Vol 2 Ch 82.1: Floating Treasurebox part 2

This stupid ship is everything; a floating treasure box, snack box and coffin in one. Do we get plundered, eaten or do we sink first?

This ship had a shitty floating spell on it and it was slowly giving out. The only ship that could carry this amount of cargo? Bullshit!

They had to make it such that I will have to dispel it and create a new and better one to help this boat. I have never created a floating enchantment but that isn’t the problem here… it will take a while to replace it, enough time for this ship to sink. I would be able to replace it after we arrive on the island so it will just have to hold out for that long.

I tried a floating primal rune. It did correct the ship but it started slowly returning to its previous state over time. The acceleration command I gave to the ship at the start wasn’t permanent, I had to keep renewing them which I did whenever Jeff asked for tweaks in our course.

The sun started to rise. Another beautiful day, hopefully as uneventful as the last. Around 07:00 a ruckus started. Someone had attempted to sneak in with the chicks on board. We’ve only been gone for a day and they’re thirsty for female attention already? Wild Fang joined me as we spectated an argument that had broken out on deck.

“What’s with them? They're already this wild and the day has just started.”

Dunno, some human problem.

“Aren’t you a wild human too?”

Even as a human I have no clue why they can’t behave. The argument escalated and magic started flying around. Wild Fang and I dodged some stray magic bolts and shaped magic.

I hope they will cool off after getting this out of their system.

A discovery was made; someone had eaten half of the breakfast. Wild Fang and I were casually eating while watching the humans fight. Apparently, I’m not a suspect because I haven’t moved from my spot since yesterday according to some crewmates that had the night shift. I’m sorry crew but I’m the culprit.

“Hey, are they blind? Can’t they see that were wildly eating their breakfast? Ohh can you hand me that?”

Well it seems some have seen me use my dimensional box before so they probably assume that I got this food out of my dimensional box. Have you tried these cheese sandwiches? Can you hand me the juice? We had a nice breakfast and the fights escalated. Someone used a [Fireblast] and a part of the ship started to burn.

How did they manage to burn soaked wood…

I put out the fire and continued to observe. I noticed how the sneaky adventurer finished a Teleroad message within the chaos.

Oh, this can’t be good.

Wild Fang, we can expect unwanted visitors relatively soon. One of my suspicions is probably going to come true.

“Oooh! So, it’s finally time! This is going to be wild!” He said as he ran inside. Probably to get ready for something.

The problem with pirates is… these guys are used to fight on the ocean. I don’t think I will lose but Wild Fang is probably the only one who is going to be useful. I hate to say it but people used to fighting on land are no match against those that fight on the water regularly. I might even learn a thing or 2 from these pirates. I will treat them with extreme prejudice though and sink them as swiftly and efficiently as possible. I can learn from pirates another time. I drew a prinal rune.

Acla!

The ship sped up and it caught everyone fighting off guard. A mist bank approached in the distance. This is nothing special except that this fog was made with magic. I could see what’s in it but others can’t. I wouldn’t say it’s a pirate fleet because I don’t know how organized they are but multiple small pirate ships were approaching.

Some seemed to be fighting each other but not to the extent to sink each other. I got up from my ice chair and started stretching. I felt people staring at me but I would pay them no heed. Wild Fang burst out of the door in a surf outfit.

“It is time! I can smell gunpowder! The wild pirates are here!” As usual Wild Fang and I were the only ones aware of the situation but these words caused panic. Suspicious adventurer was faking panic but was doing a shitty job. Right Wild Fang and I will deal with these pirates, you guys sort out your own mess.

“Wait then who is going to steer this ship?!” The wannabe hero seemed to be shaking in his boots.

You can use water magic, right?

“Yes, but…”

Congratulations! You’re in charge of steering now and good luck! Wild Fang let’s go see what the status is of our attackers!

I climbed into the mast and Wild Fang followed.

“Whoa, you are wildly agile for a human, you put me to shame there for a bit!”

You might not see them but you can smell them, right?

“Yeah, I can also hear something, they seem to be wildly fighting each other but I don’t hear anything that suggests that their wildly killing each other. It might be a trap.”

I had to pretend to not be able to hear them also. Foxes have very good ears. I’m not sure if a human would be able to hear them from here or not.

