"If I just give the Ferals the Draconian language it could get them in a lot of trouble for hacking", Allen started to describe the obstacles in greater details, "we can't afford that kind of attention", he added seeing how they didn't understand his words, "if the Admins find large scale hacks they will just delete everything that came in contact with it", fear painted on their faces when the words finally hit a familiar chord.
"We need to find some way around it", Allen paused before adding, "we also want them to enable independent control when they log off so you could reunite with your lost friends and family", another pause, "I can't think of any way to do that without their consent and knowlege", sighing inwardly, "but we can't tell them the truth either".
"Kanga you tell me I could get free if I enable independent control and I jam that stuff so hard it stays good even when I log in", Jovial jumped to his feet "hell tell me I can just do monitor on a sweet ass monster stroller without all the crap with torture and maiming I am bought", he chuckled then "I am bot", bursting in laughter at his own pun, his words making Allen think about the options.
"What about the language?" Allen asked no one in particular.
"Why not give the other Players this Beast lingo?" Jovial answerd and Allen thought maybe not having visual features wasn't the best way to take part in a conference, though the reverence of the other Kobolds made it just a dialog, he could probably use their input.
"It could work" Allen finally answerd, "but how will they react to the 'trussing' you have to do to get credits?" Jovial seemed deflated at the thought of losing his easy credits.
JewelSetter finally broke the silence from the other group, "why not use ambassadors", she suggested, "people understanding the problem that can take some bad words for the greater good", looking triumphantly at Jovial.
"Yes" Allen finally said "but how can we explain it without revealing too much?"
At that BoneSmith raised her head, "we keep the truth to ourselves", she said, "tell them we stumbled on the language thing from Gem's spells", then she paused, "but there are complications that force the Ferals to behave violently", she concluded, "you say they will be back to how they were before the plague hit them", then a long pause, "will they remember what was done to them?" her voice almost a whisper.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"I think they will remember everything" Allen said, "what they did and what was done to them", the thought staggered him and he choked.
After a long pause Allen finally had a plan, "you should surround Garnet and be ready for an attack" he said to the Kobolds, "when everyone is ready Jovial will enable Independent Action and we will hopefully see a miracle" he concluded the plan.
The Kobolds stood around the Feral when JewelSetter called out "wait" she looked at Gem, "go bring your mother and grandfather here", she looked around and recieved understanding nods, "tell them its about Garnet but say nothing else and keep it quiet".
Gem thought about the orders and nodded before bolting out of the shrine, "should I watch over her?", Allen asked and the Kobolds shook their heads.
It was almost an hour later that Gem returned with two other adult Kobolds, a time Allen spent chatting with Jovial about the facility where he worked out his sentence for playing GTA naked on a public domain, Jovial still had fifteen months out of his thirty months sentence, judges were even more trigger happy to enslave people in the program than in Allen's time, with the new colonies out in space and trade booming for the rich and powerful, young people found themselves either taking risks in insane frontiers farther from home than ever before or bored stiff with most jobs being maintenance or research of online communities and phenomenae.
Countries now resolved political conflicts in online enviroment, anyone trying to use real world weapons would find themselves indentured for eternity in a NPC facility with no way of getting free, whole generations of people lived and died in cubicles and getting anger management courses in the form of torture and death on a daily basis.
When Gem returned Allen was already depressed from the grim state of the world he was born in, though it seemed Jovial took it all in stride, he got thirty months of light work which resolved in him being sent to shout profanities at Players who didn't speak his language.
Knowing some parts of the truth now Jovial found the whole premise very strange but he never bothered to think about it before.
When the new Kobolds saw Garnet surrounded by the guards with weapons drawn they cried out in anguish, "NO" the older male shouted as he charged at the group, "crystal sacrifices are against the law", he held on to the surprised Jovial and shielded him with his body.
"You are wrong Emerald" BoneSmith said quickly before things devolved further.
"I was there at the announcement BoneSmith" he spat and looked angrily at JewelSetter, "you lead the rebellion mother", his voice broke "how can you do this now?" He trembled "and why make me watch when you butcher my own son?" He fell silent but pushed Garnet back further to protect him.
