Saneko walked through the gates of Anetop Academy, her hands in her suit pockets. Her eyes scanned around the courtyard, as if she were looking for people to feel superior over. She was late, again. It shouldn't be a surprise by now, but Saneko always had grander things on her mind. Especially today, considering she had just been on global news. As she made her way through the hallways, students from low ranking classes who didn't know about her superiority complex and delusions automatically recognized her from the news.
"Is that her?"
"I think so, it looks just like her."
"But how is she here if she was in Brazil just yesterday? It doesn't make sense."
Overhearing these murmurs made Saneko giggle internally. She was finally getting notoriety, and it didn't even take her that long. Granted, these students hadn't cultivated many powers, so their excitement over Saneko wasn't out of the ordinary for them. They would praise just about anyone that could show a sizeable amount of power, but to Saneko, it didn't matter. She didn't care who praised her. Young or old. Smart or dumb. Human or animal. Alive or dead. In her mind, praise was praise, so it didn't matter who was giving it to her.
She continued walking down the hallway, looking forward with a smirk on her lips. As she reached the HRS class, she opened the door, bursting through it so the entire class knew it was her who had arrived.
"Fear not, for I have returned! I am the global savior! The powerful and beautiful Demon Babe!"
The HRS class stared at Saneko for a few seconds before almost instantly returning their attention to the board. Unlike the lower ranking students, they knew about Saneko's delusions, so they had convinced themselves that the person on the news was just someone who looked strikingly similar to Saneko. Sure, it was denialistic, but who could blame them? Saneko had always made a spectacle of herself in such a way no other cultivator had. Her personality was almost cartoonish. They refused to believe someone like her could be stronger than two of the highest ranking cultivators in the world.
Mrs. Gaud let out a tired sigh and pointed to Saneko's seat in the back of the class.
"Sit down Saneko."
Saneko snorted and began walking to her desk. She pulled back her seat and sat down in it, putting her feet on the desk. Mrs. Gaud was starting to get used to Saneko's behavior, although she was still irritated by it. She turned back to the class and started to speak.
"Like I was saying before the interruption, we are going to go the gym again so we can practice lifting. It would be good to see how much weight each HRS can lift early in the year. We already got our rankings from the tournament, so we already have an idea of who will do the best, but it never hurts to practice."
Saneko inclined in her seat after hearing the teacher's words. This was for physical strength. She surely would be able to show off her powers this time. It didn't rely on cultivated powers, so there was no way the students would just outright deny her powers. The thought made her feel giddy inside.
"Alright class, let's go."
Saneko had just taken a seat and the class was already heading off to the gym. This was what she got for coming to school late. It didn't really bother her that much though because this type of thing was what she longed for. The idea of going to a gym with a bunch of unsuspecting classmates that will finally witness her power was something that seemed almost too perfect.
"This is such an anime moment!"
As the class walked to the gym, Saneko was striding in with confidence. She was so excited that she wasn't paying attention to her Purple Vision, so she was unaware that Chloe had something on her mind as well.
"This won't end well. I just know it won't."
Once the class entered the gymnasium, they were met with a plethora of weights on the ground. They looked around, not expecting everything to already be set up. Cynthia, who was standing next to Mrs. Gaud, turned to her and asked a question.
"Why are all of the weights already out?"
"Oh, not many students use the gym. It's essentially reserved for the HRS class barring rare circumstances. Because of that, I decided to come to school early and step up all of this stuff for you."
"Oh, okay. So do we just go in and start training, or do we need to know anything first?"
"You are high ranking students. It's honestly best to leave you to your own devices, so just go ahead and do whatever you want. Just remember that the weights are heavier the bigger they are, and try not to hurt yourselves."
