Saneko was sitting on the living room couch, looking down with a guilty expression on her face as her mom was standing in front of her, scolding her for her actions earlier in the day.
"You never learn! You were just grounded, and now you go and ruin a field trip just because you wanted to get attention. Let me guess, you teleported too didn't you?"
'For the love of god mom, no, I didn't teleport."
"Oh... thank goodness. But still, I am very disappointed in you. Ever since you started going to Anetop Academy, your obsessiveness with being the best has just gotten worse."
"You're the one who wanted me to go to school."
"So now you're blaming it on me?"
Saneko huffed in frustration. It seemed like she was constantly getting in trouble now. She seemed to want to blame it on everyone but herself though.
"But mom, I obey you all the time! I just wanted to have some fun."
"Fun is one thing, but ruining the field trip for everyone is not fun. And while I do agree that you have been a good girl for the most part, you have recently been acting up far too much. And look, you rarely even take care of Dyinglight even though I told you to."
"You already admitted you like doing it yourself."
"That's besides the point. You try to get out of every responsibility possible."
"Don't tell me you're going to ground me again."
"I don't know what I'm going to do yet. I'm going to have to think about it."
Mrs. Sarakana turned away to leave Saneko sitting there alone. Saneko wasn't all too worried this time though, because her Purple Vision said that her mom was just bluffing this time, hoping Saneko would fall for it.
"Why can't she see how cool I am? I guess I'm doomed to be like the protagonist from, 'Why Don't They Believe I'm The Strongest?', and that show was so aggravating to watch."
She looked over to see that Dyinglight was also sitting there on the couch, fast asleep. With a sigh Saneko closed her eyes and started using her telekinesis to pour cat food into its bowl. Once the bowl was filled, she caused it to hover over to where she was.
"Mom said I don't take care of this cat. Well I'll show her."
Saneko picked up the cat and started shaking it violently. It started letting out scared meows as it was rudely awoken from its nap. Once she noticed that it was awake, she placed the disgruntled cat down next to the bowl.
"Eat!"
It looked up at her and hissed before walking away.
"Well screw you too then!"
Shaking her head, she sat back down on the couch and crossed her arms, looking just as disgruntled as the cat. She grumbled to herself, thinking that she did nothing wrong.
"It doesn't even want to eat. So ungrateful."
Mr. Sarakana entered the room and looked down at Saneko. He ruffled her hair a bit.
"Hey. You grounded again?"
Saneko shook her head, not liking when people started messing with her hair.
"No. Mom said that she was thinking of a way to punish me though."
"Oh, well I already have something in mind."
Saneko buried her face into her hands and groaned in annoyance.
"Oh god no."
"It's not too bad. Just fix the kitchen table. You broke it remember?"
Saneko exhaled, trying not to lose her temper. She stood up and walked over to the kitchen. Her eyes turned orange and she created a marble circle that looked just like the old table. When her eyes returned to normal, Mr. Sarakana clapped a bit with a smile on his face.
"It's so convenient having an overpowered daughter."
"Great. I'm a convenience. Whoop de doo."
"Oh come on. Don't be like that. Even you know it's really helpful."
"Yeah, whatever."
"Now all you need to do now is put the legs back on."
Saneko pointed to the legs and they started to float off of the ground, connecting themselves to the new tabletop. Once they were connected, she bent over, and with one hand, she lifted the table so that it would stand on its legs.
"There."
"Thank you!"
Mrs. Sarakana heard them talking but didn't know what was going on, so she started walking back over to them.
"What is going on..."
She stopped talking when she saw the new table. She had always loved marble, so when she saw the shiny surface she immediately started radiating with joy.
"IT'S BEAUTIFUL! HOW MUCH DID IT COST?"
Mr. Sarakana giggled at her change in personality.
"Not a single cent. Saneko did it all by herself."
Mrs. Sarakana ran over and started squeezing Saneko in a tight hug. Saneko gritted her teeth and closed one of her eyes, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
Stolen story; please report.
"THANK YOU!"
"Yeah yeah, just get off of me."
She let go and began feeling the smooth texture of the table, marveling at how amazing it was. Mr. Sarakana reached into his pocket and pulled out a few dollars before handing them to Saneko. She looked at them with narrowed eyes, not sure what he was doing.
"What's this for?"
"For getting one of those smoothies duh. I mean, you put basically zero effort into helping us, but at least your mom likes it. And plus, you doing anything helpful is a rarity, so go ahead."
She didn't even process his backhanded compliment. Her mind froze once she heard banana smoothie. She snatched the money and sprinted out of the door like always. It didn't matter how many times she drank one, she always felt just as excited about it every time.
Meanwhile, Chloe had been writing in her notebook about the anxiousness and fear she had been feeling about Saneko. The book was filled with pages of words that were written so frantically, that they were illegible.
"Why did she leave me there in that playground? Did she poison me? Did she curse me? She's trying to kill me isn't she?"
Her writing started to get more erratic as she thought about it. While Chloe's mental state only continued to decline, Saneko had completely forgotten about her existence. Of course, Chloe didn't know this. She was convinced Saneko was out there to do something bad. She didn't know what it was, but she was too far gone now to think anything different at this point.
Staying in the confines of her room was the only thing that calmed her enough so that the emerald on her bracelet wouldn't continue to shatter. It couldn't take anymore stress as it was on the verge of breaking as it was. As she scribbled words into her notebook, she got a notification on her phone that startled her. She hesitantly reached into her pocket to get it out. Once she did, she powered on the phone, only for the notification to read about the supervillain that had been attacking cities recently. She had known about this already as it had been all over the news, but what caught her attention was that the notification attached another statement.
