Lilith Pov
Well. It's just raining dp today. I have the urge to yawn and try to take a nap. It's a shame it's not possible. I feel very satisfied. I peak in on the men that stayed in the cabin. There's four men left.
I wonder if they realize just how lucky they are right now. Do they already know those guys aren't coming back? Probably not just yet right? I'm a little curious to see how long it takes them to realize they won't be coming back. A few hours? A day? Do they even care?
Ah. It's been so long since i've gotten new visitors. To think I was scared to begin with. What a crazy thing. I'm a murder dungeon. I should be the one scaring people. The men in the second cabin gather up the remaining food from the first cabin and stay there for a day before there was any movement.
They do eventually poke their heads out of the cabin but to my surprise it looks like they have the intenton to leave my dungeon. Huh. That's different. I wonder what they think they are going to do? I know there's no way off the island but I guess these chumps don't. I hear the ding of a notification but I ignore it.
I didn't stop them from going outside. As far as I know it's more dangerous out there than in here. At least I have shelter from the elements. It doesn't take long for them to return with looks of despair. They must have discovered it's impossible to leave.
I giggle at their misery and decide to wait a little longer before I start messing with this group.
I do my best to suppress my murderous instincts and check on Kat and the kids. I don't even know how long it's been since I last did that. I peak in on the third floor and find them fighting with the pod of dolphins. Well. That's really weird. Since when are dolphins so violent?
Did I miss something? The dolphins have always been bundles of happiness. I ask the system if there's anything wrong with my dolphins but it's quick to respond that they are just fine. The dolphins just don't like to be the one to strike first but they won't hold back after being attacked. Well. Who knew?
I continue to watch as they try to fight with the dolphins. It doesn't seem to be going very well for them. The dolphins seem to have the upper hand. I watch on as the situation begins to go poorly for the Kat's group. They seemed to have bitten off more than they can chew this time.
I call off the dolphins before they can drown one of the kids who's shield has just broken as he clutched his head. I watch as the group sighs in relief. They are so lucky I came to check on them. They would have died horribly if not. Well maybe not all of them but at least a few.
It seems they did manage to kill a few of the dolphins but they don't have a victorious vibe going on at all. I think they all know they almost died. Must be a heart wrenching moment for them. They will get over it. I'm sure. They walk back to the cabin in silence. Probably trying to figure out how to do better next time.
I haven't even bothered to check the group on the second floor since they got there. I was more concerned with being a good dungeon. My patron Goddess is the goddess of balance after all. If you do good in my dungeon you get rewarded but if you think of doing bad shit you shall be judged.
I guess I won't try to kill those four men right away. They didn't act like beasts. I'll just let the dungeon take it's own course with them. I will look over the loot drops from the first floor. It's all still just meat and pelt options.
There's nothing new with the loot drops. Hmm.. What should I do? I guess I could give them an axe. Decisions, decisions. There are trees on this floor now. Would it be crazy to add a staff in to the loot drops somehow?
This is the biggest downside to people not knowing they will be coming to my dungeon. Well I guess these people were living in a mine in poor conditions. I really do need to figure out how to get some boxing gloves or some brass knuckles for system's sake.
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
Oh of course the system hears me this time. I can purchase additional loot drops but it won't come cheap. Stupid system. I already knew I could purchase stuff from the system. I bought the onesie pattern. Didn't I? I guess I have no choice.
I pull up the system store and find the cheaper weapon options. I see batons, blackjacks, clubs, throwing clubs and a pair of brass knuckle boxing gloves. It takes everything in me to not buy all of the weapons I see.
I don't want to spoil the first floor people. I guess i'll choose the baton. It costs two hundred dp. It's some type of metal but it doesn't look as nearly as good as my stuff does. Now what do I make it the loot drop for? Voles are too easy. Flying monsters seem like a mean choice. Giant rats? Maybe. The foxes might be a worthy foe to beat in exchange for a weapon.
Wolves would be taking it too far. Foxes it is then. I make sure the drop ratio is skewed in the baton's favor. If they manage to take down a fox they should be rewarded with a weapon. Unless they have terrible luck that is.
I don't care what happens to this group of men so i'm not going to keep track of them full time. I'll just peak in once in a while. I'm more interested in the group on the second floor. Although the floor may seem like a paradise it's quite dangerous.
They would have had a better chance of survival if they had gone down to the third floor and crossed paths with Kat's group. As it stands I don't know how they will be able to leave the safe zone. There are weapon drops on my second floor.
They all come from the most dangerous monsters. The pumas, lions, hyenas and even the proghorn has an antler dagger. Hmmm. I could see someone screwing up and being stabbed by their horns. Should I add batons to this floor too?
Being a dungeon can be such a pain some times. I want to just kill these women but then that leaves me with five kids and no one to care for them. I sigh. Again. I guess I can change the loot drop for the gazelles. It's like the weakest monster I have on this floor.
If they can catch one they deserve it. I don't know what else to say. Should I just give then an axe and see if that solves all of their problems? I can't see them catching anything on this floor. Maybe they heard the awful screams and they decide to move back to the first floor soon.
I'll put an axe in the safe zone just in case they decide to not leave this floor. They can't be unarmed. That would be crazy. I hope they can make do with that. I almost feel like a headache is about to come over me. I think I need to take a break. It's been more than a few days since my latest visitors arrived. I've been watching them non stop. I should make sure my tenth floor is coming along well.
I wonder how my elk are doing. They should be done turning into firey beasts right? I wonder what they look like. I bring my focus back to the tenth floor and just marvel at the difference between my tenth floor and my first floor. I've come such a long way. I really do love being a dungeon core.
I've seen more since i've become a dungeon that I ever did when I was alive. I can't wait to see what other marvelous ecosystems I get to play host to in the future. I remind myself to focus and I search the floor for my elk. It only takes a minute to find them. Did they get bigger? They look like moving hills. They were just on fire the last time I saw them! What the fuck happened?
Yet again I wish I had an analyze skill or something of the sort. I doubt a low level skill is much more helpful than not knowing at all though. Which is why I didn't pick a low level skill. I wonder when the next milestone is. Probably level fifteen or twenty right?
I can almost taste it. I don't know if I could double or nothing again next time it comes up. I am awfully impatient already. I wish I could pinch myself everytime I got distracted. I need to focus on my elk. They are massive compared to when they were first summoned.
If they barely reached five feet tall before, now they are about twelve feet tall. They look like a rock statue of an elk that's been caught on fire for some time and is starting to melt. They don't have any fur. Lava drips from their sides as they walk, like drops of rain.
These guys are awesome. I look over their drops and I start laughing wildly when the system gives me the option to have them drop jerky. System you are so mean. There are other options thankfully. I can have them drop a heat stone. It's pretty basic according to my knowledge.
The best option I see for the loot drop are the speed boots. They use the users mana to run up to forty miles per hour for five minutes, or how ever long the users mana lasts. That's a great drop honestly. I never did look over the lava beetle and firefly loot drops.
The fireflies drop a light gem. It's not very large but the amount of light it gives off is incredible. I imagine they would be great for mining. The lava beetles drop a similar light gem but this one has heat too. Sounds just perfect for a bath actually or washing dishes.