Cynthia nodded and the class started walking up to weights that they thought they could lift. Mark naturally went up to the bigger ones. He saw a barbell that had 150 pounds on each side. He rubbed his hands together and bent down to grab it. He lifted the weight slightly off of the ground. He was putting all of his strength into this, so his veins were visible in his forehead. He funneled all of his magic into his hands, letting him lift the weight slightly higher, but unfortunately, that was all he could manage. He dropped the weight back to the floor and started breathing heavily.
None of the students even dared to try and lift such a heavy weight from the start. Others, even top ranking students like Chloe and Kal, stuck with 50 pound weights for now. As we all know though, Saneko wasn't like the other students. She sauntered over to Mark and put out her hand as if to tell him to step back.
"Step aside. I can do this with ease."
Seeing this, Chloe immediately dropped the weight she was holding and ran up to Saneko. She was overly paranoid about Saneko, constantly thinking that she would cause destruction due to her powers.

"NO SANEKO!"
Saneko turned to Chloe. Her eyes narrowed with anger when she saw her coming.
"Not this girl again."
Chloe had to come up with a reason as to why she stopped Saneko so she didn't look suspicious. Her eyeballs moved to the corners of her eyes as she thought of an explanation.
"Umm... that weight... it's... far to heavy for someone like you to lift! You might break your back, so please, come on and try easier weights."
Saneko's look of anger turned into one of superiority. She was now focusing on Purple Vision, and could clearly see what Chloe was trying to do, so she leaned in and whispered into Chloe's ear.
"I can essentially read your mind you know."
Saneko then backed away and turned back to the weight. Her whisper made Chloe feel a shiver down her spine. She thought she was dead meat as she truly believed Saneko was completely evil.
"She's going to kill me! This is it! I'm dead!"
Saneko bent down and lifted the weight easily with one hand. She smirked as she lifted it over her head.
"As you can see, I am far greater than all of you mortals!"
By this point in time, Mark had already left and was focusing on the other weights, as were all of the other students.
"PAY ATTENTION TO ME!"
Her nonchalant attitude was faltering as her frustration grew. None of the students payed attention to her scream, so she dropped the weight, causing it to crash against the ground. The thud echoed throughout the gym, causing all of the students to turn over to see what happened.
"Oh NOW their attentions are caught."
Saneko turned around and crossed her arms, pouting to herself. Chloe was left baffled. This one moment caused her perception of Saneko to change a bit. She was still horrified of Saneko and the damage she might cause, but Chloe began to think of every one these outbursts Saneko had. At this moment it became clear to her that Saneko was Saneko's biggest fan, or more accurately, Demon Babe's biggest fan. Deep inside she was just a girl who wanted attention. Even so, Chloe still feared Saneko greatly, knowing what she was capable of.
Saneko's frustration caused the air around them to thicken slightly. Chloe remembered this feeling from earlier, so in a state of urgency, she decided to play along, just so Saneko wouldn't cause any destruction.
"Oh, I see now. You are almighty!"
Chloe got on her knees and bowed before her. This confused Saneko, causing her to turn around. Her looked of confusion quickly turned into a thrilled expression as she put her hands on her hips and laughed triumphantly.
"YES! BOW BEFORE THE ALMIGHTY DEMON BABE OR YOU SHALL SUFFER ETERNAL DAMNATION!"
To Chloe, these words weren't just hyperbolic statements. She truly did believe Saneko would kill her if she continued to be disrespected, so Chloe continued to bow and tears streamed down her face. Even knowing how Saneko's personality worked didn't calm Chloe down. She never thought such a being could exist, and she started to think Saneko was actually a demon. She did have the horns after all, and she explicitly stated she was. Chloe had no clue how Saneko's "hero name" came to be, and it was probably for the best.
"Is... is there anything I can do for you almighty Demon Babe?"
Saneko's smile grew larger than it was before. She knew exactly what she wanted. After a few minutes, Kal put down one of the weights he was lifting and wiped the sweat away from his forehead as he caught his breath. He looked around and Something caught his attention.
"Why the hell is Chloe feeding Saneko a banana smoothie?"