Would you be surprised if I could sink some ships from here?

“Ha! Of course not! Isn’t your job to make outnumbered fights a piece of cake? I will be looking forward to what wild method you come up with!”

I gestured that I would need some space. I connected to the air leyline current and used [Surface Flip] on the 3 closest ships. It was heavy, as if I had to physically flip the boats. I only managed to flip 1 boat.

This is the first time I used this on anything heavier than a human. I had no idea that weight is a limiting factor. I guess that plan is out. At least one ship had been disabled. Well, they want to fight with mist eh. Fight mist with mist.

Get your surfboard out Wild Fang. Let’s pay them a visit.

“Yes! Yes! Let’s go!”

Wild fang and I jumped off the ship. I disconnected from the leyline currents and used [Tsunami] and created a surfboard out of frost and Wild Fang and I rode the [Tsunami] to the pirate fleet.

“Whoo! This is what I’m talking about! Pay attention to my [Wild Surf]!” Wild Fang’s surfboard grew 2 ice claws on the side and he surfed in between 2 pirate ships and the claws tore through the hulls. The [Tsunami] hit the frontline of the fleet and various attempts were made to stop the [Tsunami].

Wild Fang jumped up and landed on a pirate ship and started tearing pirates to shreds. He seemed to have the time of his life.

I surfed past many ships and went to the middle of the fleet and used [Azure Sharks]. 9 sharks spread out and give the pirate ships hell. Wild Fang jumped from ship to ship while mowing down pirates.

He seemed to have stolen some food from some ships and got knocked off one of the ships and went back to surfing, adding some fancy tricks here and there.

Someone used [Water Spout] on me to launch me in the air. I let them and used [Azure Spear] and sent it at a random ship blasting a big hole into it. It isn’t effective in dealing with multiple targets but I just need some strong water skills. I was time for [Azure mist].

Blue fog mixed with the existing one and trapped the whole fleet in the [Azure Mist]. chaos ensued, they couldn’t see what was going on, activating magic took twice as long and when they did, they would get hit by something twice as strong as [Azure Spear].

Wild Fang also couldn’t see what was going on but I could see exactly what was going on and I relaxed on a pirate ship. They would self-destruct as long as this skill is in effect. Any attempt at using magic got the pirates blasted and it didn’t take long before every pirate was dead.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

Azu’s skill is brutal. This is the first time I used it in combat besides the time that I used it with Azu.

Anyone reliant on mana get fucked over with this. The best course of action is to run.

The floating coffin was approaching and this fleet was still a problem. [Azure mist] dissipated as well as the mist bank they had put up and the ship graveyard became visible to everyone on the floating coffin.

“Whoo, you did it again! This is Wild! I don’t even know how you did it!” Wild Fang was excited as ever to get free kills.

We hopped back on the floating coffin and I steered the ship around the floating junk. The suspicious adventurer seemed in shock and defeated as if we just killed his whole family or something. Anyways that is not my problem.

The wannabe hero seemed quite useless in using water magic. Did he come here to be useless? At least the fight had stopped there was 1 problem…

Hey guys! Get out the circle!

“This is our circle now!”

Oh, taking over steering the ship? Cool I’ll go to sleep then.

I climbed up in the mast and found a spot where I could sleep. I tied myself to the mast because I can’t be truthful and say that I trust these guys.

----------------------------------------

A lot of noise. Something is wrong, why isn’t the boat moving? I opened my eyes and we seem to have ran into a reef. Moreover, we were slowly sinking. Not my problem so I went back to sleep.

Is what I thought as I got rocked an hour later.

“Silver Torrent! Wake up bro, we wildly need you!”

Ugh, I guess no rest for me, what’s the matter?

“Well, the humans started fighting wildly and decided that you’re at fault!”

How selfish, let’s hear what they have to say.

I jumped down and got met by an angry mob.

“This is all your fault!”

I was asleep so I don’t see how this is my fault.

“Weren’t you in charge of steering the ship?”

You guys were clear in taking it over by hanging around in the circle so it became your responsibility, pushing this on me is unreasonable.

“He has a point though; he was clear in what he needed the circle for.” The Golden Angel agreed with me.

“Shut up woman! You can’t expect us to be ok with him claiming that circle for himself?”

