s fighting style. Closing his sheet, he opened up the Rise of the Titans quest, wanting to check for any changes.
Rise of the Titans
Difficulty: S
The unprecedented surge of power created by the formation of multiple Daos on your planet within the first month of the initialization has created a Dao resonance of epic proportions. Figures from throughout your mythological systems have been brought to life, first among them being Gaea, the mother of the Earth. These beings will not suffer the lives of ants to exist on what they consider their planet, and they will attempt to eradicate you. In a shocking turn of events, you managed to defeat the Corpse Titan, a feat of legendary proportions. For an F Rank faction to overcome an E Ranker is something that is considered to be almost impossible. Continuing upon your butchery of monsters that should be far beyond your means, you have slain the Solar Titan, an avatar of the Sun’s wrath made manifest. Your legendary feats grow still greater with your defeat of the Flood Titan and the Twilight Titan. Most recently, you hunted down and killed, almost completely by yourself, the Lawful Titan, one of the most difficult Titans to combat. Your strength is undeniable, but your enemies grow ever stronger.
Ultimate Goal: Kill Gaea and her eleven children.
Current Goal: Kill the other six subordinate Titans.
Rewards: Survival, ???
There was a new entry for every one of the Titans that he had killed, but the rest was the same. The reward was still survival, as well was the mysterious something that was marked only by question marks.
With his notifications finished with, Sam met his allies as they descended, pulling out the miniaturized ship.
“There you are,”Jeffrey said. “How does it feel, landing the final blow on five beings that most would consider to be akin to gods?”
“Eh, they’re just oversized monsters. Nothing to be worried about,” Sam replied nonchalantly, hiding a grin. He knew that pretending that his amazing accomplishments were commonplace annoyed Jeffrey to no end. The alien prince simply sighed, and stepped aboard the ship. Sam followed the others as they entered, and thus began their hunt. Every Titan slain would only bring more strength to the party, and soon they would be able to kill them with ease.
In the Grand Canyon
Some time later, a pillar of red light shot up to the heavens as the Overlord stepped out of a hole in reality, back to Earth for the first time in a month. His body crackled with barely contained power, and red lightning struck wherever he walked. With a level exceeding 100, and a Dao approaching the Seed stage, he was one of the strongest beings alive on the planet.
Few of his allies remained, as he hadn’t bothered to safeguard his base against beings like the Titans. Much of his city was in ruins, but a few people remained. Anonymous stumbled out from behind a ruin, her body battered from the hardship that she had gone through. A large scar bisected her face. The Overlord simply nodded his head at her, and then continued on his way.
“Wait!” Anonymous shouted. “Are you not here to save us?”
“Save you? Why, are you incapable of doing so yourself? I only accepted you into my faction because of your power. If you are this pathetic, then I have no need for you.”
The Overlord laid his weapon on his shoulder and marched off. There was a snap of lightning, and he was borne aloft on a disc of reddish light. With a single pulse of power, he accelerated to
supersonic speeds, streaking across the sky. He had some Titans to kill.
