Chapter 7

On Sunday morning, Mr. Sarakana reached into the pantry to grab a box of cereal for breakfast. He then went to the refrigerator to get a carton of milk as well. Once he had gotten both items he placed them down on the table and turned to get a bowl from the cabinet. When he returned to the table with the bowl, the cereal and milk had gone missing. He looked both surprised and confused, he scanned the table frantically.

"Am I going insane? I know I put them here."

"Sorry, I thought you were done with them."

He turned to the sound of the voice. It was, of course, Saneko, using telekinesis to pour the cereal and milk into a bowl for herself.

"Geez Saneko. I thought I was going crazy. Oh, and you were in your room all day yesterday. What was up with that?"

Saneko thought to herself for a moment, trying to remember yesterday's events. She remembered watching Silent Road, and then talking to Nakialia. She had actually talked to her for many hours about different things, and it was mainly Saneko doing the talking unsurprisingly.

"Eh. Just talking to N."

"Oh yeah. I forgot you reunited with your imaginary friend."

Saneko simply rolled her eyes, not bothering to argue about it. When she had finished pouring her cereal, she caused the box of cereal and carton of milk to float back over to her dad. He grabbed it and started pouring his own cereal.

"Saneko, you should use your hands to make food."

"Never have, never will."

"Your powers have spoiled you."

"I have them. Might as well use them."

As he poured his cereal, he thought about how Saneko was too reliant on her powers, but he knew that at this point, there was no way to stop her. Besides, most people on Earth were reliant on powers anyway, so it didn't matter too much. He decided that he might as well take advantage of it to help him build a shed, as he had been meaning to build one for a while to protect some of the tools that stayed outside.

"Well Saneko, since you use your powers for everything anyway, I was wondering..."

"I already see your intentions. I'm not helping you build a shed."

"Come on. I gave you a banana smoothie a few days ago."

"Don't guilt trip me now."

"When it rains, all of your mom's gardening tools get wet and rusty, and you know how much she loves that flower garden in the backyard."

"Just put them in the garage."

"That's counterproductive. Why walk from place-to-place when we can have a shed right there?"

Saneko grumbled in an irritated manner. She started eating her cereal while looking away, not wanting to talk about it anymore. She then felt her mom's hand rub her head between her horns.

"Come on please!"

"When did you get here?"

"I was overhearing everything. I would really really really like a shed there please."

Saneko slammed her spoon on the table and stood up angrily. She wasn't expecting to be hassled with this early in the morning, but it was her own fault for being so over-reliant on her powers. Her parents looked up at her with looks of anticipation on their faces.

"Fine I'll build the stupid shed."

"YAY!"

"Where are the dumb materials?"

Mr. Sarakana laughed nervously and scratched the back of his head. He had all of the nails and screws, but when it came to the materials, he had another idea. Upon seeing his intentions with Purple Vision, Saneko grew even more frustrated.

Once they had finished eating, the three of them walked outside outside to the backyard. Mr. Sarakana patted Saneko on the back. There were no materials to work with, but he knew very well that Saneko had other ways to do this.

"Don't touch me."

Mr. Sarakana chuckled to himself as he removed his hand from her back. Saneko closed her eyes, and when she reopened them, they had turned orange. With Color Spectrum, the color orange had a very unique ability. Essentially, it would allow Saneko to create any material she wanted in the shape of whatever direction her eyes moved in. So if she moved her eyes to make the shape of a triangle, a triangle made of whatever material she chose would manifest into reality. She did so a few times, and metal rectangles, squares, and triangles manifested on the ground. Her parents clapped as she did this.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

"Where are the screws?"

Saneko's voice had no enthusiasm in it. She'd rather be in her room watching shows like, "The Tamer Tamed a Lvl 1,000 Boss". Mr. Sarakana handed Saneko a small plastic box that contained many nails and screws in it.

Saneko, like usual, used telekinesis to open the box, causing all of the screws needed to float up. She also caused every material she had created to do the same. With her powers, the shed essentially assembled itself within seconds. Her parents stared with big smiles on their faces as the shed was being constructed. Saneko couldn't deny that seeing this shed essentially create itself all thanks to her was pretty cool. A small smile began to appear on her lips as she started to think about what she was doing.

"You know, this is pretty awesome. I guess this is just another thing the almighty Demon Babe can accomplish without breaking a sweat."

Saneko's confidence was radiating off of her and the shed was finally fully assembled. Her eyes returned to their normal purple color, and her mom gave her a tight hug, causing Saneko to immediately return to her aggravated state.

"THANK YOU!"

"Let go of me."

Mr. Sarakana walked up to the shed and opened the door, looking inside. The shed was masterfully constructed without a single flaw.

"Wow. You did really good Saneko. I will admit, your powers are something else."

Saneko pushed her mom away who was still trying to hug her.

"Yeah. All in a day's work."