"The villain has also made a statement..."
This caught Chloe's attention. She immediately pressed on the link and unlocked her phone to see what the full sentence was. She read as quickly as she could to get to the statement the villain had said, and once she arrived at full sentence in the article, it felt as if her heart stopped.
"The villain has also made a statement regarding his target, the country of Dying Star. He had hacked every device in all of Mexico to say that he will kill the queen of the country. We still do not know why."
Upon reading this, Chloe grabbed her head, and her eyes had a look of pure terror on them.
"N...no... why is this happening? Why does it never stop?"
The bracelet then shattered into pieces, the fragments crumbling to the floor.
The ground began to tremble. People all over the country looked down as they noticed the rumbling and shaking of the Earth itself. The trembling continued growing stronger and stronger by the second, and it didn't take long for people to start panicking.
Saneko had just exited the ice cream shop, walking down the street, sipping on her smoothie like it was nothing. People screamed in fear, and cracks started appearing in the ground. Despite all of this, Saneko didn't notice. She was too busy sipping on the best drink in the world.
She turned a corner, and a tree that was being uprooted by the shaking started to fall, and landed directly on top of her head. However, it just snapped in half the moment it came in contact with her durable skin. She still didn't even notice that anything had happened.
Once she arrived at her house, she tried to open the door with her free hand, but it was locked. She shrugged and decided to teleport inside. She was already close enough to home for it to matter anyway.
She reappeared in the living room and it was completely dark because of the electricity going out. She didn't notice though and sat down on the couch. She picked up the remote, pointing it to the TV screen, but it wouldn't turn on. Saneko looked down at the remote to see if something was wrong with it before continuing to press the power button. A door in the house made a creaking sound as it opened, and Mr. Sarakana walked out, waving Saneko over to him.
"Come to the basement! We are having an earthquake."
She turned to him and continued sipping on her smoothie, not saying anything.
"HURRY!"
She continued sipping until it was empty. She let out a refreshed sigh and put the cup down, standing up, completely satisfied.
"Okay, I'm coming."
She was completely unbothered. The taste of a banana smoothie always put her at ease.
Stepping down into the basement, Saneko looked down at her mom who let out a relieved sigh.
"Oh thank goodness you're okay."
"Yeah. What's the big deal anyway? It's just an earthquake."
"Well earthquakes can be very dangerous Saneko."
"Really? What if I just did this?"
Saneko stomped on the concrete floor of the basement and the world went still. The streets that were once trembling, ceased to. The cracks in the ground stopped growing. The panicked people running for their lives, began to settle down. Her stomp had pushed the tectonic plates back into place.
Mr. and Mrs. Sarakana looked at each other with shocked, yet unsurprised glances. Saneko shrugged and started walking back up the stairs, back into the house. She didn't think what she did was impressive at all. If this was around her classmates, or a group of onlookers, she would have made a spectacle of her display of power, but around her parents, she didn't feel the need to do that.
In the 3rd world above, Chrona stepped out of her room for the first time in a while. She looked around the dark and desolate streets of the world. She covered her eyes from the light. Even though it was dark, it was blinding compared to the nearly pitch black room she always sat in. She hadn't seen Kray since the last time they spoke, which wasn't the most positive encounter they have had.
"Kray! Where are you?"
Her shout easily echoed through the demolished city. Kray, who was in one of the alleyways, heard the echo and sighed before he began walking back to the room.
Chrona saw him in the distance, walking back up to where she was. Once he had arrived, she spoke up with a very tired voice.
"Where have you been?"
"I was searching for more bodies. I found one not too long ago and was wondering if there were more."
"Did you put them into the machine?"
"Yup. Although, we probably won't be using it much anymore."
Kray was trying to be cordial, but there was still some lingering tension from their previous argument.
"Anyway, I'm surprised you actually came outside. Something new happen in the Mortal Realm?"
Chrona looked down and kicked some rubble that was right next to her.
"Yeah, but that's not why I came outside. I just wanted to apologize. I know you were just trying to help me."
"That doesn't matter. I just want to know why you care about those smoothies so much."
"I already told you. They hold great power."
"So, why can't I drink one."
"I just don't feel comfortable explaining that right now."
As much as Kray wanted to know, he also wanted to respect Chrona's feelings, so he decided to drop it.
"I guess I'll accept that."
"Thank you. Anyway, I also wanted to tell you that I think I should go down and... you know... put an end to this."
"What? You can't do that! We don't even have a plan!"
"We don't need one. Only I do."
"No way you're doing that! All of those good-for-nothing knights died with a snap of that girl's fingers, literally!"
"You know I'm far stronger than them. Strength is really all that matters. And in all honestly, this was what I was planning to do right when Saneko killed all of the knights we sent. I was just trying to get the courage to go down there."
Kray couldn't believe what he was hearing. He didn't get what changed. They lived relatively normal lives until Saneko was born. Now all of this was happening and it just didn't make any sense to him.
"No! We still have tons of knights left over."
"You know that won't work. Don't worry about me. I can win, I was just scared earlier, but now I know I can. The spiritual power of the world is weakening. A villain has been destroying cities, and that 'perfect girl' is now breaking, which is causing more destruction. I'll just wait for the perfect opportunity, and strike."
"You can't do that!"
"I want this to end as much as you do Kray. I want everything to go back to normal too."
Kray clenched his fists. He knew Chrona's power was beyond comprehension, and no one from any of the lower worlds should be able to even comprehend her existence. But at the same time, he knew what Saneko was capable of. He wanted to trust Chrona, but he couldn't help but have his doubts.
