He flashed across the battlefield like a streak of lightning, his teleportation skill allowing him to move like the wind. It was almost unfairly powerful, but he had bled for it. Besides, it was only really useful against those on his level. It would be valuable against the Titans, but it would be hard pressed to let him avoid the swipe of a mile long arm. He would be crushed long before he got out of the way. Everything had limits in this world. It was simply the way of existence. However, Sam could still make the most of his abilities.
As he butchered the monsters, slowly pushing them back towards the canyon, he suddenly felt a malefic presence pressing down on him. He looked up, and stared directly into the eyes of the Corpse Titan. An ethereal green in color, the orbs were a hundred feet in width, and seemed to possess hidden depths of power, far beyond what Sam had. A low rumble came out of the monster’s mouth, almost as if it was laughing at him. One massive arm slowly rose, and a dark tear in the air opened above it. A roar echoed over the land, and a massive skeletal dragon flew out. It was dwarfed by the Corpse Titan, but it was still hundreds of feet long. As it swooped forwards, it grew larger and larger in Sam’s vision. He quickly fired off an analysis of the monster.
Skeletal Wyrm
Level 134
It was over level one hundred, and stronger than Hugo Mar had been, at least in terms of level. However, Sam had gained significant power since then. It was time to show his real strength. Teleporting through the air, he weaved his way through the sky towards the beast. It met his challenge with another roar, and it sped up, each flap of its tattered wings propelling it forwards with a speed only made possible by the System.
Sam’s hammer started to glow brighter and brighter as he filled it with power, drawing upon his stock of pure mana. He wanted to get the measure of this beast before he pulled out all the stops. A wave of malefic blackness roiled out from its mouth, filling the air with a toxic field of Death elemental energy. Sam teleported through it, shielding himself with his own elemental mastery and Dao energy. With a roar, he brought his hammer down like a thunderbolt, straight onto the monster’s head.
There was a crack like a gunshot, and a wave of blue light cascaded into the creature’s skull. The monster was driven down by the blow, its flight path interrupted by Sam’s attack. A large chunk of its head fell off, revealing nothing but empty air inside. However, it was far from dead. With a keening cry of rage, it recovered, swooping back up towards Sam. It opened its mouth wide, sucking the elemental energy back in. With a cry, it loosed it once more, this time in the form of a beam. Moving too fast for Sam to dodge, it smashed into his chest. Before the damage got too high, he teleported away, but not before necrosis started to set in.

The concentrated elemental energy had started to rot Sam’s flesh and blood with its power, and he had only escaped in time to make the damage low enough so as to not be life threatening. With a howl of pain and anger, Sam started to gather coruscating energies in his left hand. A spear of pure power formed there, and he shot it off at the wyrm's open mouth. It tried to close it, but it was too late.
Sky Splitting Wrath went off like a bomb, blasting its jaws apart and scouring its bones with cleansing light. To the observers below, it looked like a new star had been born within the wyrm’s mouth. However, the creature had many levels on Sam, and was not that easy of an opponent to put down. Teeth flew everywhere, accelerated to the speed of bullets with the amount of power that Sam had used.
This monster was near the top of F Rank, and every one of its body parts was a powerful weapon. The fact that he was even able to stand against it at all was incredible. It showed just how much he had gained from his training. However, the creature was a lot physically weaker than it could have been, given that it seemed to focus more on elemental magic.
As it recovered from the blast, it locked eyes on Sam, who was teleporting around a few feet at a time, levitating in the air. If he kept up with the pace of gravity, he was able to suspend himself in the air with minute teleportations. It was as close to flight as he had gotten yet.
The wyrm roared in fury, the effects somewhat diminished by the fact that its mouth was in ruins. Dark energy spiraled around its body, rising up from its bones. It focused into a gem like aggregation of power in front of its mouth before bursting into a concentrated beam of energy. As the battle raged on below, with Jeffrey’s attacks visible even from here, the greater battle in the skies began to heat up.
Sam teleported away, but the beam homed in on his position. With a grunt, he swung his hammer, imbuing it with pure mana. As his weapon raced to meet the strike of his enemy, he found himself roaring in primal rage and exultation. This was what he had been waiting for. A crack shuddered through the air as the two strikes met, sending lightning bolts of power racing in every direction. Dark light fought against the bright blue power of Sam’s mana, and the two energies eventually faltered. However, Sam was already gone. Before the wyrm could react, he was above its head, bringing his hammer down with a crack of lightning. A comet-like trail of reddish light and yellow energy streaked behind it, heralding the descent of Justice is Best Served Cold. Ten times within the span of a second his hammer rose and fell, conveying its conceptual energy into the body of the monster. At the last strike, the roiling energy detonated, blasting chunks off of the wyrm.
