393 Bake Note (Meroa)

Putting the crystal down Meroa took a deep breath before closing her eyes, concentrating on the task at hand, Hatula will understand, or not.

"Surge of ancient knowlege 'dark wish'", the spike of pain from an empowered ultimate was beyond any of her previous casts, writhing in agony on the floor and screaming in pain with formulas for the spell flooding her mind, numbers, equations, branching possibilities, forcing her to create, populate, edit, revise and delete whole worlds, learning not just how the wish spell was  cast from the Player interface but how it literaly changed the game itself, just before an epiphany struck her everything stopped moving.

Back in her dragon avatar interface Meroa slumped to the floor breathing, trying to touch the knowlege she now had in her mind and found it was all there, frustrated from the denial of something she couldn't name, it was so easy now to understand how Allen did his changes, she didn't need what he called a code interface, the roots of the world were just there for her, the spell itself was simple, once a day she could sacrifice a NPC to create something with a small statistical chart for success based on the sacrifice made and desired change, sacrificing Players had a slightly different chart.

Grating her teeth and looking at the list Allen gave her of spells not cast for a hundred years she chanted the surge spell again when another stab blasted inside her head, dropping to the floor so fast her chin thumped on the tiles, the spells breaking to their program components without the spell being finished, paralysed with fascination and the raging eruption of knowlege, clenching her hands, the spells all falling itno an orderly vista of creation and destruction, a library of numbers, letters and signs forming streams of colors.

Eyes opening to the cold light of electric lamps, thinking she got disconnected before noticing the purple luminescent reflections that were her avatars' shadow, stretching like a cat, Meroa sat back on her tail and smiled, knowing the system was different than understanding it, she couldn't do what Allen did, but he was limited by the system in ways that were now clear to her elightened vision.

Walking to the door and finding it fused shut with Allen's indestructible crazy colors she looked at the walls around her in confusion, "earth form" let her slither through the wall to its other side where the castle was in ruins, insane color schemes drifting on disintegrated clouds of dust and ash from everlasting pyres, piles of rubble where towers and keeps used to stand, colors seemed shifting with the winds until she realised they were stationary and the wind was revealing different layers, checking the system clock told her she was at a reasonable related time to when she cast the spell but everything around her told a different story.

Staring at the hypnotizing destruction she finally decided to check the system messages from the last few minutes, a wall made from thousands upon thousands of failed notice, attention, warning and critical messages met her stumped eyes, the last few criticals said the system was assembling a backup server with the most probable desired outcome from her actions and giving her a pass key to return to the main active server when she finished enjoying her game experience.

Meroa knew the system created backup servers for Players shifting their time frame beyond conventional limits, but never one where the whole world was already ruined, spreading her wings to fly above the ash and soot she could see the whole mountain was completely blown apart like a great volcanic eruption, going higher she suddenly fealt pressure, dodging left on instinct something huge blew past her, purple and screaming.

Dropping a hundred meters and skimming the clouds of dirt covering the whole continent, looking up she saw herself, or a gargantuan three eyed, one handed version of her dragon avatar, the monster turned back with a skreech and opened its mouth, knowing what was coming next Meroa was dodging before the torrent of nonsensical items spewed forth.

Dagger, swords, toy trains, wooden horses, chairs, a broom, all flying at her and if she didnt dodge she would have been caught in the avalanche of trash, the other dragon did something, the items suddenly springing to life and giving chase had caught her by surprise, snatching a wooden horse from ther air, it bit her.

Letting go and dodging the little NPCs Meroa caught a living chair, smashing it with her hand and casting a Dark Wish that turned them all to ash, fueled by the cascading devastation the spell ravaged through the living trash until nothing was left but the other dragon no looking at her with seething anger.

The other dragon was larger than even Shoul, so much larger that Meroa didn't understand the speed and distance between them before she tried to get closer, the monster was a mountain of crystalline flesh, hovering in place before the tiny Meroa, how was this something she created?

Flapping its wings the beast moved toward her like an avalanche of doom, Meroa couldnt move with the dread filling her as the seconds trickled, from the ash rose something, shielding her from the sight and pulling her down.

"Good morning beauty" hearing the message in Allen's voice pissed her off enough to shake the fear out of her system.

"How are you on my backup server?", she asked as the force carrying her dropped through the ground without stopping and into a some sort of underground basement.

"This is not a backup server", came the strange answer, "but I can see how the system would use a backup server to enable a temporal concious shift", his usual ramblings soothing and annoying at the same time.

"You are insufferable", hissing in a message spell was stupid, "where are you?"

"Almost there", he said as the force carrying her stopped at a large cavern that was obviously part of the underways, "just walk straight and I'll meet you at the square".

"What happened?", it was too strange to think about temporal concious shifts, "why is there a giant version of my avatar outside?"

"You fought Red in his new car and vanished in a blast of lightning right through the mountain", seeing Allen and blinking almost in pain, "then the mountain exploded and you disintegrated everything in your giant avatar", three legs and a wing missing, his tail ripped and broken, "we tried to fight you off but there was nothing we could do against the most ancient starburst dragon avatar anyone ever heard of including the admins", sitting on a pedastel she tried to calculate his age from his current size.

"I cried when your family plugged you off after you ravaged the free guild alliance only to find your blockers were overwhelmed", bigger than Shoul made him a little over a hundred years old considering how starburst dragons started bigger than emeralds, "the avatar kept fighting us", the story continued as she walked toward him drawing stares from everyone else, "the emperor ripped its leg off before dying", standing in front of him she kept listening, "Shoul took it's eye when she swallowed him whole", reaching to touch her as she flinched away, "torturing me distracted her long enough for the admins to send everyone else to the new space servers", his touch both familiar and strange, "only a few stayed on the old world to keep her from chasing them".

Closing her eyes Meroa used her code to return to the main server, "what the fuck was that?" she cursed before hearing the sirens from outside and relieved to find nothing really changed, some weird spell induced dream from the 'surge of ancient knowlege' spell?
