The monster roared in rage, and a wave of elemental energy exploded outwards, faster than Sam could react. His body shuddered as the energy tried to fuse his cells to his bones, turning him into a statue. He used his Dao Seed to resist, but the moment of distraction was enough for the Titan to slap him away with a contemptuous flick of its wrist, sending him flying like a meteor into a nearby mountain.
A wave of ranged attacks surged towards the Titan from Jeffrey and Lao, but it ignored them in favor of following through with a strike from its hammer. Sam only managed to teleport away at the last moment, sending rivers of pain through his battered body.
“Worm! Your strength is severely lacking. Did you really think to challenge a god?”
“I’ve met gods,” Sam spat. “You are not one of them.”
He kept going, appearing on the monster’s shoulder. Striking dozens of times within a second, he sent cracks across the crystal. In grafting crystal to itself, the Titan had weakened its flesh. It should have been far harder to damage than this. However, it more than made up for this in size. It was just as hard to damage overall.
Chunks of crystal fell off, but the Titan only seemed to register this as an annoyance, rather than pain, seeing as the crystal was not actually a part of its body. Instead of reeling, it tucked its hammer in close and slammed it down onto the ground once more, this time with far more force.
A dome of blue light exploded outwards, washing harmlessly over the Titan. Sam suspected that his own body would not react as favorably to the attack. He teleported away desperately, managing to get away from ground zero for long enough to weather the brunt of the force. It was severely weakened by the time it reached him, but his body still seized as the elemental energy tried to warp his flesh and bones.
Sam shattered the attack with his Dao, cleansing his body of the infection. Nothing would stand between him and his revenge, or so his Dao told him.
Further away, his captains were in the process of building some incredibly unlikely combination attack, using Jeffrey’s gun as the focal point. Dao energy and elemental energy coursed into the weapon, causing it to burn with bright fire. It was a mix of color between the Daos and elements of the others, and it was quite striking. Sam only had to distract the Titan for long enough to allow them to attack.
He closed the distance in the blink of an eye, reveling in his monumentally deep Dao reserves. He could teleport hundreds, if not thousands of times now without ever running out of energy. By the time he reached the Titan, his hammer blazed with energy, a beacon of red and blue that seared through the sky.

The mile long hammer of the Lawful Titan came hurtling upwards, racing to meet his own strike. Sam had no illusions about his own strength, and he knew that if he took a head on strike from that weapon, he would simply die. Instead, he teleported to the side, landing on the hammer’s hilt. It was wider than a modest highway, and with his high Dexterity, there was an abundance of space on the weapon.
He brought his hammer down upon the crystal, carving a crater into the crystalline surface. Although the hammer was massive, its size and summoned nature made it quite brittle. A crack spread across its surface like a snake, threatening to tear it apart. Sam prepared to strike again, but the Titan whipped its hammer around, dislodging him.
Sam grunted, and flitted over to the monster’s head. However, a beam of bright blue light lanced out of the Titan’s eye, and when he tried to teleport, it felt like space had been locked down around him. When he moved, it felt like he was surrounded by a mantle of energy that prevented him from accessing the Dao that normally would have called to him. All the while, the beam kept approaching, nearer and nearer.
Sam raised Mjolnir, and met the attack with one of his own. The beam struggled against the hammer, but to his dismay, the weapon began to melt. He managed to weather the attack, but Mjolnir was in rough shape. Its head had turned into something akin to a metallic icecream cone, and another good hit would destroy it completely.
Sam sighed. Lao would understand what he had to do next.
Before he could move, the captains finally completed their attack. A beam of light exploded out of the mouth of Jeffrey’s gun, expanding to massive size in the blink of an eye. The Titan raised its hammer to block, but as the attack struck, the hilt finally shattered along the crack that Sam had made. The hammer came apart at the seams as the hilt broke, leaving Sam with enough time to teleport back to the captains.
As soon as Lao saw the state of Mjolnir, he instantly nodded without any prompting. He tossed the staff over to Sam with a slight grimace. As it was, the man could fight perfectly well without it. However, Sam would commission a new weapon for him with George. It was the least he deserved.
With a grunt, Sam brought the two weapons together. As they touched, there was a flash of light, and a glow surrounded the two weapons. The air began to hum with a noise like a heavenly choir, and the metal started to fuse together. There was an explosion of power, expanding outwards in a dome of light, and the weapons fully merged. A moment later, Sam was holding a two handed warhammer, with a long hilt and Mjolnir’s head. It was much more powerful than his previous weapon, and he could feel that it had both of their capabilities. He held it up, and imparted his will. The weapon expanded in an instant, suddenly twenty feet long. Lightning crackled along its length, and Sam smiled.
