On what seemed like a normal morning, before classes could even start, the plans for the day came to an abrupt halt as emergency sirens rang throughout Anetop Academy. Students from every class started to hide underneath desks, breathing heavily, not knowing exactly what was going on. Mrs. Gaud walked into the HRS class and it was clear that she was panicking as well, but she tried to keep a look of seriousness on her face.
"Everyone. This is not a drill. All of the students are evacuating to the basement. We need to get there too as soon as possible."
The students started to run out from out from underneath their desks and frantically run to the door. Usually, Mrs. Gaud would have told the students to be calm, but she was in no position to talk as she was also horrified. Cynthia ran out of from under the desk as well. She was completely disoriented, looking around to see what had just happened. All of the windows of the classroom had been shattered and she had no clue what was happening.
"Mrs. Gaud, what's going on? Are we under attack?"
"Yes. A beast has arrived on Earth and is attacking Cintianta. The police are on their way and I have just sent the student council to help assist them."
"Is the Hero Foundation going to help?"
"Maybe, but this is attacking our capital, so while we wait, we should protect our own city. Now hurry up."
Cynthia nodded and ran after the other students who were heading down to the basement of the academy. This was completely unexpected for the students, so they were all in hysteria. They ran down the stairs to the basement and they saw the other low ranking students from the other classes down there as well, with other teachers too. Mrs. Gaud walked in behind the students and closed the door. She was breathing heavily, but continued to put on a poker face.
"Alright. We should be safe for now. Remember, in this academy, we fight for the fallen heroes who fought for out safety and the promise of a new tomorrow. That's what the badge on all of your suits means after all."
The students nodded. They didn't really think about it until now, but this academy was a very serious place. Apparently, some of the heroes from the Hero Foundation were actually taught at Anetop Academy, so this fact alone put some of the students at ease.
Chloe sat down on the floor. She looked more terrified than all of the other students combined. She thought about Saneko, and then remembered her demon horns. She had convinced herself that Saneko was one of the monsters taking the form of a human and would surely side with the beast.
"Saneko is going to help that beast kill us all. I wouldn't be surprised if they teamed up to absorb all of the cultivation magic of the Earth itself into their bodies to achieve Nirvana."
Even though Chloe was clearly a glass half empty sort of person when it came to Saneko, she started to think logically after remembering the events in Brazil that had just taken place not too long ago.
"But... wait. Why would Saneko defeat that other monster? She can't possibly be on our side... right?"
With a yawn, Saneko put on her dress shoes and straightened her suit.
"I'm off to school mom. I know I'm late, so you don't need to tell me."
Mrs. Sarakana walked in holding Dyinglight in her arms. She had a very concerned look on her face as she looked at Saneko.
"Didn't you hear? A beast is attacking the capital city as we speak. It's probably best if you don't go to school."
Mrs. Sarakana immediately regretted telling Saneko this. She closed her eyes and began to think about the mistake she just made.
"Dammit! I shouldn't have said that. Saneko will now go to the city and show off again by killing the beast. I just don't want her to be in any sort of danger."
Saneko, however, completely tuned out her mom. She was mumbling a song to herself that got stuck in her head and she was too preoccupied with remembering the lyrics to pay attention right now. Mrs. Sarakana reached out one of her hands, still holding Dyinglight in the other, and reached out for Saneko.
"Wait! Where are you going!"
Still not paying attention, Saneko closed the door, and Mrs. Sarakna slowly put her arm down. She looked down at Dyinglight and shook her head.
"She's such a weird one isn't she."
Dyinglight looked back up at her and let out a tired yawn.
Saneko walked down the street as she did every week day to go to school. At this point it didn't need to be said, but she had her hands in her suit pockets, but instead of standing tall and proud like always, she stared at the ground, still mumbling the lyrics. She had heard differing opinions on what the lyrics actually said, and she was trying to figure out which was correct.
By this point in time, the beast had left the city. It stomped around causing people to scatter and scream for their lives, but Saneko wasn't paying attention to any of that. The beast was red and scaly with bright yellow eyes and razor sharp teeth. It looked down when it saw Saneko, an easy target that was simply walking and lost in her own thoughts.
"Is it 'party rock is' or 'party rockers'?"
The beast then let out a deafening roar. This got Saneko's attention. She looked up to see the massive figure standing just a few feet away from her. The beast also looked down at her and the two made eye contact. The beast immediately attempted to chomp down on her, but she simply raised her hand towards it. Her fingers were in the shape of a gun.

"Bam!"
The center of the beast's forehead exploded with blood. The force of the attack sent it falling backwards, hitting the ground with a loud thud. Saneko stared at the dead body of the beast for a few seconds before putting her hand back in her pocket, walking back down the street as if nothing had happened.
"Where was I? Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure it's 'party rock is'..."
Saneko continued walking down the road as if nothing had happened. She was far too consumed by her own thoughts to even notice what she did, which was very out of character for her.
She arrived at Anetop Academy and all of the hallways were desolate. It was so quiet that Saneko's footsteps on the tile floors echoed loudly against the walls. She arrived at the HRS class and opened the door. All of the desks had been moved around due to the panic from earlier, and seats were knocked over as well. None of this even caught Saneko's attention though. She continued looking to the ground, thinking to herself. As she made it to her desk, she sat down and began looking out of the window.
After a few minutes, Mark Sion and the rest of the student council burst through the door.
"IS EVERYONE OKAY?"
They suddenly noticed that no one was in the classroom.
