I wanted to make an igloo as my safe zone on the first floor but I didn't want to trouble myself with a different type of safe zone for every floor so I chose to make a cabin big enough for six people. It had a wood burning stove for simple cooking and three sets of bunkbeds.
And as much I hated it, I made a simple wooden toilet that was basically just a hole in the ground. I made two on the first floor. The system was very helpful and once I finished building both cabins it automatically gave me the option to make them a safe zone.
Moving on to the second floor I cleared a few areas of flowers and created three cabins exactly the same as the first floor. I decided to put one close to one of the beehive tree with the ring in it and it was actually included in the safe zone and it ejected the honey badgers from the area but left the bees. I guess they aren't considered dangerous.
I felt pity for them so I summon another three queen bees and sent them off to a tree to create a new hive.
On my third floor I made a cabin right by the stairs. It's a wonderful area to relax and get some fishing done. I made two more cabins throughout the mangrove forest in the dry areas after I cleared some of the dense trees and the final cabin I made on my old island where my stairs are. It's a great place to sleep after conquering the mangroves.
The fourth floor was the perfect setting for my log cabins and I was so excited to set up six throughout the floor. I tried to scatter them at equal distances but I'm not too worried about it being perfect.
I wasn't sure how make my cabins fit in my mining tunnels but I had to do something. I wonder if I can turn my dead ends in to safe zones in the mine. It sounds troublesome but I don't know what else to do.
I've been over thinking this and I've come to the conclusion to scatter tents throughout the mine. The system considers them safe zones and monsters can't enter or destroy them. They aren't as nice as my cabins but they will allow people to sleep without worries. Once I was finished making all my safe zones I heard an unexpected ding so I checked my notifications.
[Congratulations on making safe zones on all of your floors. Your patron Goddess Niamh is pleased with your hard work and deems you ready for delvers. Please kill all of the intruders or be destroyed by them. Good luck.]
[The Goddess is looking for the perfect group of delvers for the job. This could take some time. Please be patient while she teleports them to your location after they agree to be the first to delve into an undiscovered dungeon.]
Well that's scary and exciting at the same time. I don't want to be destroyed. I don't think it's going to happen but I'd rather be prepared so I made the four soul gems I had left to consume and prepared myself for a world of pain. I don't want to do them one at a time because I'm not sure how much time I have before I have my first visitors so I press all four up to my core at the same time and black out immediately.
When I came to this time I had trouble remembering who I was and what I was doing. It was very confusing but it didn't take long before it all came back to me. I am Lilith and I'm a dungeon core waiting for my first delvers to come so I can keep expanding. Everything seemed much clearer now. My thoughts weren't so slow and muddled anymore.
Before I forget I need to summon some more monsters for my fourth floor, I ran out of mana before I could purchase and summon some moose and hooded skunks. The moose cost me two hundred dp and dropped meat and daggers with horn grips and pelts. And the skunks cost one hundred dp and dropped a pelt and a scent gland.
Interesting enough the pelt doesn't smell like skunk and it's shockingly beautiful. I also summon ten skunks to the fifth floor mine.
I am so ready to start on my sixth floor. I have so many monsters from other floors that I'll be able to use. I can't wait to see what new monsters I'll get too.
Interlude
On a different planet but in the same universe.
Five young men have been traveling towards the border of the empire for over two years now, they are about there and are starting to get testy from the pressure and the non stop traveling. They only stop long enough to make some money by robbing and killing merchants on the way.
They have just finished taking down a merchant caravan and have decided to stop for the night to get drunk and let off some of the steam before they start crossing the border mountain. It will be the hardest part but once they do it someone will be waiting for them with a carriage and fake papers so they can travel easier. They were excited just thinking of riding in a carriage.
They holed up in a clearing in the woods far away from the main road. They ate what little food they had and prepared to settle down for the night to get drunk when they all heard a ding and looked around at each other curiously. One of the men pulled up his notification panel and gasped and told the others to pull up their notifications.
[Congratulations! You have been selected to explore an undiscovered dungeon for riches and glory. If you accept you will immediately be teleported away to the dungeon. Will you accept?]
All five men exploded with laughter. They felt as though their luck was finally turning around. They gathered all their stuff up didn't stop to think about the fact that they had never heard about anything like this ever happening before and then they all clicked yes on the panel and they all disappeared in a flash of light.
Back in the dungeon.
Lilith was also notified that people were on the way.
[Congratulations. The Goddess Niamh has found a group of five to come to your dungeon. Remember you must kill them all or you will be destroyed. Good luck.]

Ok. Deep breaths. I send out a thought to all my first and second floor monsters that we're about to have guests. Kill them. We can not let them get to the bottom of the dungeon, no matter the cost.
My monsters get ready for our visitors. I can feel excitement in the air. They're ready to protect their home. It's time to teach my monsters a simple strategy to kill our guests without letting them get away. Not that they could actually leave the island even if they made it out of the dungeon. But why risk it. I'm pretty sure we got this but it's not bad to be over prepared.
I am so nervous right now. My guests should be here any minute. Thankfully the snow is coming down pretty hard right now both in and out of my dungeon. It should help cover all my monsters tracks. My wolves and foxes are ready to attack. The owls are high up in the trees ready to tell them where the enemies are.
I still think it would be over kill to summon a polar bear on the first floor so I am only going to allow them on the first two floors. That's it. The honey badgers should be more than capable of killing them if they make it past my first floor. I don't plan to give them any time to breathe. I'm going to send all my monsters at them at the first sign of trouble. Wave tactics are for cute girls and pussies.
