Lilith Pov
I summon twenty five pairs of giraffes and pumas on the second floor. Forty five pairs of the limpkins, yellow crowned night herons, peregrine falcons, barred owls and forty manatees for the third floor. And for the fourth floor I summon one hundred pairs of chipmunk and mice and ten pairs of badgers. I don't need that many bullies yet.
I peak in to the third floor and find it's late morning so I search the floor until I find the group hunting. I'm a little surprised to see the girl out hunting with them. How long was I distracted for?! I run my senses over her and find she's still pretty weak. She probably just started coming out with them recently.
I didn't miss that much. I'm not used to working on a shift anymore. I am happy to see she is using one of the wands I left in the cabin. I focus on the boy's cabin and find the cabin empty, so I peak into the other cabin to find the four youngest children writing something in the sand in the safe zone.
If I had to take a guess, I would guess they were practicing their letters. That's so cute. They are a little old for coloring books but who cares I'm going to do my best to make some for them. Everyone deserves to have fun once in a while.
I remember after trying for only a little bit that I suck at drawing stuff, I never had that talent. I could color pretty well though. I ask the system to help me with my best puppy dog expression. The system is not impressed and ignores me. Well fine!
I'll just give them blank spiral notebooks and colored pencils and let them draw stuff. Oddly enough I can remember walking up to my father as a child and telling him I couldn't find my pencil sharpener and I needed help.
He had me bring him all the pencils I wanted sharpened and he pulled out his pocket knife and went to work. He never bothered to find my sharpener. The older kids can do the same for these kids.
I put the spiral notebooks, colored pencils and the soul empowering gems on the table in the cabin for when the hunting party comes back. You're never too old to be creative. I hope they all take a break and draw something. It doesn't take long before the children outside find the new items and begin celebrating. I'm glad they like them.
A few hours go by before the hunting party returns to the safe zone to find the children at the table in the cabin drawing up a storm or writing each others names. I thought it was really cute. Kat smiled the brightest when she saw the gifts, I don't know why but her smile just makes me so happy. I can't believe I gave this up for over two years. Kat picks up the soul empowering gems off the table and puts them in her storage ring.
She used her casserole dish to bake some fish she caught, probably some variant of snapper if I had to guess. There were so many of those. I wonder if they will catch one of the giant groupers that lurk in the deeper ends of the mangroves someday.
That would be fun to watch. The boys call it a night and go back to their cabin to fall asleep while the girls stay up a bit later drinking some tea. The girls take advantage of the moment to get Kat to write words down or spell them out for them.
Once they fall asleep I check out my newly created monsters. First I'll check on the goblin werewolves. They have become the leaders of the wolves on the eighth floor. They can obviously communicate together.
I guess I should have expected that. They brought all of the wolves together, killed those who wouldn't bend underfoot as an example and now they dominated the floor. I was quite impressed. At least one of my creations is a success.
The other one still has me on the fence. I thought the slime coral mix would be better than what it is I guess. It has spread, but I don't think I like it. I'm gonna scrap it. I've never done that in all my time as a dungeon. I confirm with the system and delete it from the dungeon. Done.
I still think the coral mix had potential though so I scroll through my list of monsters until I come across the myconids. They are a much better choice than the slimes. I click on it and put in the box and put one of the many corals in to the other. The system shows a price of two thousand dp. That's not terrible. I click accept and wait for the system to show me what comes up.
It's very similar to the myconids but very colorful and a little more deformed. They don't seem to have limbs per se. The one i'm looking at is purple and looks like the antlers of a stag or an elk. It was beautiful though. I saved the pattern and summoned three hundred of the little guys. I think they can move? The myconids could move. I'll have to check on them later and see what they have become.

I'm really tempted to use the goblins as the base for a furry dungeon. All my fluffy monsters stand on two legs and have fingers. It sounds a bit weird once I say it out loud though so maybe not. I wonder if I should mix a goblin with a dolphin or a shark. Picturing it is hard but everything I imagine is just awful. I wonder if the goblin/wolf thing was just a fluke.
