Even though she was on guard she didn't come across a single monster as she started making her mental map. She started by finding her way to the entrance of the dungeon so she had an anchor to start from.
She followed the wall until she reached the corner and then followed it to another corner until she made it to the table by the stairs and then she continued on sniffing the air and marking landmarks onto her mental map until she made it all the way back to the dungeon entrance. It took her a little over an hour to walk the perimeter taking her sweet time, waiting for something to jump out at her. Better safe than sorry.
Now that she was at the front entrance she decided to walk right through the center of the floor. Yet again it only took her ten minutes to get to the cabins and another fifteen minutes to get to the opposite side where she found the table with cute figurines playing across it.
She saw the stairs but ignored them as she hadn't even met a monster on the first floor. She was tempted to look though. And once the thought hit her it was almost impossible to squash. She buried the temptation deep down under the thought that she would absolutely die if she came across a monster at the bottom of the stairs.
She had completely forgotten that her battle dress could handle the attack of monsters level thirty five and lower. So she turned around and decided to explore the rest of the floor and find some monsters to start leveling up.
She was a little surprised, as soon as she made the decision to start hunting monsters a creature appeared in front of her. She used her skill on it because she wanted to know what she was fighting.
[Ice vole. Small mammal that is close to the bottom of the food chain in the tundra. They create tunnels to live in and have great memory. They use ice magic to reinforce their tunnels and burrows.]
It was cute and harmless. This dungeon was so nice. It was helping her level up before it gave her anything that could harm her. Her heart felt warm. She lifted her scepter above her head and smashed it down at the incoming monster.
It couldn't handle a single hit from her and became meat paste but before she could focus on it too closely it turned into a figurine like the one she had seen on the table at the end of the floor. She was delighted as she picked it up and stuffed it into her storage ring. She fought another ten voles before she got a break.
Her arms ached already from lifting the scepter up and down but she felt fulfilled by what she had been able to accomplish. She was finally at level five. She had received two pelts and eight chunks of fresh meat. She almost ate it raw when she saw it. She decided to go back to the cabin and cook her feast. Fresh meat was a treat.
She didn't encounter any more monsters on her way to the safe zone but she never let her guard down until she heard the reminder ding that she was back in the safe zone. She was so excited to cook her prey.
She pulled out her fresh cuts of meat and tossed them on the table before going over to the stove and making sure it had charcoal in it. She used her scepter to create a fireball to light it and then tossed her cuts of meat right on the charcoal.
No need to be fancy. It's not the first time she's cooked like this. She watched as the meat began to release oil and started to turn golden brown and crispy. It wasn't long before she snatched all eight pieces off the charcoal and headed to the table.
She was drooling, it was so hard to get to the table with her hands full of hot meat. She placed it all on the table and stopped holding herself back. She picked up a piece and stuffed it in her mouth. Even though it was plain and cooked on charcoal it was like heaven to her.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
It only took her five minutes to eat all eight pieces. She pulled out a water skin and drank to her fill. Then she washed her face off in the wash room and crawled into the warm bed and fell asleep.

I didn't want to kill her the very first time she left the cabin, not that I would actually kill her. I do have a bottom line. She's a child. So I only sent out some voles. She smashed those guys without any hesitation. My kind of gal. But she didn't use any magic and only used brute strength.
I was beginning to think she didn't know any magic until she went back and used her scepter to light the stove in the cabin. At least she would have hot food. I wish she would have pulled out some of the garlic and onion from her storage ring but we'll work on that. It was fascinating to watch her follow the perimeter of the dungeon and then walk through her dungeon and situate herself before getting ready for a fight. She was so cute.
I'm going to take advantage of her sleep and getting started on my next floor. I've never had a time crunch like this before.. She is definitely going to cut into my dungeon building time but it will be worth it. I knock down the wall where my labyrinth ends and start digging my spiral staircase.
It doesn't take long before I hear the usual ding and while I debated about how big to make this floor I realized that the cute fox girl has already woken up and is out and about hunting voles. Either she didn't sleep very much or I spent more time thinking than I thought.
I call my night shift over and get back to stalking, I mean training the cute fox girl. But first I pull up my notifications to see my gains and consider my next floor before I get too sucked into her training.
[Congratulations on finishing your seventh floor. One thousand five hundred dungeon points as a reward. Please choose the ecosystem for your next floor and also your next starter monster. Monsters will be based off ecosystem.]
[Grassland, wetlands, desert, forest, coral reef, tundra, terrestrial, savanna, rainforest, freshwater, lake, taiga boreal, mangrove, swamp, volcanic, mountain]
I still have so many good choices that I haven't used yet. It's really hard to choose. My craziest idea is a floor of floating islands.. It sounds dp expensive but also like a lot of fun. But on the other hand the desert and the swamp both sound cool too.
Hmmm. The swamp is probably pretty similar to the mangroves on some level. On the other hand the desert is brand new territory for me so it's decided. Now back to training.
I summon twenty voles and send them at her in groups of five. She's using her scepter again today, I want her to start launching fireballs all over the place. After smashing all twenty of the voles into meat paste she picked up her loot drops and started trudging back towards the cabins.
I summon a single giant snowy rat and set it on her path. I don't think she can lift that scepter over her head again. She's probably trying to build up some arm strength. Once she sees the giant snow rat in front of her she freezes. I don't see panic on her face but maybe a little shock.
She tries to lift her scepter up above her head but I can see the trembling in her arms and she's unable to do more than bring it in front of her. Her eyes harden and she bends her knees ready to jump out of the way but she's slow from the cold morning spent fighting, she wasn't expecting the rat to shoot a snow ball at her.
It's not a very hard snow ball but it caught her off guard and she launched a fireball with her scepter and melted the snow ball and killed the giant rat in one go and got a figurine for her troubles. She looked pretty surprised at the power of her fireball. She picked up the figurine and put it in her storage and hurried back to the cabins.
Well that was fun.

She was rushing back to the cabin after killing the giant rat, she was a little shocked by the fireball she had shot at it but mostly surprised at how well she handled the situation though. She wouldn't lie, she did go blank for a second when she saw the monster but she snapped right out of it when she saw that snow ball coming at her. She even had time to do an identify on it.
[Giant snow rat. Large rodent that has adapted to live in the tundra. It shoots snow balls at unsuspecting prey to throw them to the ground to kill them.]
She felt much better once she heard the ding reminding her she had entered the safe zone again. She had gotten twelve cuts of meat and eight pelts. They were small but super soft. She would get as many as should could and make it into a fur blanket.
She pulled her meat cuts out of her storage and followed the same procedure as the day before. She knew she had other stuff to eat in her storage ring but she wanted to enjoy the meat she hadn't been able to eat for so many years. In a few more weeks she would stop eating it all the time. She needed to eat a lot to put on weight and add some muscles to her weak body. After she crawled into the bed she fell asleep quickly.