I feel something weird at my front entrance. Oh my god. They just appeared out of nowhere. That was really cool actually. Sorry guys. Cool or not today you die. They don't hesitate to come in to my dungeon. I don't think they are prepared for cold weather.
The adrenaline pumping through their blood is probably helping them fend off some of the cold. They don't even bother to look behind themselves once but I'm thankful for that because while my foxes blend in with my tundra ecosystem they can still be seen.
Thankfully they have no problem getting behind the men cutting off their path of retreat. The owls then let the wolves know everyone is in place and the wolves make their move.
The pack of twenty wolves don't even try to sneak up to them. They growl menacingly at the five intruders. The five don't panic at all and seem used to handling large groups of monsters. They pull out knives and swords and one pulls out a wand.
I'm really intrigued to see how they fight but I'd rather not sacrifice any of my monsters just for curiosity sake. Now that they are focused on the wolves, the foxes are in position to strike them from behind with their ice bullets. They don't hesitate to aim for the legs and torso. They don't want them to die right away. My monsters are cruel. Three of the five go down like a sack of potatoes after being hit in the back of the knee with an ice bullet. The wolves don't hesitate at all and each man is grabbed and dragged away screaming as they are torn limb from limb.
The two remaining men who managed to stay standing are pale and I can tell they want to turn around and run out of my dungeon but my foxes have already sealed the way out. They can only fight if they want their freedom, well they can try but they won't succeed.
The foxes don't hesitate and they throw themselves at the last two men and start tearing chunks out of their legs. The dungeon is full of the tormented screams of the victims who thought they were going to destroy me.
I can't help but be very satisfied with my first floor. Now that I know they can handle it maybe I will do waves next time so I can see our guests fight. I heard a ding and I immediately pulled up my notifications.
[Congratulations! You have killed the first five people to find you. You have completed the task given to you by your Patron Goddess Niamh. You may now have ten floors. You will receive five hundred dungeon points per person killed.]
[Congratulations! Your Patron Goddess Niamh is very impressed with the way you handled that and has a gift for you.]
[Congratulations! You now have the spacial affinity. You can now make your floors much larger than they actually are and you can also make spatial rings and bags.]
I have the best Patron Goddess ever! I can't wait to continue making my floors but first things first. I absorbed the bodies of the five men, I needed to go through the loot they had on them. I finally have some currency.
They brought me copper coins, silver coins and gold coins. They even gave me weapon patterns. It's so nice to finally have some visitors. I could make their clothes but I didn't see the point. The only stuff that was mildly interesting was the wand and the money. I add copper coins to all my loot drops on floor one through five and I'll add silver on the sixth.
Thankfully I only lost two foxes and a wolf in the struggle. The last two had put up a decent fight when it was all said and done. To me it really was all a blur. I don't feel the need to summon any monsters on the first floor. It's time to get to work on my sixth floor. I bring my attention back down to the fifth and start digging the tunnel to my sixth floor.
Now that I have a spacial affinity I don't have to worry about my sixth floor not fitting side by side with the fifth. I dig until I hear the ding and then I start digging a large room. I didn't want to push my luck so I decided to expand it with my affinity. I had to wait for my mana to fill back up but it didn't take long now that I'm the size of a core from a tenth floor instead of fifth thanks to my soul gems.
I decided to make the sixth floor six miles in width and length so it would fit everything I wanted. It took a lot of mana to expand the room with my spatial affinity but it was worth it because I didn't have to dig as much anymore.
I'm going to take advantage of the new perk I just got and I'm going to mix two ecosystems for my sixth floor.
At first I was just going to do the sewers but now that I can combine them I'm going to mix it with the mine. When you mix water and mines together you get acidic water and I'm hoping it will slow down my delvers when they come across it. Plus it should eliminate that foul odor of sewage and replace it with a different less awful smell.
The smell of sulfer. Muahaha it smells like rotten eggs but not sewage. I pull up my notifications and see how much dp I've gotten from finishing my floor and then i'll get the system to combine the two ecosystems for me.
[Congratulations on finishing your fifth floor. One thousand dungeon points as a reward. Please choose the ecosystem for your next floor and also your next starter monster. Monsters will be based off ecosystem.]
[Grassland, wetlands, desert, forest, coral reef, tundra, terrestrial, savanna, rainforest, freshwater, lake, taiga boreal, mangrove, swamp, volcanic, mountain.]
[System registers the desire of the core to mix Mining tunnel ecosystem and Sewer tunnel ecosystem.]
[Congratulations on choosing your sixth ecosystem. This ecosystem is incompatible with your current location, but it's what you chose to do this time so below are your available monsters. Hint. Any monster summoned from another floor will adapt in different ways due to the influence of the new ecosystem.]
[Giant cockroach, kobolds, water slime, giant leeches, giant slugs, sewer crabs, Illusion flower, Alligator lizards, Giant water monitors]
I watched as tunnels began to form in my giant empty space, it's similar to my fifth floor but better because the system designed it. Water started flowing throughout the entire sixth floor and then sewer grates began to appear at intervals.
Light seemed to come in from the grates at the top of the tunnels. It was weird. I guess it made sense for sewers in a dungeon. Then the walls started to change to match a mine and the water started turning orange. It was an interesting sight to behold.
The water wasn't running very fast but it was deep enough to hold fish from my third floor and I can imagine after a while the floor will become slippery and it will become tough to fight enemies here.
I asked the system to connect the fifth and sixth floors so the goblins and kobolds could stick together should an invader make it down this far. I did the same to the sixth floor as I did to the fifth and demolished the useless center tunnels and made brick huts for the kobolds.
