Taylor couldn't let go of the riddle that the Peasant presented her with, no one chose this class, it was utterly useless with a skill set that made watching paint dry sound exciting, it's one redeeming factor was letting you choose a special type of weapon proficiency through Legacy Weapon, you could basically used any weapon with the legacy prefix, like Grandpa's sword, but these weapons were mostly trash, min max tools that were unpredictable at the best of times and downright useless more often than not.
And yet this Allen guy played her like a harp, joining her group based on level alone, she should have checked their classes but who would ever level up a useless class like that?
Something caught her eye, she checked again to make sure and then started reading in earnest, it was too odd, the benefit from something like that was so broken in the game that she had to call Brenda, "I found something off in one of the classes", she started, "look at the level cap on the Peasant class".
"What am I looking for?", Brenda sounded skeptical, "It's been 10 since I started playing".
"Now look at the resurgence costs", referring to the drop in skills, attributes and other statistics that made up a character in the system she could almost hear her friend's mind ticking away.
"OH MY GOD", Brenda shouted, there is no resurgence cost, if anything you get a new legacy weapon every time you go through it, "What's the catch here Taylor?" she exclaimed "Why did nobody find this until now?"
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
"Apparently someone did find it", Taylor told Brenda about her quest with Allen, "I thought it was a lucky one in a million critical hit when he killed that dire wolf", he frustration could be easily heard "but he could have killed every last one of them alone if my suspicions are right".
"But it would take years", Brenda tried to mitigate the benefits "years and years of grinding to be ever stuck on level 10"
"And you can never use any weapon of power", Taylor added and then thought about it "except a legacy sword that is unbreakable because its too low level and has no repair costs", she thought some more "you can only do as much damage as your skill and attributes modifiers", she breathed in sharply "infinite skill and attribute modifiers" she breathed heavily out.

Allen logged off exactly four hours after starting the recreational game, even though more prompts were popping up and some timers had only a few more minutes to complete it was like he didn't see them at all.
Sleeping, waking up, eating all played on schedule with a group of NPCs following him with growing anxiety, the doctor prescribed restive activities while in work sessions and more therapy exercises to speed up healing of his apparently cramped leg and arm detecting no problem beside overworked muscles.
He logged in as 210m and found himself floating under water, the system tagged a location to his left and he started swimming towards the prompt, the cold water bothered him only for a few seconds, the breath timer was disabled as well as other prompt timers, which he would have thought strange if he thought about them at all.
An underwater current carried him faster and faster towards the location indicated on his map and he swam past a pack of killer whales that followed him for no apparent reason.
A ship was sunk in a dark abyss, her captain a memory and light a fleeting thought, no waves lapped her keel for she was lost in cold forgotten depths.
