I decided to wait until the sun was all the way out before starting on my fourth floor. I was really hoping someone would stumble upon me soon. I was starting to feel a little lonely, I was grateful I had all sort of cute monsters I could stare at for some comfort but it would be nice to have some more information about the world outside my dungeon.
All I knew was that I was on an Eternal Ice Cliff or something like that is what the system had called it. It had sounded imposing so I had been excited at the time. I had animals come in so I knew there must be a path but apparently it's really hard to find or something.
I decided to focus on my third floor monsters and see how they were developing. My fiddler crabs and moon jellyfish had migrated to the deeper end of my floor and shared the territory with the dolphins who loved to play with them, the tree crabs had stayed closer to the shallow end of the floor and the upside down jellyfish and horseshoe crab had chosen the middle area of the floor, further away from the dolphins.
My fish and snake populations are doing great and it seems the gars have finally had some young to keep up with the growing populations.
The grey foxes and marsh rabbits have a fast rate of reproduction and haven't disappointed me, they have taken over most the the dry areas of the marsh forest and I don't think I have to worry about them and the fishing cats are pretty lazy, when they aren't fishing at least, they love to lounge around in the trees. The turtles have laid a bunch of eggs but they don't really stick to one area of the floor, I see them everywhere.
I could hear my tree frogs everywhere, it looks like the had decided to forgo food altogether and they were the only monster I had that solely depended on mana to survive, thankfully I had more than enough mana to support them but I'll be on the lookout for something to feed to them.
The tree snakes that have been able to catch the tree frogs look much healthier compared to those that haven't yet. Mana makes everything better apparently. All of the other snakes stay in the water and don't get many chances to eat the mana frogs but they don't really need the extra mana but I'm sure they will be a favorite among the fishers, snake skin with water resistance sounds like great material.
I decided to look over the loot drops and they were all pretty much the same as the second floor but with more details, I could finally choose a shape to mold the pelts into, it was pretty basic, a backbag or a pair a shoes, the snakes gave me a simple belt pattern and I decided to make a dolphin onesie as the dolphin loot.
I'm sad they have to die but I'm not letting this chance go. I even lined it with soft fur so it can be worn in the cold. I actually cost me two hundred dp to buy the pattern for the onesie but it was worth it. So far it's my best loot. If any woman saw it she would die from the heart palpitations. I'm sure princesses would love it. I'm sure there are princesses on magical planets. It's just the norm.
Turtles drop a shell that can be used as a shield, but I doubt it would handle much. Other than those nothing else has changed pelts and meat and throwing daggers are still the standard. Once that was settled I peaked at my entrance and saw the sun was bright again so I decided it was time to move on to my next floor.
I decided to make my spiral stairway on my island so I cut it down to half the size since I didn't need to watch over this whole floor anymore and started digging my stairs. I didn't find anything new when I dug my way down this time but I did find more of the same stuff I already had. Gems, gold, silver iron and copper and more useless minerals, now that my floors have day and night cycles I don't need to make stars for my floors like I did the first floor.

I wasn't sure what do with them besides making my figurines. I heard the usual ding when I finished my stairs but I ignored it like usual and dug out my floor until the system stopped me from digging anymore.
The sun was disappearing when I finally finished digging which surprised me a little bit but not really. The fourth floor was huge. At least four miles in length and depth and I was excited for it to be in an eternal state of autumn. As a Floridian I don't really get to see the leaves change so I'm jumping at the bit to pick my ecosystem.
There's no debate this time around I'm going to choose the forest ecosystem and hold the picture in my mind of the leaves turning red orange yellow and brown. I'm sure it will work, the system always seems to just know exactly what I want for each of my floors. So I didn't hesitate and I pulled up my notifications to see how much dp I got this time.
[Congratulations on finishing your third floor. Five hundred dungeon points as a reward. Please choose the ecosystem for your next floor and also your next starter monster. Monsters will be based of ecosystem.]
[Grassland, wetlands, desert, forest, coral reef, tundra, terrestrial, savanna, rainforest, freshwater, lake, taiga boreal, mangrove, swamp, volcanic, mountain ]
I chose the forest option and held the image I had in my mind and watched as my fourth floor magically changed. It would never cease to amaze me every time I did that. Huge trees grew in just ten minutes and there was a river that snaked through the whole floor.
I would have to make some bridges to make sure my monsters could be on both sides. There was a lot of vegetation, and I mean a lot. I have maple, oak, elm, aspen, birch, blue spruce, red cedar and pine and live oak trees.
I have honeysuckle, azalea and veburnum shrubs and wisteria, grape, poison ivy and Virginia creeper vines. I was a little surprised to find out the last one actually has poisonous berries. I hoped no one would eat them. I pull up my notifications so I can choose my monsters.
[Congratulations on choosing your fourth ecosystem. This ecosystem is incompatible with your current location, to make up for the shortcoming of monsters please choose one of the two groups below. Hint. If you spend dungeon points you may buy monsters you did not chose now at any time in the future.]
[Forest option one. Grey rabbit, Grey squirrel, Red fox, raccoon, white tailed deer, wild boar, Bobcat, Red- backed salamander, Snakes, Birds, Insects. All choices have some form of mana.]
[Forest option two. Chipmunk, Mice, Badger, Hooded skunk, Moose, Elk, Black bear, Red- backed salamander, Snakes, Birds, Insects. All choices have some form of mana.]
I choose the first option and I decide I need to get my altar made so I can bring my core down and grow again. I choose the opposite side of the floor from my stairs and start building my usual table. The only thing I did differently this time was add some gems to my protective cage to reinforce my strengthening enchantment and brought myself down so I could start growing. I will work on my figurines after I get my first round of monster summoning done.
Once I was settled in I decided to start summoning insects so they can start populating the whole floor like I did once upon a time on the second floor. I pulled up my list of insects and I was very happy with my options.
I summon fifty ladybugs, they are so tiny I'm not even sure they take away from my mana when I create them, then I check out my beetle options and summon forty bark beetles, forty pine beetles, forty spruce bark beetles and forty Emerald ash borers. I summoned fifty preying mantis, and then summoned forty Wolf spiders, forty Hecklemesh spiders, forty Turret spiders and ten queen bees, each with their own group of aphids to start on their hives and finally I summoned ten queen carpenter ants. That was a lot of insects actually. I'm going to just take a moment and explore my forest and see what other goodies are growing around the floor.