At this point I don't even care anymore. I'm gonna do it. I click on the coral catshark and add it to the first box and then I add a goblin to the second one. The system shows me a price of two thousand dp. That's the minimum if I had to guess. I click accept and watch as a crazy look monster pops up on the screen. It kind of reminds me of that monster from that old fifties movie. Creature from the black lagoon but not quite so scary looking and colored quite nicely.
I found that the longer I stared at it the longer I liked it. I saved the pattern before I debated about where to set them loose. I hesitated for a moment before I landed on the sewer/mine. I think they should be able to managed there.
I summon thirty pairs of them and wash my hands of them. Hopefully the kobolds don't massacre them like they did the normal goblins. I don't think they should though. These guys seem much stronger than the normal goblins. So i'm much more hopeful this time around.
This monster creation thing isn't that hard after all. In a flash of inspiration I decide to mix two of my mixed breed foxes. My eyes would look stars if I had any right now. I click on the water/fire type and put it in one of the boxes and then I choose the water/wind because I think it can help empower it and put it in the other box.
When I look at the price I have a little sticker shock. It's four thousand dp to mix the two. Now that I've thought about it though, it will drive me crazy if I don't do it. I click accept and watch in amazement as my new fox is created. It's wonderful!
I feel like I'm about to cry. It has two tails. One is deep blue like the sea and the other is a pale blue. It's body is mostly dark blue but it does have some pale blue streaks running through it's pelt. It's larger then the other foxes in my dungeon. Closer to Kat's size actually.
I think the water affinity is the deep blue tail but I'm not sure what the pale blue one is. Is it wind or fire? Is it cold fire? I want to know! I need an analyze skill or something. I check with the system and it confirms the ninth floor is a suitable location for them. I save the pattern and summon a male and female and have them set up a den in my cave.
I want to be as close to them as I can. I don't think they have gills, so much as they use their water affinity to separate the oxygen from the hydrogen and use that to breathe. I'm guessing. I don't really know. They are good swimmers though.
I keep getting distracted and not summoning the sharks and whales for my ninth floor. I have enough mana to start summoning some sharks so I click on the list to see what my options are.
They are whale shark, reef shark, white tip shark, black tip shark, nurse shark, lemon shark, coral cat shark and great hammerhead shark. So eight regular size sharks and one large shark. I summon twenty pairs of everything but the whale shark.
When I focus on Kat and the group they are all in the cabin by the stairs holding a gem in hand and talking. I'm in luck. I get to see someone use the gem I helped to create. Kat's face looks pretty serious, she's probably explaining how painful it's going to be. The cute gremlins all nod and one by one lift the gem to their forehead.
The oldest boy has the worst reaction to it out of everyone. He looks really pale. I wonder what he went through. I want to pat him on the back and let him know i've been where he is. Kat drives the group from the cabin with some words and then lifts her own gem to her forhead.
I'm more than a little surprised to see her almost sobbing on the floor as she gasps and holds her chest. Oh my poor heart. I still really have no clue what she has been through. But that was painful to witness. She pulls herself into her bed and passes out.
I'm still a little in shock seeing how the soul empowering gem reacts with different people. The children were fine but the oldest boy and Kat both have a terrible time with them. I'm so lost in my own thoughts I don't realize time has kept going without me.
What brought me back to myself was the fact that something was happening outside my dungeon. It felt like a storm but the entrance wasn't flashing with lightning. After a few minutes of storm like activity a woman and a young girl appeared at my entrance.
Instinctively I knew who they are. My patron Goddess and Ani were here to visit me. Phew. Is it just me or is it really hot in this underwater ocean cave? I might be sweating.
Ani is adorable, if I didn't know better I would say she was twelve or thirteen years old. She has a very unique hair color, they both do.
It's parted down the middle and one side is white and the other side is black. Looking at her face her eyes look like rubies. They are bright red and I feel like I'm being sucked in to them. If I didn't know she was a child Goddess I would scream vampire right here and now. She is pale like moonlight and has a sharp facial features.
Even in this life I envy my friend's good looks. Although I do look really beautiful myself in my purple and black stylish core so I'm not too envious. Of course they don't hesitate to enter my dungeon. I make sure to send out a thought to all my monsters to be on their best behaviour or die.
