The stat bonuses from the title were better than normal for a Legendary title, but they were limited to two of his stats rather than affecting all of them. Sam sighed, and closed the notification, wincing as the motion caused his chest to twinge painfully. He looked toward the rapidly diminishing Legion, and realized that his services were no longer needed.
Shaking his head, he started back for the city, hobbling as he went. The defenders cheered as they saw him coming back, and he waved up at them weakly as he headed for the gates. They swung open as he approached, and he entered, almost falling as he did so. He was greeted by a tide of defenders, those who were now out of the fight as a result of their injuries or the fact that there were no longer enough enemies left to merit their services.
Sam gave them all weak smiles, taking off his helmet, and he was greeted by even more cheers in reply. A few of the people patted him on the back as he went by, but most of the people were too apprehensive to come near him, even when he was at his weakest state yet. In his current state, he was far weaker than he normally was, and he knew that he wasn't that much higher in strength than the people around him. However, there was now an ingrained reverence for him in the townspeople, and he let it be. He made his way towards his house slowly, and about halfway there, he was met with a quest update.
Engines of the End Times
Difficulty:S
You have formed a faction and have begun to take over the surface of your planet, but there are three things that stand in your way. These are divided into the subquests below.
The Seven Seals
Seven weapons of great power, based on the mythologies and legends of your world, have been created around the world. They reside in locations that match their origins. Claim all seven of them to create the greatest weapon that your planet has ever seen. The possessor of this weapon will be able to exert dominance over all others.
Ultimate Goal:Find all the weapons below.
Mjolnir(1/1)
Excalibur(0/1)
The Spear of Longinus(0/1)
The Sickle of Cronos(0/1)
Sun Wukong’s Staff(1/1)
Gungnir(0/1)
The Thunderbolt of Zeus(0/1)
The Legion
In the time since the initialization started, there has been a curious absence of anyone who has been a soldier before the System arrived. This is because of the actions of one man. General Hugo Mar chanced upon the beginning of the path to the Dao of Legion. In doing so, he laid claim to every soldier to live on the planet through a unique form of Dao resonance, subsuming them into his hive mind. They now exist as the ultimate monster of your planet, a many headed monstrosity of fused will. This force lives only to spread itself, an anarchic terror of pure self propagation. This questline has been completed, to a great degree, with every last one of the Legion destroyed by you or your faction. Well done.

Ultimate Goal:Eradicate the Legion(Achieved)
Invaders from Beyond the Stars
Malefactors from other universes will seek to use your universe as a source of power. You must show them the error of that desire by forcing them off your planet. Some of the alien species will be benevolent, but most will be hostile. You have defeated one of the vanguard armies of the invasion effort, but that is only a drop in the ocean that is the full force. The stronger and larger armies are being stalled in transit so that it will be more of a fair fight, but they will be coming soon. Be warned, for the factions whom these armies belong to will set their eyes upon you. Whether that is a good thing or not is up to fate.
Ultimate Goal:Remove any threats from other universes.
Ultimate Goal:Complete all three quests.
Rewards:Planetary Dominance
Sam let out a deep sigh of satisfaction, and closed the quest. It was over. The Legion had finally been defeated. There were no rewards given, but he had gained enough from the death of Hugo Mar in any case. As well as the five levels and the title, he had taken over a hundred million credits from the kill, a nice boost to their faction resources.
The man likely had possessed far more than that, but had spent it on whatever those massive objects in the ocean had been. Sam had more pressing concerns now however, such as finding out where those ships had come from. He was granted an answer soon enough, as one of them touched down in front of him.
The vessel was unmarked, save for a tiny sigil painted over the nose of the craft, which was a many-leaved tree summited with a star. Sam almost drew his hammer as the ship landed, but he withheld from doing so. These people had come to help them, so he would give them the benefit of the doubt. He had not been expecting who stepped out of it next.
“Talnor?” Sam exclaimed in surprise, for it was indeed Talnor Manthrox, the man who he had met in the Interweb over a month ago.
“Sam Atlas, as I live and breathe! It seems that the initialization is doing well for you. You’re already shooting up the ranks. I know you might be wondering why we are already here, but we had some luck during our travels. We got involved in a few wars along the way to this universe, and we backed the right sides each time. These ships that you see here have all been upgraded quite a bit. A journey that should have taken months took barely one. The Dao that you helped our scion gain guided us here unerringly.”
“Well, you certainly had a good sense of timing,” Sam said. “How are you?”
“Eh, as well as any mid F Rank can be. Now that we have reached our target however, my spirits have certainly risen. Your city may be humble, but it is quite well defended. Almost like a tiny version of the Isolationists.”
“I appreciate the compliment. I’m a bit rusty on my Multiversal factions, but isn't that the one that kept within a single universe, but possessed such strength that nobody dared to attack them?”
“Ah, so you do have some experience after all. Yes, that is that I was alluding to. Their governing structure is quite similar to yours as well. The leader of their faction is the strongest person there, and the rest of it is organized by strength too. However, they are a far more brutal faction than yours in any case, and you seem to be following a much more refined path, at least for now.”
“Well, I don’t think anyone in the Multiverse is entirely free of guilt or wrongdoing, especially those that have reached the pinnacle of power. Now, Talnor, if you intend to join my faction, then you should talk to my captains. They do a lot of the logistics here. I am merely a figurehead in the grand scheme of things, a warhead to be armed in case of assault. I need to get some rest after that last fight. It almost killed me,” Sam replied.
Talnor nodded in reply, and walked off towards the wall, where the captains were still waiting. Sam was starting to sway on his feet by now, and he knew that he needed sleep, as urgently as he had ever felt the calling of his bed since the coming of the System. Rare was the event that taxed the body and mind of an F Ranker such, but apparently Sam had triggered one in his battle with Hugo Mar. As he entered the safety of his house, he heard the sound of a many legged animal tromping through the door, and he turned around to see Rax. The monster was still oversized, but he barely fit within the house. Sam smiled, and kept walking up the stairs. Rax followed him, panting excitedly, and as Sam clambered into the bed, he snuggled up next to him. Sam barely noticed the herpetopede, and succumbed to his slumber.
