326 Clause Tissue

326 Clause Tissue

Seeing the tearless but still emotional homecoming of the wayward scion to his family and friends stirred something in Allen.

Remembering his own daughters coming to visits in the neuro psyhce correctional facility he wadered what happened to them, dead so long ago nobody beside him would even remember their names but they probably had children of their own and from some of the things he heard today it was possible they kept in touch with what these people called legacy, they wouldn't know anything about him or care, but they were still his family and he cared.

Sinking to his own world of words and numbers so he wouldn't disturb the others Allen missed the first words aimed at him from the newcomer, Emerald, bowing low and humming prayers Allen had to rewind his recording to hear him say "thank you".

The whole group except for Gem and Garnet were prostrating on the floor, the sword still hung in the air though they took a few cautionary steps away from it.

"Can someone hold the sword while I free it?" He asked and Emerald jumped to grip it, "ok" Allen said removing the immobile trait "now", the sword jerked down before Emerald stored it and bowed in gratitude.

"We need to make plans" Allen finally said and the Kobolds stood with the eerie attention he noticed the guards were in at his stroll through the city and JewelSetter's house, "why dont you use the idle routines?" He asked absently.

"We learn not to follow the Feral path at a young age", Staffson replied in a lecturing tone, "idle routines lead to unconcious magic", he continued and the others nodded as if knowing the words by heart, "and magic by the nameless brings the Feral plague upon their home", it ended in a grim note and Allen knew this was a recited doctrine.

"Ok", he dismissed the implications from his current train of thought, "how can we spread the 'cure' without tipping our hand to the other Players and Admins?"

Garnet held his head crying "stop talking to me" before he fell silent and Jovial spoke from his mouth "are you hacking all the NPC prisoners?" His voice trembled in fear at the implication, "Kanga you promised not to drown me but this is murky stuff", he looked at the horrified Kobolds surrounding him though for different reasons than what he said, "you shade me in that and I'm never out of prison", looking intently at the ceystal, "probably get me some correctional punishment to boot".

Stolen story; please report.

"These are the complications I was refrring to", he paused, "I don't know how to do it", thinking back, "the ambassadors wouldn't solve this", he added, "maybe a mark for when the Player is online so we know what we can tell them", he paused, "but the language would still be a problem", after a longer pause, "and some Players will abuse their freedom to cause a lot of trouble".

Looking at the profiles in his compiler, "please enable independent action Jovial" and Allen noted the parameter defining that condition when it changed, with some creative coding he added an object, "ok disable it", Garnet's eyes were glowing a sinister red shade that made the other Kobolds draw back from him.

"I think this should do it", Allen finally said, "no glow the Player is Offline", he explained, "white glow is online but with the Kobold in control", and finally "red glow is the player controlling him", quickly addin "it or her".

"Shank me a double Kanga" Jovial said, "that is some crafty Hacking" and fell silent before his eyes glowed a soft white light.

"We can't revive the cults", Emerald announced, "I will take no part in a secret council of elders ruling from the shadows with fear and torments", he then added, "we need to free every last one of them", and finished "the truth is our light" like a mantra spoken an incountable amount of times.

"But we can't be caught by the Players", ArmBasher answerd, "or we will be deleted" and added "or worse".

"What can be wirse than the Feral plague that has torn our lives for hundreds of years?" Emerald asked unmoving.

"Another plague" ArmBasher shivered, "one not so simple to cure"

The others stared at her, "simple?" Emerald cried in obvious pain, "we couldn't find a 'cure' for hundreds of years" he was obviously frustrated at the words spoken, "how is that simple?"

ArmBasher looked at the distraught Kobold, "we know its source now", she finally said, "we can prevent others from being afflicted and we can cure those already believed lost", shifting her eyes to the crystal, "that makes it simple from my point of view"

Emerald snarled at the words but remained silent and ArmBasher continued, "now you see our problem", she sighed, "how to deliver a cure without telling the Players being administered", adding "and how to make them release our people without using force"

"Most Kobolds won't believe we have a cure unless we show them" BoneSmith joined, "and we can't give everyone the beastial language or we will have bloodshed on the streets" she added with a sigh.

"We need to think this through" JewelSetter finally said.
