It was a peaceful day, the sun shining brightly in a cloudless sky as people went about their daily routines. It was pretty much the same as it always was when there were no monsters attacking.
That being said, amidst the crowd was a man walking down the street with one hand in his pocket and the other swinging freely. His name was Ezra. He had an air of superiority around him. As he walked, his eyes darted from person to person, a knowing smirk grew on his face.
"Insignificant gnats. All of them."
To the casual observer, he might have appeared to be just another arrogant nobody, but Ezra had many secrets up his sleeve. He had the ability to search through every possible timeline to find one in which he emerged victorious against any enemy. Granted, he didn't actually use this ability, but just knowing he had it caused him to grow very arrogant. After all, with infinite universes at his disposal, there was always at least one where he triumphed, no matter the odds.
As he sauntered down the street, Ezra's mind wandered to all the people he had encountered throughout his life. For each of them, he had seen a universe where he had ended their existence. He didn't have to look for a universe in which he won, but doing so gave him a sense of pride. His power allowed him to bring any of these alternate realities into being, ensuring that he would always come out on top.
Eyeing a group of teenagers laughing near a coffee shop, Ezra scoffed while giving them a side-eye.
"Pathetic. If only they knew what I could do to them."
It was very clear Ezra didn't get much attention growing up.
He continued walking down the street, thinking to himself about his own powers, something he did every day.
"There isn't a single person on this planet who could stand against me. I am invincible, unstoppable, immortal, the greatest... umm... and... cool. I ran out of words to use but you get the idea."
As Ezra reveled in his self-proclaimed greatness, a memory suddenly intruded upon his thoughts. He grew angry the instant he thought about it. He recalled a news segment from a while back. It had featured a young woman who had single-handedly defeated a colossal monster that had been terrorizing a city. Of course, this was none other than our main character, who suffers from a similar amount of arrogance.
The recollection sent a surge of anger through Ezra's body. His fists clenched involuntarily, his knuckles turning white with the force of his grip. The very idea that someone else could possess such power was like a gunshot to his ego.
"How dare she? Who does this girl think she is, flaunting her abilities like that?"
Consumed by his rage, and his ignorance to his own hypocrisy, Ezra closed his eyes, focusing all of his mental energy on unlocking the full potential of his brain. His power didn't just allow him to see alternate universes; when he truly concentrated, he could pinpoint the location of any individual, anywhere in the timeline. He rarely used this ability because he never really needed it, but just the thought of someone else using their powers to gain recognition caused him great distress.
As Ezra stood motionless on the busy sidewalk, a triumphant and maniacal laugh escaped Ezra's lips.
"Mongolia. Of course she'd be hiding in such a remote location. There's no escaping me little girl."

Without a moment's hesitation, Ezra set off on foot. The distance didn't matter to him; his determination and anger fueled every step.
Meanwhile, Saneko sat next to the shaman with her legs crossed.
"You see dude, I think it's the sugar mixed with a light amount of cinnamon that makes banana smoothies so great."
"You think? I simply enjoy their taste. I haven't given the ingredients much thought."
"AND YOU CALL YOURSELF A SHAMAN?"
Nakialia manifested herself next to them.
"Sup N."
"Hey Neko-neko."
Saneko immediately stood up and grabbed Nakialia by the throat.
"WHO THE HELL SAID THAT NICKNAME TO YOU?"
"ACK! STOP I'M SORRY!"
Saneko sighed and let Nakialia go.
"Ugh whatever. Anyway, what brings you here?"
"Well, it's a long story, but some guy is trying to-"
Saneko then immediately cut her off.
"Yeah yeah, I know. Someone is trying to claim that 'Reincarnated As My Own Sister' isn't peak fiction. I already saw that video, but the dude's arguments were so weak. He doesn't even go into detail about how each member of the main character's harem represents one of the seven sins."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
The shaman sighed and closed his eyes, trying to tune out Saneko and Nakialia's bickering.
Saneko turned back to Nakialia and waved her off.
"Listen N. I don't need you to tell me stuff I already know."
"But it's not about that. This is very serious!"
Saneko shrugged and completely scuffed her off. She turned back to the shaman and began speaking to him again.
"Anyway. Did I ever tell you about the time I added a dash of Greek yogurt to a banana smoothie?"
The shaman, despite trying to play it cool, opened one of his eyes to focus on Saneko.
"You have my attention."
Nakialia let out a frustrated gasp.
"No one ever listens to me."
As Ezra continued his journey, the soles of his shoes had completely torn off, but this didn't stop him. He was fully determined to take down a girl he didn't even know the name of simply because she showed off her powers once.
"Almost there.... ALMOST THERE!"
Just then, Ezra saw a mountain, and up on the mountain he saw two figures in the distance. One had silver hair and a cowlick. He instantly knew who it was!
"Woah, I actually am there. AND THAT'S HER!"
Ezra ran towards the mountain, surprised he got here in less than a day. Nakialia looked down to notice the figure running towards them. She instantly started panicking and trying to get Saneko's attention.
"THAT'S WHAT I WAS TRYING TO TELL YOU ABOUT! HIM!"
Saneko, who was still in the middle of talking to the shaman about very important things, looked over with an annoyed sigh.
"What is it now?"
"THAT GUY RUNNING TOWARDS US!"
"Hm?"
Saneko squinted her eyes and saw the man climbing up the mountain, trying to reach where they were.
"Oh. Does he also want to talk about banana smoothies?"
Within no time, Ezra had made it to where they were. He was gasping and wheezing for air at this point, but tried to speak between wheezes.
"You... you are... I'm here to... hold on give me a second."
Saneko and the shaman tilted their heads in confusion, but Nakialia was still cowering in fear.
After catching his breath, he noticed the shaman. He hadn't expected the girl to have company. Despite the old man's obvious power and wisdom, Ezra could see trillions of universes where he emerged victorious against him. He smirked and shook his head at how simple this would be.
Confident once more, Ezra turned his attention to Saneko. She sat calmly, her expression still confused rather than alarmed. As their eyes met, Ezra felt a chill run down his spine. This was indeed the girl he had seen on the news, the one who had casually defeated that monster.
"So, you're the one who thinks she's so special. Let's see how you fare against true power!"
With that, Ezra closed his eyes, reaching out to the multiverse to find a timeline where he defeated Saneko. But as he searched, something unprecedented occurred. Every universe he tried to access slammed shut, as if invisible chains had wrapped around them, denying him entry.
Ezra's eyes flew open, wide with disbelief and growing panic. He tried again and again, each attempt more desperate than the last. But the result was always the same. There was no future, in any universe, where Saneko lost against him. For the first time in his life, he faced an opponent he couldn't defeat. He let out a scream of pure terror as he turned around and ran down the mountain and off into the horizon.
Saneko, Nakialia, and the shaman all looked at each other. Nakialia thought to herself and put her fingers to her chin.
"Wait, why was I scared when Saneko is here?"
Saneko shook her head and continued speaking to the shaman.
"Now, where was I? Oh yes! So, if you add Greek yogurt to a banana smoothie, it gives it this amazing ice cream-like texture..."
