Lilith Pov
It was so much fun to watch the group fight against the bears. They are a lot more coordinated than I thought they would be. It was even more surprising when they we're able to cut off two of the paws before the bears died. I am very jealous as I watch them eat the bear meat. It looks amazing.
I start to feel a twinge of hunger even though it's not a real possibilty so I go check on my goblin flower to distract myself. I'm a little surprised to find there's a few more sprouts popping up around the tunnel. The unexpected part is that these ones look a little smaller than the first one did.
I don't watch for long before I get bored so I check on the kobolds again. The fire kobolds have been accepted by the group and don't seem to be angling for leaders of the tribe anymore. I wonder how long it will last before they start fighting again.
Satisfied by what i'm seeing I decide to get back to work on my tenth floor. I haven't summoned a single monster on this floor yet. I pull up the list again and I realize that it's not like the other floors i've had in the past.
It doesn't have a large amount of monsters like my other floors. Lava beetle, Firefly, Lava spirit, Volcanic mermaid, Lava fox, Lava bear, Lava eagle, Lava wolf, Giant lava spider, Lava drake(youth) they do seem a lot more dangerous though.
I'll start with summoning five hundred lava beetles, they are the size of a hamster and five hundred fireflies, they are the size of dragonflies. I summon a single Lava spirit to check it out. It looks like a bright red pile of floating rocks, the same size as a small cat. Every time I try to focus on it, the rocks that form it's body keep shifting. I'm not sure how to make a figurine of that.
I summon a hundred more lava spirits and watch as they begin to group together to form a massive lava spirit and begin to glide across the floor towards the volcano. I think it's still active and ready to go, they slide into the volcano and some lava dribbles over the edge and down the sides.
I made the right choice by choosing the lava monsters. They are so cool. I'm kind of curious to see what happens to a normal monster on this floor. I summon twenty pairs of elk to my tenth floor so I can see what they become before I summon any predators to this floor.
I hope they aren't attacked by the lava beetles or fireflies. I'm tempted to fast forward time a little bit, but I hold back the urge by telling myself it's not worth the mana. I'm tempted to summon more monsters, but I decide to peak in on the third floor to see if everyone is up for the day yet instead.
They are just starting to stir in the cabins so I call it a night and wait for the group to set off to hunt monsters again. They come across some deer and snakes but it only takes a moment for the group to cut them down.
It seems like they only have trouble with the aquatic monsters on this floor. I'm sure they will figure it out and move on soon enough. I'm not sure how long they have spent on this floor so far, but I don't think it's as long as the second floor yet.
They spent the entire day hunting anything that crossed their path. Nothing but the manatees, dugongs and dolphins were safe from their rampage. I looked over my populations, nothing but the bears have a lower population than normal at the moment. They bounce back quickly though so i'm not worried.
I wonder if I should take a moment to check on my first floor. It has been about five years since I last looked it over. All that was left were the ice polar bears and the black bears I had summoned.
It's hard to hold back the urge once it comes up. A quick peak can't hurt right? I focus on my first floor and my non existant jaw drops to the floor when I see how much has changed. There's a huge snow cave by my altar at the end of the floor.
I'm pretty sure the black bears have adjusted to the icy floor. The cave looks extremely stable so I would have to assume it's layered, I wish I had watched them make it. I focus on the bears and i'm a little shocked to find some of them have scales on their faces and other random places.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Where did they come from? I ask the system what happened to my bears. It explains that the last victim of the dungeon had slaughtered and eaten a large quantity of dragon hearts in an effort to strengthen his body.
When the black bear ripped off his arm and ate it, it permanently changed his make up and became a low level dragon bear. It barely has one percent pure dragon blood so the change is limited to the scales, strength and extreme aggression. That's still really cool though.
The polar ice bears are just as big as I remember. I glance over the wolves and find the system actually kept the snowy wolves on this floor. The sand wolves are only a memory on this floor now. The system did keep the ice/wind fox type that I created though so that gives me comfort. The giant snowy rats are still around too.
The owls and voles are the same as ever. I'm glad my first floor is more resilliant than I thought it was. I begin to wonder if I should make some new monsters with the first floor in mind. They have a lot of potential. I pull up my monster game and put the horned ice hare in one box and then I put the snowy owl in the other.
It's the standard cost of two thousand dp. I click accept and wait for the result. It's actually really cute and a little heroic looking. It kept the horn and rabbit type body but it now has sharp claws and wings. It looks like a trouble maker. I save the pattern and summon twenty pairs of them to the first floor.
Next I decide to mix the wind/ice type fox with the snowy owl too. It sounds amazing. I add them both to the boxes and the price ends up being three thousand dp. It's not expensive. I click accept and wait to see what it looks like. Ok so. The fox genes are strong. They don't have the sharp dagger claws like the rabbits do but they have wings so I call that a win. I save the pattern and summon thirty pairs of them.
I don't want to over populate my first floor so I decide to stop making monsters for this floor. But i've come up with so many ideas now that i'll have to make another frozen tundra floor and make it a true nightmare floor. I can't wait. So I guess it's time to get back to work.
I turn back to my tenth floor and I try to imagine what kind of building would go well on this floor. I need to have an enclosed area on this floor. I don't want to keep making my altar and figurines every time the volcano blows.
Better yet I decide to make an elevated island that I can make my altar on. I'll purposely surround myself with a moat of lava muahahaha. Cough cough. I don't think anyone would be able to cross it alive though so i'll scratch the moat idea. I almost felt like Fiona from Shrek there for a second.
Thinking of Shrek I decide to use some lava rock and make a castle to house my altar and maybe some rooms for delvers to sleep. But if I do that I should just have the system make it. It's always better than anything I can make.
I check out how much dp I have before I start laughing to myself. I still have three hundred and ninety thousand dp left after all my frivolous spending and creating. I feel like i'm never going to make a dent in this much dp.
I have a random idea so I check with the system before I make any big decisions. I can make my altar castle a safe zone, and not have to worry about lava. I won't be allowed to have any guards though. That makes sense. I mull it over for a bit and decide it's ok.
I don't need any protection I just don't want to have to rebuild it everytime the volcano explodes. I ask the system to build me a castle with six bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, a huge kitchen, a great hall and a yard with all the fruit trees from this floor.
[The system registers the desire of the dungeon core for a fully constructed castle. It will cost you one hundred thousand dungeon points and have four towers with defensible walls. A fruit garden and a well. Do you accept?]
I mull it over for a while. That's a third of the dp I have after all. Hmmm. It's such a tough decision. It sounds so cool though. I guess i'll go ahead and do it. I click accept and marvel as my castle pops into being and slams down a few miles away from the volcano. I love watching that happen. It will never cease to amaze me.
I ask the system how it does that so quickly everytime. I feel like the systems stares at me like i'm stupid. It then tells me that it has hundreds of thousands of patterns saved for everything a dungeon could ever need.
Anything to satisfy the customer.
Well at least that makes sense to me. I bring myself to my castle so I can settle down and not just be free floating. I guess I should get back to work but first, I've never paid attention to how long it takes a monster to change after being introduced to my floor. To my knowledge it's only been a few days since I summoned the herd of elk. I wonder how much they have changed.
It doesn't take long to find the elk, they are the largest monsters on this floor so far. They have changed a little already. Well I guess it's a lot considering they weren't on fire at all before. They don't seem bothered by it at all though so I guess they are fine.
I make sure there's more than enough food throughout the floor to keep them satisfied. Elk will even eat bark and fruit flowers not just grass, so they have a lot to choose from. I'm already really happy with how this floor is turning out.
