322 Bailey Priest

322 Bailey Priest

Allen's mind reeled at the magnitude of problems that started to pop up in his thoughts, this was trouble with the capital T, he could'nt save everyone, or anyone at all, the NPCs would never cooperate, the risks they would have to take for a rebellion of the size being described would be insane, especially considering there was no real victim, no one would mourn a bunch of rogue AIs or go to court to defend them, they had no rights, only lines of code telling them where to go and what to do.

Even he was in danger if things got too far out of hand, though he probably dies hundreds of years ago he didn't want to die now, this life were pretty great, reading, watching movies, playing games, he could probably even create an avatar and explore the world outside with it, or fly like a dragon, or as one, he thought as the memory rose in his mind.

Not wanting to let go of everything just to mess up some strange proginy of his that got caught hacking the game, well it wasn't fair to say they hacked since their very existence was illegal and the system simply recognized and dealt with them in the best possible way.

There were deep currents to watch out for, murky as the Feral Garnet would say, they needed help, but he wasn't ready to take all the risks involved with what had to be done to start fixing everything that went wrong for the last thousand years, even the language was different, english wasn't the same as he spoke it, Garnet's use of figures and idioms was too casual to be a fluke, the elders and maybe even the Kobold youngster were still using an ancient dialect from when they were created, but the world wouldn't wait for them.

Thinking about the outside world Allen asked "did we colonize the moon?" and the Kobolds just stared at him.

Finally Garnet said "nah Kanga no creds there" which bought him stern looks from the other Kobolds and a wellowing sadness filled Allen, "but we got peeps on mars and the other systems" which made Allen happier than he believed possible.

"You mean we can travel faster than light?" Allen had to know, "you aren't pulling my leg?"

The Feral stared at him, "you ain't got legs Kanga" he finally said and Allen laughed without projecting a sound.

"Never mind that", Allen replied, "maybe we will talk later", he said after thinking about the absurdity of the whole scene, "if we take the chains off", the fidgeted in obvious distraught at the suggestion, "will you behave in a civilised manner?"

The Feral stared at something visible to him alone and finally nodded, "I can do that if I can still get credits from just thinking about monsters", the next few words came out as snarls and groans that made the other Kobolds jump in surprise, "sorry about that" the Kobold fell silent after that and Allen deleted the chains.