Saneko then turned around and reentered the house as her parents started putting the tools in the shed. She went to her bedroom and jumped on the bed. She grabbed a pillow and excitedly buried her face in it while kicking her legs like a little girl.

"Hehehe. That was pretty amazing I will admit. I love my powers so much! EEEEEH!"

As Saneko felt more and more proud of herself, she decided that she earned herself a banana smoothie. She jumped out of her bed and grabbed a few dollars from her desk. She opened the door and walked out of the house, skipping happily over to the nearby ice cream shop. However, as she walked down the street, something caught her attention. She saw two kids, one short and one tall. The taller one was holding a basket ball over the head of the shorter one.

"Try and reach for it."

"Just give it back."

Saneko realized that this was what stereotypical bullying looked like, and as Demon Babe, who else was there to stop it but her and her alone. She teleported back to her bedroom and started putting on her school uniform.

"Can't save someone looking like this. What kind of hero would I be?"

Once she had put on the uniform, she immediately teleported back to where the kids were. She walked behind the taller one and tapped his shoulder.

"Huh?"

The kid looked behind himself to see her standing there. He looked up at her and narrowed his eyes. Noticing her horns, he let out a scoff.

"Who the hell are you? Some sort of demon girl or something?"

"Demon Babe to be precise."

Saneko reached for the ball to give it back to the shorter kid, but the bully backed away, holding the ball tightly.

"No way. You're not getting this ball!"

He started running off, and the shorter kid looked devastated.

"No! Not my ball! It was the only one I had!"

With her usual smirk, Saneko reached out her hand and the bully started slowing down, and eventually, he was only running in place. He looked down to see that his legs were indeed moving, but he wasn't going anywhere.

"What? What's going on? Why can't I move?"

Saneko started walking up to him, the sound of her dress shoes clicking against the concrete in a way that only made her gush over herself even more. When she made it over to the bully, he gulped in fear and Saneko put her hand out.

"Return the ball, now."

She tried to make her voice as menacing as possible.

"W...who the hell are y...you? How did you cultivate a power like this?"

"I already said it didn't I? I'm Demon Babe. I don't need to cultivate anything to be stronger than everyone."

She took the ball from his hand and ceased her control over his body, causing him to fall to the ground.

"If you ever do this again, I'll know, because I'll be there. I am everywhere and I always have been. From the beginning of time to the end of time, everlasting to everlasting. I will always be there. Next time, I won't be so nice."

Saneko's statement was meant to be overly hyperbolic. She only said it because she was deluded enough to think it sounded awesome and heroic, but it actually held much more truth than she even knew. Her existence was undoubtedly an anomaly in this world.

The bully nodded vigorously and began to run away, tripping over himself a bit as he did. Saneko watched him run off into the distance and she felt so much pride washing over herself. In her mind, she didn't care that it was just a kid, she felt like a true hero.

"I did it! Although, I didn't get to say my brand new catchphrase. What a waste."

When she turned around, she saw the other boy staring at her with amazement in his eyes. His mouth was wide open as he couldn't believe what he had just witnessed. Trying to play it off cool, Saneko tossed the ball back to him, but not realizing her own strength, she sent it to orbit. The boy looked up to see the ball disappear into the sky. Saneko had a look of dismay on her face, not meaning to have done that, but she couldn't let the boy know that. She shook her head and tried to play it off.

"Haha! That ball was far too cheap. I will buy you a much better one!"

"AMAZING!"

Hearing the boy's words, Saneko stuck her nose in the air as she put her hands on her hips. The boy got on his knees and bowed down.

"CAN I BE YOUR FOLLOWER?"

Saneko's eyes widened in disbelief. Never once did she expect to actually have a follower. She felt an unbelievable amount of happiness course through her veins at that moment. Seeing someone bow before her made her feel so superior. She couldn't show her excitement though.

"Ah little one. Wise choice. Only the followers of Demon Babe will survive the trials and tribulations of this world."

The boy looked up at her and stood back up, hopping up and down excitedly.

"Demon Babe? That sounds like a hero name. Are you one of the great heroes that protect our world?"

Being compared to one of the heroes from the Hero Foundation was enough to make Saneko internally scream from the joy she felt. This was the happiest day of her life.

"I am a vigilante who's power transcends all of the Hero Foundation. Now, my disciple, stand up and I will return to you in due time with a new ball."

Saneko teleported away, hoping that her disappearance was as cryptic as she thought it was. The boy was left there in shock, staring at where Saneko once was motionlessly.

Saneko reappeared behind the ice cream shop she was going to. Her heart was beating rapidly from the rush of adrenaline. Even if it was just a kid, she didn't care. Having a follower of any kind was a dream come true for her. She started walking to the front of the ice cream shop and thought about the good deed she did. She never actually returned the ball, and she did it purely for adulation, but in her mind it was a good deed.

"I think I've earned myself two banana smoothies."
