Allen needed time to think things through, there were deep currents underground here and he was messing things just by being concious of them, the city seemed peaceful and prosperous on first look and even if it was just a facade most people preferred a facade of peace so they could live their lives, the time skipping made it almost impossible that he would ever meet anyone he knew beside the Kobolds and none of them he considered friends or even anything other than complex artificial intelligences.
Looking at the creatures in the room he could almost see the break lines in their society, with the Feral plague the fire boiling the pot, if he solved that problem it could shatter their whole society, he needed to understand what brought the plague beside using magic or skills, and how to spread a cure without causing the whole brew to boil over and burn the city down.
One aspect of the plague was almost too obvious, but he had to make sure, "can you bring a Feral over here?", he asked "or show me where you are holding them?" the elders' heads snapped to stare at him and Allen knew he was right about them holding the Feral Kobolds in some sort of prison or tomb.

Two of the guards stared slack jawed at the Elders' response, Staffson broke the silence with "Why?", at the same time of BoneSmiths' "no", the two elders looked at each other and back to the crystal, "why do you want a Feral?" BoneSmith finally broke the tension.
"Three reasons I can state with ease", Allen started a lecture "I need to make sure that they were actually taken over by a NPC", he fell to an explaining tone "Two is I might be able to return those who were turned to their original state of mind", he thought hard if he wanted to share the last reason "and last", he decided to share his personal reason "I want to contact their world", he sighed to himself hoping these reasons were enough to acquire their help.
Allen watched the Kobolds with anticipation, not sure if he should say anything else, seeing the black youngster slip away and fading into the dark hallways outside the shrine he didn't bother to follow, this was much more important to him and he didn't want to lose his contact with the higher echelons of the society living around his shrine.