"Where did everyone go?"
Kal tapped Mark on the shoulder, realizing what most likely happened.
"I think they hid in the basement. I think that was part of the drill for the other students."
"How do you know? It's so early in the year that we never even had any drills yet."
"Yeah, but don't you remember? All students from elementary to college have these drills. I had them a lot my whole life when I attended other schools."
"Yeah, I guess you're right. But why is Saneko over there?"
Mark pointed to Saneko who was not moving a muscle and was instead blankly staring out of the window,
"I don't know. I realized we just shouldn't question her. She's... well... different as you know."
Sana was anxious. She wanted to see if the other students and teachers were okay, so she did not care to chat at that moment.
"Come on, hurry up. We need to go to the basement to tell them that the beast died."
"Yeah. You're right. Let's go."
The words, "The beast died" got Saneko to perk up. She looked away from the window and called out to them before they left.
"What beast?"
"The red one with scales. The one that was just attacking Cintianta. Haven't you been paying any attention at all?"
Saneko stood up so fast she almost knocked her own chair over. She pointed to herself and let out a lofty scoff.
"It was me who defeated that monster. It was quiet easy. Now I would gladly appreciate it if you bowed before me!"
Mark rolled his eyes. He didn't even bother to respond, he just started to run down the hallway and the rest of the student council followed him. Saneko's face heated up with rage. She scowled and clenched her fists.
"INSOLENT MORTALS!"
The student council went down the stairs to the basement and opened the door. The students down there all flinched, as they were still on edge, but noticing who it was caused their fear to be short lived. Mrs. Gaud walked over to them, wondering what happened.
"Did the police defeat the monster?"
"No. It actually escaped the city."
The sound of the students' breaths hitching in their throats filled the air. It was clear that Mark's words left them to assume the worst. Mrs. Gaud too thought the worst.
"IS IT COMING HERE AS WE SPEAK!"
Seeing that Mark cause everyone to have the wrong conclusion, Allan stepped in to clarify.
"No no. It escaped and we tried to chase it down. Next thing we knew, it was dead, laying on the ground with a hole in its head."
"Was anyone there? Was it a hero that killed it?"
"People were there taking pictures of the body, but no hero as far as I could tell."
Mrs. Gaud started to doubt the story. Surely a beast the couldn't be stopped by the police wouldn't have just dropped dead. With a hole in its head no less.
"Are you sure it was the same monster?"
"Yeah. It was the exact same beast we saw in Cintianta."
"So, you're sure it's safe to exit the basement?"
"I'm sure."
Mrs. Gaud, despite still doubting the story, had to take their word for it. She turned back around and waved to the students.
"Everyone, get in a single file line and exit the basement cautiously. I know I don't really have the authority to do this, but I think you all went through enough today, so I will dismiss all of the school. If Mr. Contray takes issue with that, I'll take responsibility."
The students were still in a state of shock, but what else could they do besides obey the teacher? They'd much rather be at home anyway, so they stood in a single file line as the teacher instructed and started walking out of the basement.
Slow footsteps were heard and Mrs. Gaud turned to see Saneko walking down the stairs with a cocksure expression. Mrs. Gaud already could sense what was going to happen.
"Ah, you still refuse to see that it was all my doing don't you."
Saneko looked down at her fingers as her thumb picked the nail of her index finger.
"It amazes me how blind you are to such overwhelming power."
"Go home Saneko. Class is dismissed."
"Hmph. You dare speak to me like that?"
Chloe stepped in front of the two. She could not handle this anymore. She stepped in front of Saneko and with teary eyes, spoke to her in a pleading tone.
"Please Saneko. Don't do anything rash. I'll buy you another banana smoothie tomorrow. Just please go home."
Saneko was taken aback. Of course, she didn't actually plan on doing anything rash, but she couldn't tell Chloe that. That would mean not getting a banana smoothie. She had no qualms about taking advantage of people to get what she wanted, especially if what she wanted was her favorite drink. And plus, Saneko viewed Chloe as the worst of the worst due to her perception being influenced by poorly written power fantasies, so in her mind, she was doing the right thing.
"I suppose I shall concede. But you must keep your word about giving me a banana smoothie or you will face my wrath."
With that, Saneko swiftly turned around, her suit fluttering from her motion, and she walked back up the stairs. Chloe gulped a bit in fear. Mrs. Gaud however, had absolutely no clue what was happening, and at this point, she didn't care.
After the class had exited the school, Mrs. Gaud sat in her chair, typing a letter to Mr. Contray to explain what happened on her laptop. The door to the classroom opened and Chloe stepped in nervously.
"Hello Chloe. I said you could go home remember?"
"I know. I just wanted to talk to you about something."
"Oh okay. Go ahead."
"Promise not to tell anyone?"
Mrs. Gaud looked around in confusion. She didn't expect Chloe to come in and talk about something that was seemingly so serious.
"I guess. What's wrong?"
"Well... you know Saneko?"
"Heh. Unfortunately."
Chloe bit her bottom lip nervously. She didn't know if she should say this or not, especially considering there was a very strong chance that Mrs. Gaud might not believe her, but this was tormenting her. She knew Saneko was strong. So strong Mrs. Gaud could not do anything, but she was desperate to talk to someone about what she knew. One of Chloe's few flaws was that she could not keep a secret. This was actually perfect for Saneko, because all she wanted was for people to recognize her power.
Chloe thought that if she were to tell anyone, a teacher would probably be a better option than another student, so with a deep breath, she began to speak.
