My fourth floor is finally full of large herds of grazing animals. It's picturesque honestly. I'm most stunned by my foxes. They are every where I look on the fourth floor and there's so many different types.
I started with four types but now there was at least four new types. Water/wind type, water/ice type, ice/fire type, water/fire type and of course the wind/ice type from the first floor. The ice/fire and water/fire types are the most exotic of the bunch.
The first is a cold type of fire. It's strange but I love the light blue color of the flame. Their pelts are gorgeous, the same blue as their flame. And the water/fire type really just blows my mind. It can't be brought on land and only exists on the water.
It's fascinating really. It's a deep blue, like the deepest depths of the ocean. I wonder if it can purify impurities from dirty water. That could be very useful on the sixth floor.. Hmm. Interesting. I'll have to check that out.
My new water/fire type fox is amazing. It can do anything I've asked it to do so far. It can purify water and attack or defend with hot water. It's deadly. My foxes are monsters. They make me so happy.
I summon ten pairs to the sixth floor too see what happens. Will they purify the acidic water or become tainted instead. Muahaha. I can't wait to find out. I know I said I didn't want them but they could be amazing.
I like the acidic water but it's not acidic enough to be considered dangerous to my delvers in the short term. Maybe if they drank it? But come on it's orange. Who would drink that? I still have hope for the frogs and gars though so we'll see.
It's time to check on my lions on the fifth floor. I'm absolutely disappointed. They didn't turn into shadow lions. They are beautiful gem covered monsters. It looks like they eat gems and metals too now. Sad face.
That's the reason I won't add a fox to this floor. I love foxes because they are so fluffy. I would start a revolution if they lost their fluffy tails.
I'm going to make a completely dark floor in the future. People will hate it. But I'll love all of my shadow monsters equally. Tehehe. The skunks haven't changed at all and I want to celebrate but that can't be right so I check them over really closely.
Wow they really haven't changed, just metal nails and teeth. I hope someone gets sprayed. There's no where to bathe in a mine. Muahaha.
The goblins have finally reached this floors maximum population, three hundred. They can no longer reproduce unless someone dies. Even though they have access to the sixth floor they are not allowed to make a village there because it's the domain of the kobolds.
It is nice to know there is a population limit to each floor. I'm hopeful that in the future the goblins can cooperate with the lions. Phew. I wipe away the non existent sweat from my core and contemplate how long it takes me to do this now a days. I'm getting to be so big. And I still have a whole floor to go over.
My sixth floor is actually really beautiful if you can get over the smell. Well there is a floral scent in the air but it's faint now that the floor has settled. The roaches have done what they do best and they could be found everywhere. Disgusting creatures.
The water slimes are the best monster to counter the roaches though. They dissolve them when ever they come across them. That makes me happy. The alligator lizards and water monitors also eat them so I guess they serve a purpose. Despite my extreme dislike the leeches still roam the tunnels, enough said.
The giant slugs don't really do anything but eat and I finally know that they mucus sac they drop is full of acid. It dissolves whatever they slide over and helps them make new tunnels. It could be useful for a weapon or defense.

The sewer crabs are actually still blue. So maybe they won't change color to match their surroundings. Now that I look closer their claws do look extra sharp, I'm pretty sure they have some sort of metal there.
The frogs have actually taken the turn I wanted and are little acidic balls. Nothing can save you if they converge and jump on you. It would be a nightmare. The gars seem extra aggressive now that they live in acidic water, no visible changes but their teeth have become sharper and stronger hence the aggression.
The giant bats have taken to living in the illusion flowers and I think they can see through illusions now so I'm hopeful it won't be long before they can make them. It's too early to check on my water/fire type foxes. I'll let them settle for a while before I see how they have changed.
It's been a long time since I'd thought of them but I can actually purchase alligators from the list on the third floor. I think this environment is perfect for them. The gators cost me two hundred dp and they drop meat and swords too just like the croc. I summon fifty pairs of them and I come to the conclusion that the kobolds are no longer the masters of this floor.
Ever since I killed those five men my system has changed. I finally have access to my status but I still can't see status info for other people or my monsters. I guess that's a special skill.
It doesn't say anything cool or give me any more perks. The only affinity I have right now is spacial, I don't even have a level well I mean I guess my floor number is considered my level but it's nothing like the people who visit. They get skills when they level up.
Of course they have to go out and level those skills up too so it's a lot of work. Those five men were not very high level when you look at the big picture but they were capable. They were all between level nineteen and twenty five but their skills were almost all maxed out.
That takes effort. Pity they were human scum and didn't consider my monsters are smart and I used that to my advantage by teaching them strategies.
According to the system I've been a dungeon core for nine years and five months. So I was pretty close when I said a decade. Honestly it doesn't feel like it's been that long.
Mainly because I keep myself busy. I wonder if I will encounter any more roadblocks on my path to building my dungeon. I sure hope not. I'm sure my wonderful patron Goddess knows what to do. I bet she's already looking for more delvers for me.
I think it's time to summon my kobolds to the sixth floor so I can start on my next floor. I'll summon twenty pairs of them and leave them be just like I did with the goblins. They look a bit more intelligent than the goblins.
They look pleased with their surroundings so I just leave them to it. I do wonder if they will get along with the goblins. I don't even think the goblins have explored the sewer/mine yet. Cowards, the bunch of them.
It turns out the kobolds are much smarter than the goblins and they started hunting and building huts before they started on reproducing. I was quite impressed. They don't actually talk though.
They warble and growl at each other and that seems to get there point across. I think the goblins just grunt and yell. It's fascinating to compare the two. While I find the goblins cute I think the kobolds are just adorable. Their tails drag across the ground and they have dragon like eyes. They range from green to blue in scale color. Basically giant lizards that walk on two legs.
Now that I've summoned all the monsters on this floor I just need to make sure it settles well like all my other floors before I move on. I still need to figure out what I want to do with my next floor. I'm hesitant to keep mixing ecosystems this early in my dungeon. I am still a young dungeon technically. I don't want to go overboard and make something crazy.
I don't know how much time passed before the goblins wandered into the sixth floor sewer/mine. It did not go well.. The kobolds and the goblins are fighting. Even though the goblins greatly out number the kobolds, the kobolds are much smarter and united.
It didn't take long for the kobolds to win and while they did lose a number of individuals to the goblins they also gained pick axes and experience. I did consider cutting off the connection between the two floors but deemed it unnecessary. Both sides benefit from a little skirmish after all.
I'm not surprised that the water/fire foxes haven't managed to purify the water on the sixth floor. It was made by the system. They have taken on some acidic properties but it's still pretty weak. I hope it gets stronger with time.
The knockers haven't changed at all but the minx have turned different colors probably from the gems but that's it. I'm not let down they are really cute. I'm ready to start my next floor and I've come to the conclusion that I should have the system make a labyrinth for me rather than try to carve it out myself. It should be interesting to see what the system does with free reign.
I have been noticing it is rather snarky to me lately but I don't take it personally. I'll make it work for my dp in the future. That's the only thing I have that it wants. I don't think I'm ever going to win an argument with the system though. Sigh. It's whatever. After this floor i'll go back to the standard ecosystems for a while. They are pretty quick and easy.
