We headed west to Hjuva with our new team member. We had a lot of trouble at the border as we were still up north, so a lot of people wanted to kidnap Elliana and sell her as a slave. We decided to avoid any major cities but something had become apparent. Everything had become extremely expensive.
The disease had dissipated, but there was a new problem. The cure needed a lot of electronium which put pressure on Yzs. Yzs had in response cranked up the prices of electronium which made the whole continent suffer. I am honestly unsurprised by this fact. I am surprised that it had taken this long for something like this to happen.
And with the energy cost skyrocketing, everything skyrocketed in price also. Another problem was that some areas couldn’t afford the exorbitant prices and had to go without energy or more primitive resources. This continent is so fucked if they keep this up.
I’m unsure on the details but the kings or whoever is in charge of the other countries refused to listen to Yzs’ demands which caused them to keep the prices high.
Lumber had also become expensive because the Aquini Kingdom was still at war.
I am wondering if the humans have opted for self-destruction. They can’t die from the world falling apart due to the immortal races dying out if they self-destruct first.
We finally reached Hjuva at the end of December.
Hey Elliana, you’re the oldest right?
Oh no, Raishin please shut up.
So, you can act as our granny if we need to disguise ourselves!
Nilah get him!
“Wow, then you can play the infant!”
Nilah never mind, Elliana just roasted him.
An infant, I think he would be a convincing infant.
Hey!
“Well as you would say. I have been living under a rock, so I might not act as the oldest, and I’m almost 1 year in elf years!”
Right, 200 human years for every elf year, it seems you’re the same age as us then. Older than us in Kaledonian, but the youngest if we go by race.
Oh, is that so? Aren’t you turning 2 in 5 more human years? Grandpa Greg!
Oh yeah that’s right!
That is true, so listen to your elders and shut up!
We got close to Jubra and wondered if we should go near it or not. That was the place where we had been sold off as slaves, so going there was a bad idea. We decided to avoid it in the end. Greg did want to see what happened to Boshi town. Elliana was also curious about the place we grew up. I reminded them that it’s a big hole in the ground now, but they still wanted to go there, so that’s where we would be going.
We were nearing a familiar mountain range after traveling for 2 hours.
I certainly haven’t missed this place!
Yeah, we have endured a lot of fuckery here.
We climbed up to the Boshi plateau, specifically, Boshi hole, but Raishin and Greg were extremely slow.
Ugh, I don’t remember this place being so hard to get to.
I know right?
Elliana and I were leaving these 2 in the dust.
Both of you need to work on your condition, it’s absolutely garbage!
Easy for you to say… we don’t run around at light speed all the time!
I can’t run at light speed, don’t be ridiculous.
Elliana looked at the plants nearby. Not quite light corrupted, but they looked ill. “This place feels strange.”
Yup, that would be the light corruption. Let’s wait here, Greg needs to give us his [Shadow Cloak].
We finally got to the Boshi plateau, and it was exactly as I remembered it. A large hole in the ground and light corruption everywhere.
“Wow, what could have done this?”
The Sarian goddess Biian aka tomato goddess.
This is her handiwork yeah.
We walked around and looked around. There wasn’t much we could feel nostalgia about because most of it was gone or corrupted. Greg tried to do something about it, but it was too much for him. Raishin was giving Elliana a ‘tour’. There was not much to show, though.
And that is where Agnis blew a hole in the mountain and next to it is where he blew up potato village!
He didn’t blow up potato village in this timeline.
I should have, though.
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
I readied a [Foxfire: Winter’s end] but Greg tackled me.
Why are you like this?
Sorry the urge just welled up.
Uhh guys what is that?
I got a wave of nausea at that same moment as the earth rumbled.
Feels like trouble.
A small hole opened up in the sky above where Yzs was located.
Is Yzs experimenting with a new weapon?
It was brief, but it seemed like the hole sucked up something and it disappeared.
Hmm that’s odd.
The ground shook, and mountains collapsed in the distance. This rumble was different. It felt like a real rumble. Then what was that other one?
Another volcano?
I activated my Elgards eyes.
Oh great. We have another problem… I linked them up with my eyes.
Yzs… is gone?
Whoa that is a big hole! Did you miss and nuke the whole country Agnis?
Hey I didn’t do anything! Look, it’s as if the country had been ripped out of the fabric of space, I can’t do that!
Not yet!
I smacked Raishin for that comment.
“Was it related to that strange hole in the sky?”
I grabbed my buddies with my tails and chain teleported to a mountain that could look over the hole.
I don’t want to be that guy, but isn’t this your race should solve Agnis?
How am I supposed to solve a country disappearing? I can’t even find Hourai.
Do you think this happened to Hourai?
Possibly.
Ugh… this continent is even more screwed now! It went from expensive electronium to no electronium!
Maybe this could be a lesson for them, to not rely on one country.
Maybe.
“So, what do we do?
We ignore it till the problem goes away.
I actually agree, ultimately this isn’t our problem.
So… what do we do next?
Uhh adventuring?
Sounds good to me!
Let’s go!
“But what about the people of Yzs and the rest of the continent?”
What about them? We can’t do anything about this.
“You have a point…”
Don’t let it get to you. Bad things happen all the time, we can’t help everyone.
Greg wanted to return to Gittrian, but I vehemently opposed it as it’s Healerguy’s headquarters. Elliana wanted to see more desert, and Raishin and I opposed it. Any suggestion near rivers or the ocean got opposed by Greg.
“Then where will we go to then!?”
How about the snowfields in north-west Zanyr?
“Uhh, that is close to the western elven forest, let’s not go there.” Elliana was quite opposed to that idea. She acted similarly to when her sister was nearby.
Why?
I’ve heard that they’re insane.
“Yeah…”
How about the grand library in Brilliance?
What?
Formerly known as Zanyr.
Yes, but where is it in Zanyr?
He means the capital of Zanyr which was formerly known as Zanyr, as it’s emperor Zanyr Zanyr, the mountain Zanyr and the river Zanyr…
Wow what a narcissist!
Thank you! That’s what I said but it got me caught and thrown in jail!
“You have been to jail?”
Unfortunately, there are few places this guy hasn’t been.
Hey! We've all been to jail! And I’m fine with Zanyr, I refuse to call that city Brilliance.
I’m fine as long as there are hot chicks there!
We had decided to go to Zanyr. It was extremely far, but as long as I ran around the desert, I would be fine.
