Chapter forty one

Chapter forty one

Lilith Pov

I am relieved to see that the goblins and lions have paired up to the best of their abilities. There are a lot more goblins than lions so it's not perfect. I would like to assume that only the elite goblins have been paired up with lions but that's just a pipe dream. The goblins are much too stupid for that much logic.

I summon twenty more lionesses to add to the pride so the goblins can keep getting stronger and move on to the sixth floor. I want to check on the gators and make sure they have settled well. I never did check on them after I summoned them.

I'm a little surprised to find the gators have settled pretty close to the kobolds and the kobolds are ok with it. After paying attention to them for a while I come to the conclusion that the kobolds see the gators as their pets. I'm ok with that actually.

I glance over the sewer/mine tunnels looking for my water/fire foxes well I guess now they can be called acid foxes. They are highly acidic now combined with their control over water and fire they are wonderful walking boss monsters. I couldn't be happier really. My danger level is rising rapidly. Muahaha. I can't wait to see them in action.

I have to wait for a few hours before they make a move but once they do I'm stunned. One of the kobolds is out hunting with his gator when they come across the acid fox. The kobold's eyes widened and it turned around, abandoned it's pet and ran for it's life.

The acid fox flicked a single drop of acid from it's tail like a scorpion toward the gator and before it could register what was going on, it began to dissolve. It doesn't take long for the gator to turn into a large chuck of meat. The fox looks very pleased. It suddenly occurs to me that the gators aren't pets at all they are meat shields.

It's a shame they only have a fifty percent chance of getting meat or a sword, I decide to change the ratio to seventy five percent meat and twenty five percent sword. That should even out the odds a bit.

I'm sure some kobolds do get eaten. Can they be eaten? I'm a little puzzled so I ask the system. No, they can't. They don't drop meat, just tools or the figurine I made. Interesting. This floor is a little bit rougher than I thought it would be.

I spend a little time and look for my sharkins, tehehe I thought that was a great name for the shark/goblin mix. They seem to have adjusted well. They have stayed on the edges of the tunnels trying not the catch the attention of the kobolds. They seem pretty smart. I hope they can make it on this cut-throat floor.

I glance over the labyrinth and find nothing has changed except the number of rats, cockroaches and slimes. Good enough for me. Actually I summon a eight pairs of red foxes from the fourth floor. Fingers crossed for some shadow foxes but at this point I won't be picky. A fire/rock type sounds like it could have some potential.

I move on to my desert and I am utterly astonished. The oasis is huge and extremely green but more than that the female goblin werewolf is pregnant and the male is frantically trying to build her a shelter but he's finding it impossible to do by himself.

I feel pity for the guy so I build a few teepees for them. I ignore the system prompt to make it a safe zone and wait to see how long before the male goblin werewolf works up the courage to check them out.

Apparently he has tried to enter the safe zones and failed so he's cautious. I am quite proud of these guys. They are by far my best creation. So smart and adaptive. He actually sends some of his wolves in to check it out first. I love them so much! My creation is so smart.

He sags in relief as he helps his pregnant mate to the inspected teepee before making sure the others are exactly the same. I want to summon more but I don't want to make the guy to start fighting with another male for dominance.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

After debating I summon five more female goblin werewolves and let them join the others. The male werewolf goblin is quite happy and wastes no time in pushing them down one by one claiming all five of them as his own. The pregnant female doesn't look too pleased but the male gives her a deep growl and she lowers her head in submission.

Well that was not how I expected that to go but I guess I should have, they are part goblin and have a lot of urges. I look over the desert and find it hard to find any of the monsters. I get a feel for where they are but they are buried in sand so they are hard to locate. I guess that's the real difficulty of this floor. I see a herd of camels off in the distance. I'm sure there more monsters living in the oasis than I realize.

Moving on to my ninth floor mini ocean I see my three boats moored to my makeshift boat dock near the shore waiting to be used, huts litter the ocean like tiny dots across the water. The best part is under water though. I hope my delvers stock up on the manatee drops so they can explore my coral reef. You could just sail right across the floor and be super lucky and not fight a single monster or you could be attacked by a pod of whales or orcas and die.

Luck is a huge part of dungeon diving. That and the whims of the dungeon.

I've been paying attention to my underwater foxes and they are really incredible. The fire and wind affinities mixed and they use this really cool fire whirlpool to kill their prey. I quite like it. The coral/myconid mix is pretty incredible too. They can not move once they have settled down.

But once they are attacked a few of their arms detach and drive themselves into the attacker while the main body continues to lash at it with it's other arms. I think the smaller pieces then use the dropped meat to breed and become another adult coral/myconid. It's really cool. These three successful creations have me wanting to experiment more with making my own monsters.

I still have two hundred and ninety five thousand dp left to create monsters with. I briefly wonder if I should take it easy on the spending but then I remember I will eventually get another large amount of dp when my delvers go deeper in my dungeon. I need to stay on top of the amount I have or i'll never be able to call Ani ever again.

Katherine Pov

After Ani left without saying goodbye it didn't take long for the group to put her in the back of their minds, but the shock stayed with her for a few weeks before she got over the shock of meeting a God. Some evenings before bed the girls would color in their coloring books.

Rose would ask if Ani was coming back to play again and she always answer them honestly. It was possible but it was also possible that they would never see her again. She didn't think the girls would understand even if she told them that little girl was a Goddess.

Time passed and Garm turned twelve and joined the hunting party to start leveling up. While he was proficient with the dagger, his status page indicated be was a rare elemental user and he had a healing affinity.

He could be a priest or a doctor after he left the dungeon if he worked hard at leveling up his skills. He could even work for a king or noble if he knew the right people. She made sure to work the kids extra hard to give the boy plenty of healing work.

It was a bit mean but it would benefit them all in the long run. It wouldn't be long before Heros, Lyra and Rose would turn twelve too and they would join them as well. He had been practicing with the sword she had gotten all that time ago.

After they got in to a good groove the third floor was easy except for the monsters in the water. They hadn't been brave enough to fight them after seeing the crocs and manatees fighting. The white tailed deer and bobcats weren't much a trial anymore. The deer didn't do much aside from run but the bobcats were vicious. They hid in the trees and attacked from above when their guard was down.

They had decided as a group that it was time to move out of the cabin by the stairs. Deeper in the mangroves there were more opportunities. This time she had the kids handle the entire formation on their own. She would follow behind and intervene if something dangerous happened.

Thankfully it wasn't a very long hike through the mangroves to get to the furthest cabin from the stairs. The kids didn't come across any trouble and she felt confident that it wouldn't be too much longer before they would be able to manage without her help.

The cabin deepest in the mangroves was exactly the same as the one they had just left except for the view outside the door. The water came up to the door and it was impossible to enter it without getting your feet wet.

That didn't bother any of them though. They were excited to move deeper in to the dungeon. They could see the island with the stairs down to the fourth floor and it made their blood boil. They had only been on this floor for a little under two years or so though so it wasn't time yet. She hadn't collected all of her figurines.