Chloe felt extremely embarrassed, but she was doing this for her own survival, or so she thought. Once Saneko had finished the smoothie she threw the glass against the wall, causing it to shatter everywhere. The sound caught Mrs. Gaud's attention, and she grimaced at the sight. She walked up to Saneko and began to scold her.
"Saneko! You clean up that mess up right now!"
Saneko, being the stubborn mule she was, crossed her arms and looked away.
"I am someone who can rip your esophagus from out of your chest and feed it to you. Do not tell the great Demon Babe what do to."
"Do not talk back to me. You are on thin ice as it is, and you're not making this any better for yourself."
"HA! You are the most insolent of all the mortals here!"
Chloe watched the discord between the two and began trembling in fear. She quickly spoke up, her voice shaking.
"I'll clean it up! It... it was my fault!"
Mrs. Gaud turned to Chloe, completely confused by her statement.
"I literally saw Saneko do it."
"No! It was me! Totally me! Entirely me actually!"
"..."
Saneko began to shout in excitement in her mind. This was like watching a power fantasy with Demon Babe as the main character, and Saneko as the viewer. Saneko had a disconnect between herself and Demon Babe. She would lose herself in the act as she genuinely thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Mrs. Gaud shook her head. She knew very well how reliable Chloe was. She wasn't a liar, so Mrs. Gaud took her word for it.
"Okay. Go clean it up then I guess.
"Yes ma'am!"
Chloe ran to the the janitor's closet to get a mop. When she returned she saw Saneko walking up to Sana, who was also lifting a weight. Chloe let out a yelp and dropped the mop running up to Saneko to stop her from doing whatever she was going to do.
"Struggling to lift such a tiny weight. This class is truly pathetic. If only you had as great of powers as I do."
"Umm... okay? I'm joining the student council so I wouldn't say I'm pathetic."
"Perhaps not to the weak minds here, but to a transcendent being such as myself, you are nothing but a mere ant."
Chloe jumped in-between the two of them and laughed nervously. She looked at Sana while pushing Saneko away slighty.
"She's just teasing you. You know, classic Saneko."
"I do not tease!"
With that Saneko pushed Chloe aside and put her finger to the center of Sana's forehead. Sana looked up to see Saneko's finger touching her.
"What are you doing?"
"I will erase your brain, causing you to become nothing but a mindless zombie. It is retribution for your insolence."
Saneko loved throwing the word "insolence" around. It made her feel superior. Chloe let out a horrified scream, not wanting to see Sana turn into a zombie.
"NO SANEKO! STOP!"
Her scream caused the entire class to stop what they were doing and look over at the three of them. There was a deafening silence that seemed to last forever. Sana grabbed Saneko's wrist and lowered her hand from her forehead.
"I don't know what's going on here, but I would like it if you stopped."
Saneko returned her hand to her suit pocket and walked away. Chloe watched as Saneko walked off. Her mind once again racing with all of the possible negative outcomes.
"She's mad. She's going to kill me. No, she's going to kill everyone isn't she!"
In truth, Saneko was simply irritated that Chloe was such a goody two shoes. This was supposed to be the easiest way to show off, but all of the students were too busy focusing on their own weights, and with Chloe here, it just seemed extra impossible. With a clenched fist, Saneko swore to herself that she would get revenge.
Chloe continued to watch her as she walked off. Saneko sat on one of the bleachers and looked away wistfully. It seemed like she was no longer upset and Chloe couldn't feel any tension in the surrounding air, so she started to calm down. The class, especially Sana, was still confused though.
"What was that all about Chloe? You've been acting just as strange as Saneko recently."
"It's... uh... nothing. Don't worry about it."
Chloe tried to return to the mop she left on the ground, but fell to the ground when she tried walking. The class was still staring and Chloe was completely disoriented. She looked down to see that her shoes where encased in concrete.
"WHAT? HOW?"
Saneko smirked as her eyes faded from orange to purple.
