Nilah shrunk in size when I used [Nilah] on her. I was expecting her to get bigger or another fox to pop up but she got smaller. Some things changed and It also affected me. All my tails ignited in an unfamiliar foxfire while Nilah’s tail ignited in the familiar ones. All my mana went to Nilah and she kept dumping spirit energy on me which fueled my foxfire.

Nilah was burning mana-based cold foxfire and I was burning spirit energy-based foxfire. Spirit energy got converted into mana by my foxfire, which got sent to Nilah who burnt mana with her foxfire and converted it to spirit energy and sent it to me. It kept looping like this.

Nilah’s body temperature dropped while mine rose. I walked over to her, picked her up and hugged her which caused us to exchanged heat.

I see so it is some form of collaboration magic.

Nilah jumped out of my arms and grew again and I hopped on Nilah’s back. The exchange of mana, spirit energy, and heat increased in efficiency. My foxfire was 80% spirit energy and 20% mana while Nilah’s foxfire was 80% mana and 20% spirit energy.

Hmm, it seems it forced me to get good in spirit energy and you to get good in using foxfires. Shall we go and see what this can do?

Nilah started running. She was as fast as my average running speed. There was nothing to freeze or to burn so we vented foxfires, this only seemed to increase the amount we had to spend however.

Oh... that is odd. Hey Nilah I think this turned us into ticking timebombs. We have to finish this before the energy gets too much for us.

We stopped venting foxfires, Nilah sped up and i got ready as I spotted the assholes responsible for this. Greg and Hablena were arguing instead of killing. What are they doing? Raishin was fighting the twins alone.

Raishin nodded. Nilah and I were just wildly throwing foxfires around. We also had to avoid instant death magic. I had already gotten hit once because I was distracted.

I was slowly overheating and Nilah was getting slower due to the cold. Our heat exchange couldn’t keep up with the amount of energy we were getting out of this. We might have to tune this better. Fortunately, we could get rid of it.

We covered ourselves in hot and cold foxfires and tackled the fucker. We transferred all the head and cold, together with the foxfires into our target and he got vaporized. Nilah and I turned back to normal after confirming he was dead.

“Hey! That’s not fair you didn’t do that the last time!” She summoned her 2 large disgusting worms. I torched them while Nilah kept freezing Hablena. She tried to start verbal warfare and trash talking but she kept getting frozen or incinerated.

None of her decay skills worked because Nilah was taking care of it.

“Y…” I burnt her tongue and it turned into ash. She turned into a swarm of flies and did the thing her brother did. My senses all got cut off but I could somehow look through Nilah’s point of view, so I was fine.

I got close to Nilah to get rid of the heat. It felt good to continue to turn her into ashes. She kept regenerating and didn’t just die. The red moonlight was intoxicating as always and I enjoyed this more than I should have.

“Aaagh! What is this?!” We weren’t attacking her but she seemed in pain. She shrunk, fell to the ground, and rolled around. I wanted to continue but it looked like the fight was already over.

Nilah and I canceled our [Heat exchange] and went to see what was wrong with Hablena.

“It's so hot! And cold!” A red and blue glow was emanating from her. I only used blue fire and so did Nilah.

She genuinely seemed to be in a lot of pain. I inspected her with Elgards eyes. She was still stronger than before but had been inflicted [Foxfire Frostburn] on her. She had a single stack on her and it was causing her this much pain.

Oh, I have no idea what this is. Let’s see if I can get this off you.

“Please! I won’t try to kick your ass again! Please get it off!” I tried to dispel it but that didn’t work. It wasn’t a curse, just a regular status effect, although 'normal' was inacurate as it did a stupid amount of damage to Hablena, I couldn't get it off her and I had no idea how I activated it. I tried to cool her off with frost magic but that seemed to make the pain worse. Trying to heat her up with foxfire did so too. Apparently, it amplified the severity when she got hit by either foxfire or frost magic. Normal ice or fire didn’t do anything.

I started [Elgards Overload] and got it off her. The sky turned back to normal as my 9t mode dropped.

“Thank you!” I got an uncomfortable hug.

Hmm so after killing the frost and abyss magic users it got destroyed by gods. Not surprising.

No. my spirit tethers are safe for now that I have Ichor Pneuma. Maybe the problem is solved but it is a fact that the population of spirits is dangerously low on the Mainfloor. First, they get pulled in and now…
