Lilith Pov
I pull up my list of monsters so I can decide what to summon next. Lava beetle, Firefly, Lava spirit, Volcanic mermaid, Lava fox, Lava bear, Lava eagle, Lava wolf, Giant lava spider and Lava drake(youth). I think it's time to check out the lava eagles and lava foxes.
I summon a lava eagle to see what it looks like and how big it is. It looks like a bright red rock shaped like an eagle with flame feathers covering it's body that drips lava. It looks too heavy to be able to fly but it has no problem taking off towards the volcano. I summon two hundred of them and watch as they set off.
I decide to check out the loot drops before I forget. They can drop gems commonly found in volcanoes such as Obsidian and Tourmaline, Peridot, Diamond and Gold. They are all beautiful volcanic gems and the Obsidian and Tourmaline come in a variety of colors.
Those are the common drops, the best option I see is a pair of binoculars. Those are going to be so handy in my dungeon when people get them. The floors are only going to get larger. Being able to see across them would be a huge boon. Ok. Now I want to summon my lava fox to see what i've got to work with.
I summon just one to get a good look at it. Yet again, it looks like a red angry rock shaped like a fox wrapped in flames, that drips lava. I love it anyway. It's perfect in it's own way. It's almost the same size as my two tailed water/fire/wind fox. I really need to come up with better names for my mixed element foxes. Like the acid fox.
I pull my attention back to my new foxes. I need to check out their loot drops. They drop the usual gems from the volcano or they drop fox gloves? They remind me of the gloves from the furry costumes. They are heat and fire proof. I almost imagine you could pick up lava with them.
That's really cool. I'm a little jealous actually. I want to have paws... Now that that's figured out I summon two hundred of them. And then I begin to worry about my elk. There's only twenty of them. I make it a point to summon one hundred more, they should be able to handle themselves with a herd that large. They are huge after all.
I feel much better now that i've focused back on doing my normal thing. I don't think I realized it before now but I don't really like people. I have a soft spot for kids. I couldn't have any of my own. I've always have pets to fill that hole in my heart. Even in this life the closest i'll get to having children are these monsters I create.
Ah. What a sob story. I can't think like that. I'm a dungeon core. I need to push people's limits and make them stronger or watch on as they die trying. It sounds cruel but it's the truth. I try to think of stuff that i've been forgetting to take care of. I should really make a list.
I need to make soul empowering gems for the people on the second floor. I need to check how much the cost is for having three floors running at once. I need to check on all the monsters i've created recently. I still need to go over the memories of the people I killed. My list keeps getting longer and longer and i'm pretty sure there's stuff i'm still forgetting.
Ok let's start small. I'll make the soul empowering gems for the seven people on the second floor. I'll hold on to them until i'm sure they are sleeping. Next, I ask the system how much it costs to run the second and third floors. The second floor is seven hundred dp in the case of a full wipe out like on the first floor. The third floor costs one thousand dp.
The costs are pretty high but both floors have more monsters than the first floor. So I feel it's justified. I decide to check on my monster creations so I focus my attention on the mine tunnels and look for my goblin plant monster. Woah. I rememeber they had multiplied but wow. The tunnel is covered in them now.

The only difference that I can see from the first and the others is the size difference. The original one is the largest of them all and towers over the others. I hesitate to call them goblin fairies because they don't have wings but that's the first thought that comes to mind when you see them all together. I'm not sure what i've created just yet. I hope they can handle their own issues when the delvers make it this far down.
Moving on, I want to check out my acid foxes. They are my pride and joy in the sewer/mine tunnels. They are so amazing and smart. Vicious and cunning too. Such marvelous creations. They have multiplied. There were only six to begin with but now there are dozens. I'm so happy with their growth.
I move my attention to my kobolds and i'm happy to see things have settled down and it doesn't seem like there's been much infighting lately. There's cute kobold pups running around everywhere and they seem to very happy with their lot in life. I move my attention to the labyrinth so I can check on the fire foxes I summoned there.
It only takes a moment for me to find them. They have a few similarities with the lava foxes I just got access to. They don't have any fur left. They kind of look like golems now. They spit out rocks or fireballs at attackers. I'm a little let down. This was what I tried to avoid in the mines. Nothing I can do about it now though.
I sigh deeply and move on to the desert so I can check on my abominations. I guess I should come up with a name for them huh? I will keep it simple and call them quill bears. Hopefully they are thriving and not floundering like the slimecor did.
It only takes a moment to find them. They live on the outskirts of the oasis as the pack of wolves won't let them live in the center with them. There are little baby quill bears running around. So I see hope for them. I think they can live on this floor just fine.
Maybe I should make some more monsters. My ratio of success to failure is pretty high. I wonder if I can keep the streak going. Choosing monsters to mix is always the hardest part but so far it's been successful. So i'll take a moment to go over my list thoroughly to choose two great monsters.
I wonder if I could get something comparable to an orc if I mix a wild boar with a goblin. That doesn't seem too far out of reach. Hmm. I feel like that mix might end up being particularly stupid, so I want to add something else in to the mix too. I think i'll use the black bear again.
I pull up my monster creator game and add the wild boar and the black bear to the boxes. I look at the price and find it's only two thousand dp. Cheap. I click accept and wait for the process to be over. When it's all said and done it looks almost the same. It's hair looks thicker and softer.
It doesn't have fingers or paws but it's hooves have sharp edges. It's eyes look more intelligent than before. I feel like this will make for a formidible opponent once i'm all done. I save the pattern so I can add it to my forest later. Now all I need to do is add goblin to the mix.
The kobolds would give it another defensive buff with the scales but I think adding the black bear was enough for defense. I'm hopeful for something large that can swing a weapon. I wonder if I should double up on the goblins?
They evolve right? I wonder if I can force that like with the foxes. I guess all I can do is try. I pull up my monster game to try it. I'm more than a little taken aback when I was told I could not mix two of the exact same monster together. All I heard was that I must alter one of them before they can mix.
So I pull up my list of affinities and add the earth affinity to the box. It costs three thousand dp but it will be worth it. I save the pattern for later. Once that's done I add a normal goblin to the second box and it actually works. What a loop hole. The price is four thousand dp but at this point I don't care.
I click accept and wait in suspense for it to finish. It worked! They look like the giant version of the goblins on my fifth floor. I'm so happy. The goblins on the fifth floor are only three feet tall. This goblin is about six feet tall. Now all that is left is to mix the bear pig thing with my beefed up goblin and see what I get.
Holy crap! It's six thousand dp to do this. This is my most expensive creation so far. I hope it works out. I still got some great patterns for this even if it doesn't work out like I planned. I click accept and wait to see the final result. It doesn't take long thankfully. It's quite ugly actually.
It stands up right on two legs and has two arms and ten fingers. It's covered in long bear fur but there are tusks protruding from his mouth. It's wearing a loin cloth like the goblins do. Honestly it looks like it came out of some Grimm book.
If I were to throw it on the tenth floor i'm sure it would give people nightmares. I think I'll wait before I summon this big boy. It looks too powerful for my current floors.
