Chapter thirty nine

Lilith Pov

{Niamh} "Hello little girl. We're here to visit. Ani is very excited."

{Annika} "This is going to be the best day ever!"

Her smile is just like Kat's, it's intoxicating; it's so beautiful. I don't know if they can hear me but I answer none the less.

{Lilith} "I'm so happy you could come to hang out in my dungeon for a little bit. My delvers have made it down to the third floor if you would like to make your way there. I'm on the ninth floor currently at the bottom of my mini ocean. You are also welcome to join me here if you want."

Ani doesn't hesitate to start walking across the floor, making it her mission to touch every monster she comes across. She's my kind of gal. She loves my foxes. They are my favorite too. What can I say, that tail is irresistible.

My monsters give a wide berth to the Goddess following behind Ani though. None of them were brave enough to get close. She gave off an aura of power and intimidation. They quickly reached the stairs and continued traveling deeper into my dungeon. Ani loved the second floor, the look on her face said it all. She continued petting all the monsters while she gathered a bouquet a flowers as she ran around.

She gave the flowers to her mom and continued on her merry way to the stairs to the third floor. That was really cute. I can't help but be excited for Ani and Kat to meet. I sure hope they get along. It doesn't take long before they reach the stairs to the third floor.

This is the moment of truth! Kat and the group had recently returned from hunting to the cabin by the stairs.

{Lilith} "They are all in that cabin. Knock on the door Ani. It's an unexpected visit to them but Kat should calm down when you tell her you're a friend of mine. She a good kid. I hope you have fun."

{Annika} "Ok! Can I tell them about you if they ask? I don't want to share private information."

{Lilith} "Yeah it's fine but only if they ask. I don't want to scare them off."

The moment Ani knocked on the door of the cabin my patron Goddess disappeared from the third floor, and appeared right next to me on the ninth floor. If I still had a heart it would have stopped from the fright. That was so unexpected.

Looking at her closely she and Ani are almost twins. It's kind of crazy actually. Is Ani just a clone? I giggle at my silly thought and focus on my patron Goddess.

{Lilith} "Thank you for bringing Ani, I hope she has a great time. I don't really have anything offer guests so sorry about that."

{Niamh} "You're welcome. She did insist on coming here anyway. I don't have any needs so you're fine. I actually came to talk to you, after talking to you I began to think about my childhood in comparison to Ani's and I remembered my grandfather used to tell me bedtime stories. I had never done that for her so I started going through all the stories he used to tell me with her and there were a few I thought you would enjoy as well. Would you like to hear them?"

{Lilith} "Um... Sure."

This is really random but I guess it could have a point.

{Niamh} "Ok. Great. A long, long time ago a man was lost in the forest so he decided to climb to the top of the tallest tree to find his way home. It took him a couple of hours and he almost fell to his death a couple of times but he persevered through to the top.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

When he finally reached the top he realized he had climbed up to the sky and he was so close to the moon that he could see the beauty of the Moon Goddess. He fell madly in love with her and pledged to always love her. The Moon Goddess was so flattered that she shined bright enough to lead the lost man home.

After that night every time the moon became full he would climb to the top of the tree to gaze upon the Goddess and whispers sweet nothings about his love to her. The Goddess was smitten but sadden by the fact that the two would always be separated.

One night after the man finished spending the night with her he was assaulted by bandits on his way home and the Moon Goddess watched on in horror as her sweet lover was dying after the bandits left him and took all his meager possessions.

She started sobbing and before she knew it her tears had overflowed from the moon and began to fall on to her lover's body. In her grief she had done the unthinkable and broken apart a piece of her divinity from her very soul and given it to her lover.

She watched on in shock as his body began to transform and become more animalistic. He grew fur and fangs and began to walk on four limbs. Her lover was transformed into the first werewolf. His poor soul was unable to handle the gift given by his beloved and now he was cursed to be a beast. He didn't hold a grudge though, he was happy to be alive.

He hunted animals in the forest to satisfy his hunger, but once the sun started rising his body started turning back into a human. He was the same but different. His love for the Moon Goddess was eternal but now he had the urge to make sure to pass on this legacy from the Moon Goddess.

In a way they would be considered her children too. They say when he died the Moon Goddess took back her missing divinity along with his soul so they would never be separated again.

And that is the story of how the werewolves came to be."

Well that was a little surprising. In a certain way that was a beautiful love story but at the same time did he really get a piece of her divinity and turn around and sleep with other women? That's kind of awful.

{Niamh} "On to the next one, I think you will like this one.

A long, long time ago, before time was even a concept, the big bang exploded and the countless universes were formed at that very moment, but it wasn't just the universes that were created. Countless souls were also created, they started making subconscious decisions. The larger souls took charge of some of the universes, becoming Gods. Other souls descended onto newly created planets and started forming their bodies, some chose to become humans, animals, mythical creatures, dwarves or elves.

Countless races were born on that day. Even the system came to be on that day, it took control over a whole universe and took advantage of the lack of intelligence of the races and added a brand to their souls so it would gain power from all those that used the system. Empowering itself and also it's users.

Some souls were filled with endless curiosity so they decided to explore the universes and stayed formless souls until they started to adapt to their unique situation and became wandering stars or comets. After witnessing all of this there were still a lot of souls that were undecided about which universe they should choose.

One of the larger souls made a bold decision and ripped itself into tiny pieces to the horror of the other souls around it and scattered in all directions. It could not decide therefore it would not choose. It would visit them all. The other souls after watching this became curious and a couple of souls ripped themselves into large pieces and followed the example and sent them off to different universes.

Some say that when one of the torn soul fragment's body dies it searches the vast universes for it's other pieces to become whole again and to tell the soul fragments that have reunited all about the different experiences they have enjoyed.

Maybe your soul is one of those old souls that tore itself apart and is now searching for the pieces. Honestly I don't even know if this story is true. But I thought you would enjoy it."

My mind is on the verge of exploding right now. That's a bedtime story for a God? I don't know if that's terrifying or awesome. Where is the moral of the story? Don't cut your soul in to pieces?! I thought it was painful to be stabbed, but tearing your soul into pieces? That sounds like hell. No thank you. I did enjoy the story though.

{Lilith} "Wow, those were great stories. Thank you so much for sharing them with me. I would like to imagine that those are true stories. They are so amazing."

{Niamh} "Who knows, they could be true. I am not old enough to know the truth. I do like to imagine they are real too though. I do love the monsters you have made recently. Nothing too original but you have potential. Keep up the good work. Until next time."

She left without another word but I wasn't too upset. I'll ask questions about the system being created during the big bang next time we talk. Right now is my chance to talk with Kat! I don't know if i'll ever get this chance again.
