243 Wring Hamburg

Lilia knew they had no chance, a bunch of low level Human survivors of a raid facing off an army of well trained Player monsters it was a no brainer about who would win, but she could help her friends and allies the best surrender conditions from their enemies.

Even a miniature dragon was a very powerful creature, seeing the farmer holding it off made Lilia reconsider her previous assumptions about the man and the beast, the sparks from the monster's breath were like a million tiny curses that made a mess of everyone's skills, stats and abilities, seeing the Peasant being hit directly in the face with it and still pushing back his assailant was mind numbing.

Casting another Aid orb to negate some of the hexes helped her friends catch their breath and renew the line against the marauding Kobolds, although their weapons seemed crude Lilia knew they were potent implements of death and the Players with her needed to regroup and get some advantage if they didn't want to get wiped out.

This was why she played the game, not all the stupid role playing nonesense but the heroic last stand of a few against many making use of obscure skills and tactical superiority to subdue an impossible foe but if she was going to work out a plan she needed to know what her goals were, it didn't look like there was anything actually worth fighting for, most Humans were already giving up when she crashed into them and the few still fighting didn't have much going in their favor except for the mad Peasant that seemed to stop most of the enemy advance on his own.

The dragon took off towards the ceiling and Lilia literaly pushed Croney into action and pointed at it, the gust of wind almost impaled the beast to a stalagtite and it just breathed at them and attacked the titanic Peasant again, when the tail whipped the peasant's face she thought it was something she already saw, with the handwrapping she knew it, though there was no cliff anywhere around and they were certainly not at ghormley keep this was a step by step replication of that attack and magic would let you make your own cliffs.

Knowing what was coming next she grabbed Lockerley's arm, "get ready to trap the dragon in a crystal", he looked at her with astonishment but knew better than to argue when she was in her tactics mode, he started the ceremony while their allies pushed the Kobolds back for a final futile assault, seeing the dragon dash aside she knew what came next and shouted "now" as soon at its body slammed the Peasant through the glowing apparition left behind.

Green light flashed to red and then finally blue, the peasant had turned into a ghost and the dragon was nowhere to be seen, but a green crystal with blue veins and a miniature dragon etched inside was floating inside the ritual circle, "I invoke the right to Parley" she shouted, "we will negotiate with BoneShaper and ToothPicker or I will smash your god", she raised her staff threateningly above the crystal.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Seeing the Kobolds hesitate gave her time to catch a breath, as the two she indicated came forth she fealt like they could win this, not sure yet what her goals were she mostly wanted to get out, away from the UnderWays, away from this crazy farmhouse and everything in it, then the Kobolds brought forward the mangled shape of Devo and she gagged, choking sounds emanated all around her and she couldn't hold it any longer when the thing's eyes moved, he was still alive, skinless and being only a torso with a head held upright by a bunch of spears she couldn't believe he didn't just log off and respawn.

Kobolds healed some of their wounded before ToothPicker stood apart from their flock "what do you want human?", she spat in Italian, "you got me in so much trouble I really want to hate you" the creature's tail smacked the ground.

"We will give you the temporal Crystal if you let us get out of here", Lilia's voice sounded much more confident than she fealt inside, fatigue started to rise from her aching feet and depleted mana and stamina reserves, this needed to be finished quickly, "you can release him in any temple".

ToothPicker looked at her but it was BoneSmith that spoke, "why don't we just take it after we kill you all?" he asked and took a step forward.

Lilia raised her staff "because I will smash him before you can stop me", making an up and down motion with her hand, "so it's your fault if he dies", she looked straight into the serpentine eye of the creature and didn't back down.

BoneSmith walked back to a group of fancy looking clothed Kobolds and when he returned he nodded towards her, "we will escort you out if you deposite the Crystal in an offline safe", he threw her a memory crystal, "its set up so any item inside requires all owners to log in at the same time and activate the key", he handed her a credit card, "also the item can't be touched before five days pass" he finished talking and looked from her to the crystal and back.

Reading through most of the document she agreed it was the best way for them to trust her, touching the card to the green and blue crystal made it vanish in a cloud of sparks, only then did Lilia realize her threat was gone without it actually being in the room and she fealt like she just wanted to cry in frustration at the trick.

The Kobold saw her discomfort "not as smart as you would like to believe you are", it made a stopping motion with a hand, "but you dealt with honor and I respect that", looking at ToothPicker, "even if you betrayed your friend".

A new Kobold stepped forward, wearing robes that covered its entire body, "you made a deal with the Kobold Conclave", its voice resonated through the cave, "and we will honor it", Lilia swooned in place at the relief she fealt.

Leading the humans away from the house was an easy task, with only Lilia left to finish the transaction after everyone were outside, she met with the one they called Oracle and handed it the other card before turning away to leave this very strange adventure.
