I have this idea that if I can make my soul large enough I can keep myself from being enslaved later on down the line. It's weird but I think of enslavement as a box keeping my soul in check but my theory is that the box is always the same size so if my soul is large enough it won't be fully contained and I would eventually break free or not be enslaved at all even.
It sounds completely ridiculous the more I think about it but I just can't drop it and no matter how many times I try to make an enchantment for my soul I just can't seem to understand what I'm missing. I can make an enhancement enchantment but I don't know to to connect it to the soul.
I'm a little hesitant to just slap it on my core and hope that's all it takes. At best nothing happens at all but worst case I fucking blow up and die again. I don't want to die again. The soul part has to be the hardest part. I'll keep thinking about it in the back on my mind as I continue filling up my fourth floor.
I decided it was time to summon fifty red- backed salamanders and let them loose all over the floor and then I summoned thirty wild boars, twenty bobcats and twenty monkeys so the forest was more lively.
Having done all that I can consider my floor done but I'm thinking I want to buy another monster with some dp. I know my floors so far haven't really been a challenge and I'm still hesitant to summon a croc for my third floor but I think they should be able to handle a bear so I'll let the floor settle for a bit and then i'll buy a bear with dp.
At this point I've completely lost track of time and I'm not even sure how long I've been a dungeon, I'm sure the system could tell me but I find that I doesn't really bother me. Time has no real bearing on me anymore.
All my floors are independent ecosystems that I no longer have to monitor after I make them. They hunt each other and raise their own levels and then they die and the cycle repeats. I'm pretty sure there's a level cap for each floor but I'm not sure I don't really pay any attention to those things.
Even my own status is completely oblivious to me. It's not that I don't want to know but for some reason I don't have access to it yet. It's weird but I don't think too much about it.
I still haven't figured out that stupid soul enhancement enchantment and it has begun to frustrate me. So I've decided to spend the one hundred and fifty dp on the black bear and set loose two in my forest and set the loot as a bear onesie, might as well reuse the pattern.
They can rule the floor if they choose to. I throw a ring of blending into my forest as an after thought. If someone has fate with it they will find it.
I'm going to start on my next floor to get rid of this frustrating feeling. I choose a different route this time though and I decide to form a natural looking cave that leads underground to my fifth floor.
No stairs this time, just a slow slope down until I get the ding I've been listening for and then I go crazy carving tunnels. I'm not going to choose an ecosystem this time, I've decided to go dungeon original and make a labyrinth. I consider my options and make a convoluted path that covered the entire floor. It was massive, about three miles deep and wide.
I could see people getting lost and dying down here if I don't follow a pattern so I try to keep to the left hand rule. As long as you keep your left hand on the wall you should find your way out. It took me so long to finish it that I'm sure someone might actually die in there if they come unprepared.

After finishing my tunnels I decided to pull up my notifications and see what happened because I didn't follow the normal procedure.
[Congratulations on finishing your fourth floor. Eight hundred dungeon points as a reward. Please choose the ecosystem for your next floor and also your next starter monster. Monsters will be based of ecosystem.]
[Grassland, wetlands, desert, forest, coral reef, tundra, terrestrial, savanna, rainforest, freshwater, lake, taiga boreal, mangrove, swamp, volcanic, mountain ]
[System registers the desires of the core and comes up with two solutions, monsters will be chosen based on choice.]
[Choice one. Sewer system tunnels]
[Choice two. Mining system tunnels]
Well that was unexpected. I didn't think they wouldn't let me have a labyrinth. Maybe it has something to do with the way I carved it. It is pretty round in shape instead of square. I kind of had the thought that the system would fix it for me but it made it better. Sewer tunnel sounds mean.. And oddly hilarious at the same time.
Mining sounds very profitable though. Hmmm.. I almost know what to expect for the sewer monsters but I'm very curious about what will show up in a mining tunnel. It sounds like I would finally get a true fantasy monster.
I've decided to take a moment and step back to think about this decision. I'll check on my floors and see if that influences my decision at all. Either way I'm pretty sure I won't be getting a new fox this floor.
My first floor can handle anything you throw at it right now, well except people. I doubt my first floor would last longer than half a day to trudge through in the snow and ice fighting my monsters. My second floor is easier to traverse but lord help you if you come across any of the honey badgers or cheetahs.
The rest of the floor is pretty low key compared to them. Maybe another half day to clear it if you don't focus on killing all of the critters. I don't know if all my creatures would attack regardless of personality but I don't think so. I can't see a zebra attacking someone unless I urge them to.
The third floor really doesn't have any large predators and I'm starting to feel the need to summon some crocodiles to help keep the populations down. So I summon four pairs of them and turn a blind eye to my third floor for a while.
I set the loot as a spine sword and call it well earned. My fourth floor has blossomed into a breathtaking scenery, I hate to be biased but this is my favorite floor so far. My foxes have the largest community beside from the insects right now and I'm loving the varieties that are starting to come about.
Interesting enough my new red foxes love playing with fire so I'm interested to see how that works out with the grey foxes who loves playing with water. Hehehe these guys make my core so happy. I just love watching them jump around.
I've decided it's time to make a decision and stop putting it off. I'm going to choose the mining tunnels and hope for a fantasy monster. I'm sure the system knows what I want even better than I do.
[Congratulations on choosing your fifth ecosystem. This ecosystem is incompatible with your current location, but it's what you chose to do this time so below are your available monsters. Hint. Any monster summoned from another floor will adapt in different ways due to the influence of the new ecosystem.]
[Metal-eating moles, Metal slimes, Knockers, Giant rat, Myconids, Giant bats and Goblins. All monsters have some form of mana.]
It was interesting to see the walls change to a darker color but nothing else really changed from what I had done, the only thing the system added was lighting gems on the walls so it wasn't completely dark but it didn't help a bunch.
That's a very short and sweet list. I know most of my choices but the knockers and myconids stump me but the system explains them to me. Knockers are earth elementals that warn miners of impending danger and myconids are sentient mushrooms? They have had enough of being eaten and have decided to eat others now. Kind of scary to be honest but they are so tiny I'm sure you could stomp them to death..
I decide to set up my alter at the end of my mining tunnels it's just a wall right now but I'll get breaking it down soon enough to get started on my sixth floor. I am on a roll and I'm pretty sure I have a great idea for my next floor already.