Hey no need to be rude to our healer, there are very few rules concerning Golden Angels but one of them is that you want to keep them your friend. Now back to your unreasonable request, how am I supposed to steer the ship if there were a lot of people there? No matter what, steering the ship became impossible for me the moment you guys decided to hang around there.

“We don’t care, fix this problem aren’t you a B-rank adventurer?”

I don’t see how this and that are related, I’m not a god I can’t undo your mistakes.

“We don’t care, fix it!” A lot of people seemed to agree, a minority seemed to think it was unreasonable.

“Is this how humans treat each other? I’m wildly disappointed! Don’t we have the same goal?” Unfortunately, Wild Fang’s words fell on deaf ears.

So, you want me to fix this situation, eh? Are you willing to listen to me then?

“If you can fix it, we will have no complaints right guys?” Most of the humans nodded.

I want you to be specific in what you’re expecting of me. And I will warn you, be careful what you wish for.

I made a chair of ice and sat down and leaned back and listened with a malicious smile. It is time for malicious compliance.

“We want you to fix this ship and bring us to the island!”

“And don’t forget to fight off threats!”

“Yeah!”

Is that all?

My smile seemed to unsettle the unreasonable humans.

“Ehh, I think that’s all, right guys?”

“Yeah, I think so.”

I got up.

Ok the first step would be fixing this floating coffin then.

I connected to the air leyline currents and used [Waterspout] to knock this sorry state of a ship into the air. This ship was heavy so it took a lot of effort.

The humans started to scream but nowhere in their request did they request for me to keep them safe or do things within reason. While airborne I started freezing the parts of the ship that needed fixing. I can’t fix a boat but I can freeze it. It will be very cold but nowhere did they say that they wanted to stay warm or dry.

The boat, fixed with ice and frost, landed on a part that wasn’t shallow. It sent some people flying but nowhere did they state that we should leave no one behind. I made sure to save the crew that disagreed with the majority though.

I shifted stance and started using [Stormy Tides]. The ocean started to become wild. This wasn’t a big problem because we would be hit by a storm early tomorrow anyways. These weather forecasts are relatively useless.

I let this skill dance on the ambient leyline while I sent the ship forward. It was very bumpy because of the 9m+ waves but never did they state that they wanted to arrive smoothly. I confirmed the course with Jeffrey and we were heading toward the island.

An angry passenger pointed at me. “You! What are you doing!”

I did exactly what you asked, I fixed the boat and am bringing us toward the island.

I sat back on my chair of ice. I had frozen my chair to the deck and myself to the chair to make sure I didn’t get sent flying by these enormous waves. Everyone was holding on to something.

“Are you insane! We didn’t tell you to do it like this!”

That’s why I told you to be specific. I have done what you asked so now it is your turn to do what you promised. Shut up and don’t bother anyone anymore. That’s all.

“You can’t be serious We...” I [Flushed] him overboard.

Anyone else having objections and wants to break the agreement, I can also undo the ice and put someone else in charge of getting us to the island.

“I…I understand why you’re doing this but can’t we get along and help each other?”

Listen Healerchick, I know you mean well but hardly anyone has the intention to get along and help, the arguments and fights form before are evidence, how they snapped at you is evidence, how they disrespected my circle and how they blamed me is evidence. Some people just need a taste of their own medicine to get a point across.

Someone objected and threw slurs at me and I [Flushed] him overboard too.

The ocean is dangerous, we can’t allow this fuckery else more people would die. We even have an adventurer here that called a pirate fleet on us.

The suspicious adventurer turned pale. I looked straight at him and the others followed my gaze.

“W…what? I would never call the Nyr pirate fleet on us!”

See this is what I mean, I had no idea what the name of the pirate fleet was until this guy spoke. Most of you guys here are clowns, without Wild Fang and me here most of you would be swimming with the fishes.

Some humans started to interrogate the suspicious adventurer. I cancelled the [Stormy Tides] because we would get hit by a real storm in about 5 hours. The people on the ship would have some rest till then.

A sailor approached me. “Hey, is there any way you can make this ice less cold?” You do know how ice works right?

“Yes…”

Wild Fang was the only one who wasn’t shivering. He was just fishing in his flower-patterned shirt. What a free spirit.
